Specialties
Life: Curated sells men’s and women’s fashions, as well as homegoods and furniture – products with character. Our mission is to provide well-curated, high-quality items at accessible price points in a stylish and friendly atmosphere. We opened our doors in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in the fall of 2010 and launched our web store in the fall of 2011.
We have been voted Best His and Hers Boutique in New York City by Time Out New York Magazine, repeatedly listed on Racked.com’s 38 Best Independent Boutiques in NYC and featured in Design Bureau Magazine for our unique store design by Domestic Construction.
History
Established in 2010.
Life: Curated was conceived by Sarah Meyer (Owner) who worked on the design side of the fashion industry for several years, and Ryan Thomann’s (Creative Director) background is in communication art. Sarah had been wanting to open a store for some time, and Ryan was the perfect partner to take it to another level.
Our customers’ style is ‘easy with a bit of edge.’ They look for products with character, and award extra points when the brand is local, independent, or up-and-coming. At L: C, we strive to keep a tailored store that reflects our neighborhood and its lifestyle, and so the majority of our customer base has been from our neighborhood.
Our space was a collaboration with our good friends Trish Andersen and Maureen Walsh of Domestic Construction. The décor leans toward the masculine with its gray walls and clean lines. The space features a pretty intense rope ceiling installation and wall-mounted boxes that we use to display products like art.

Business Owner
Life: Curated was designed with its neighborhood and its owners’ lifestyles in mind, a style that has been coined «easy with a bit of edge.» Sarah Meyer, owner of the Williamsburg storefront, and creative director Ryan Thomann are best friends and graduates of Savannah College of Art and Design.
Sarah Meyer (Owner) has a background in fashion design, and has worked everywhere from Tom Scott to Oscar de la Renta to Mint by Jodi Arnold. On the design side of the industry, Sarah learned the ins and outs of running an apparel company, what does and does not sell, and honed a discerning eye for fabric, print and garment construction. Ryan Thomann (Creative Director) has a background in the graphic arts and art direction. He’s done everything from designing books to merchandising stores. Together, we think we’ve struck a perfect balance of the business and creative ends. And of course, it helps that we’re besties.
