Tony is a great, quality tailor. Everything is always well done — it’s not difficult to look at the stitching and see this. An added bonus is that he’s also a terrific guy. Always enjoy chatting whenever I bring anything in. Highly recommend.

Earlier this year, a friend in our building recommending Tony to me when I had to get a suit altered in a hurry, so I could take it with me on a business trip. He did a great job turning around some significant alterations — on time and of high quality! His price was very reasonable. I just returned to him today for some more alterations, and he remembered me from months ago. I highly recommend him!

I was desperately in need of a tailor to take in and take up a pair of beloved vintage trousers in advance of a wedding. I brought the pants to Tony on a short deadline. He finished the alterations in record time in case he needed to tweak, but no need! His handiwork was perfect and the pants looked fabulous.

I recently moved to Brooklyn from queens and was dreading replacing my tailor who I loved. I stumbled upon La Cleaners from Unilocal reviews and I am incredibly happy I did.
I started out with a few pairs of suit pants which tony did fast and perfect to my specifications. A few weeks later he took care of a few jeans for me. I am a firm believer in paying extra for original hem, but tony convinced me he could do it better. I agreed reluctantly and am so happy I did. I think they look better than the original hem!
Most recently Tony took care of a suit for me. I rarely buy suits off the rack since I am shaped like a potato, but I made an exception for this particular suit because of the price. Tony took the suit and made it feel custom. He worked fast and he price was great for the area.
I recommend him highly!

Tony is amazing! My husband had 4 pairs of suit pants + two suit jackets altered and they came out perfect. Well worth the semi out of the way trip from Park Slope… we’ve been burned by several tailors in the area and are so happy to have finally found someone good. Highly recommend.

Tony is a wonderful tailor for many reasons: he is very exacting, professional, and truly cares about the quality of his work. I brought one of my most treasured items here for full cleaning and tailoring — a blue fox collar cashmere and wool-​blend floor-​length coat — and he did a great job. Not inexpensive, but well worth it. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful experience with this tailor. He did a great job hemming a chiffon and satin dress (which requires extra care) for a wedding. Would highly recommend.

Did an outstanding job of saving a shirt that had brutal coffee stains on it and a tie with bad grease stains. Near perfect, but didn’t quite get a cardigan I have them sparkling

I brought a bridesmaid dress to Tony, thinking I just needed a simple alteration (and therefore not leaving myself much time), and it turned out that my beast of a floor-​length chiffon gown had a GIANT circumference of fabric to hem at the bottom. Like, at least 20 feet. Poor Tony took care of it like a champ and did a wonderful job with my alterations — and still managed to have the dress ready really quickly.

Very expensive by most hole-​in-​the-​wall standards, but the work is very neat and well done.

Tony and team did a great job fixing both a thick winter coat and a suit jacket. Exactly the type of work you don’t want mistakes with and the work done well.

I brought in my bridesmaid dress last week hoping for a miracle — the wedding is this Saturday. My dress was too big and the neckline was a little too deep for my ample bust line: ahem: Not only did they fix my dress, but it was done in 5 days! Thank you! Amazing service! Amazing people!

Finding a good tailor for leather is a challenge — especially bell bottoms. I could not be more pleased with Tony’s work. He was very precise and careful to confirm the length prior to completion. I will definitely go back to Tony. It is a bit of a hike for me, but worth it!

The experience and skill is obvious. But what’s equally as important is their customer service. They are willing to help in a pinch and tailor to my style although we agree my style isn’t typical haha. Very friendly service.

Tony is amazing! I brought in 2 dress pants and a suit. He was very friendly and explained thoroughly how he planned on altering my suit and hemming my pants. He showed me his other masterpieces and it was amazing — no stitch lines. There was no disappointment when I picked it up. He immediately knew who I was and went to get my suit and pants without asking for my receipt. Great customer service and amazing results.

Finding a regular tailor has been the bane of my existence. Being a fashion designer, I am extra picky about how things are done. I don’t only want my sleeve to be hemmed, I want it to be done correctly and finished nicely.
I’ve used Tony a couple times now and have been pretty happy with the results. He himself is super friendly and accommodating. If you need something done fast, he can figure it out for you. The other day he stayed open an extra 30 minutes because my fiancée and I needed our wedding dress and suit done and couldn’t get there earlier.
The shop looks somewhat disorderly and that makes my OCD a little bit crazy but there seems to be a method to the madness. As long as I don’t end up with someone else’s pants, I’ll learn to deal.
Total bummer is that the shop is cash only!

My wedding was coming up soon and I needed a reliable tailor for an evening gown and Chinese Kwa. My actual wedding dress was bought and tailored by Vera Wang but I wouldn’t be afraid to leave my wedding dress in his hands. I found Tony and La Cleaners via Unilocal and decided to give him a try since he wasn’t too far from me – the other 5-​star reviews don’t lie!
The evening gown needed a simple hem and the sides taken in. The Chinese Kwa (a tradition 2 piece chinese wedding dress) was probably the most difficult piece to tailor. It’s completely patterned, embroidered, and beaded. The jacket and the skirt pieces were way too huge on me but Tony did wonders and was able to slim it down to fit me! I also took a few pairs of pants to get hemmed – easy and done fast.
He’s so personable and friendly. He remembered me each time I visited and when I called, he knew which items were mine without me having to explain in detail. During my visits there, I saw him interact with many other customers and they all seem to know and love him. He delivered on all his dates with no issues.
Payments in cash only. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

He did a lot of magic on a dress for me! Cut off a lot of length and took in the waist quite a bit. He was a little expensive but he knocked down the price after my poor grad student plea, what a sweetheart. Tony is a true craftsman and a gentleman. Will definitely come back with future dresses.
Side note: I wish he would take credit or debit cards :/

I brought in a suit jacket that needed the sleeves shortened. As a student who had saved up for this suit, I was nervous to get any kind of alteration done on it.
Tony was so kind and helpful with finding the perfect length. He thoroughly explained how the alterations would change the details on the cuffs. He wanted to make sure I knew how the coat was going to turn out.
And turn out it did. The alterations were done within the week, and the work was incredible.
I’m so grateful I found La Cleaners because of the high quality work and because Tony is genuinely nice to his customers.

The great thing about Tony is his attention to detail. His work is high quality — he hemmed my pants and the stitching was so clean, even on the inside (some tailors will rush the job and leave lots of loose threads on the inside).
