Specialties
The focus is on the classic cocktail spanning from the earliest days of cocktails to the present and re-inventing and tweaking certain classics for the modern era. Come enjoy our barrel-aged cocktails as well as our seasonal and original cocktails to boot. We are featuring three house cocktails aged for at least 5 weeks in charred American white oak barrels. All of our syrups, purees and juices are made from scratch. If you don’t drink alcohol come check out our homemade sodas like a Cherry Coke with homemade Grenadine or a Blackberry Soda. For food the menu will change often but will feature perfect drinking staples such as savory snacks, our different flavored popcorns, fondue for two, meat and cheese plates, a hummus plate and other delicious and easy to eat tapas.
History
Established in 2012.
Henry Lopez, formerly of Court & Spark, left his old location at 550 Court Street and relocated to the heart of the Gowanus. Inspired by the eclectic surrounding neighborhood personified in his partner Darrel Lucey, the name Lucey’s Lounge was decided quite early on. Through the support of the neighborhood, the rabid following of the old Court & Sparkers, and the Brooklyn Community Board 6, the move became official in early February, 2012.
Meet the Business Owner
Henry L.
Business Owner
I’ve been around the cocktail scene in new york for the past 20+ years and have worked in almost every capacity in the service business from pot washer to owner. I knew very early on that the bar was a natural fit for me. Since this realization, I have continued to push myself to learn from the masters that have come before me. I truly feel that I am about to embrace my time now as I open Lucey’s Lounge.
