Anytime I visit Brooklyn I like to take jewelry home since the style of jewelry is so different from Oakland. I went to Casa De Oro to check for prices on custom name plate necklaces. The other stores in the area were really trying to give me a run for my money but this place was much more reasonable and the staff was a lot nicer as well. I chose a 14k gold double plate on a 14k gold necklace, 7 letters in the name. I expected it to be finished in about 2 days but it was done the very next day. Unfortunately I made a poor choice for the necklace. It was originally a rope style, really thin and dainty. But it pulled at my clothes, my hair and was really scratchy feeling. Definitely not something I could wear and feel comfortable in. I went back the following day and let the lady behind the counter know my dilemma. I was able to choose a new necklace at no extra cost and they replaced it in minutes. While I waited we chit chatted about how freakin cold it is. Although their selection of jewelry isn’t as vast as other shops in the area, I noticed they do have a better collection of diamond jewelry. So while you can find XO bracelets anywhere on Graham Ave, this place had much nicer diamond bracelets and earrings. All in all, I’m very pleased with how nice the staff is, the reasonable prices and their willingness to work with me. Next time I’m back in Brooklyn I’m definitely picking up some new pieces from here.
