The wait was a bit long, but when I finally got my cut, I can see why! (Don’t worry, they’ve got good music to help the time go by).
It is damn near impossible to find a really good barber at this price. Eric was a master! 15+ years of experience, this man knows what he’s doing. Super nice guy, too.
He did exactly what I wanted, and he shaped my beard perfectly! Which is what I’m always most hesitant to have a barber do. He was so thorough and used techniques I’ve never even seen a barber do.
And on top of all that, the shop is 4 blocks from my apartment. This man just got himself a new regular today.

Great Work! The reviews on Unilocal helped guide me to this barbershop and, I must say, the reviews were spot on! The layout of the shop is super chill & the work that is done here is great as well. As someone who pays close attention to detail, I have a great amount of respect for those that do the same– Especially in the haircutting industry! Glad to have met & have Eric cut my hair. Finding a good barbershop in NYC is tough. You can go to an old-​school barbershop and get a fine traditional cut for under $ 20, or you can go to a hipper barbershop and pay $ 40+. I’ve done both. Finding King of Kings was a game changer for me. $ 20 gets you a great haircut (as good as I’ve gotten for over twice the price) from guys who know modern styles. Eric is the man, but James is also great. If you’re looking for a cut outside the comfort zone of your neighborhood shop, this is the place to go.

Eric is FANTASTIC! He rocks! I am a woman and have tried other barber shops in my hood and been told they will not cut my hair. Eric cuts hair expertly and is such a nice man too. His shop is a very friendly, welcoming and there’s always interesting conversation going on. I love this joint. If Eric is too busy James is super too!

Great barbershop. Walked in on a Friday evening, waited about 5 minutes. James took his time and did an awesome job with my hair — best it’s looked in months. He and Eric are super nice guys too, and the whole vibe of the place is really comfortable and laid back. 100% recommend.

Great barbershop. It has been a pain finding a barbershop in Brooklyn and I have used Unilocal as a guide to do so. I walked into King of Kings and was greeted with a friendly face. What I like about this place is that it gives you the feeling of sitting in your living room. Flat screen tv’s on the wall, cold and warm drinks being offered, and friendly conversation amongst the barber and his clients.
I went there one Saturday afternoon and got my cut by Eric. I like that he ask questions about how you like your haircut before assuming he knows what you want. He is not afraid to ask you more than once what is it that you want him to do with your hair. He’s very detailed oriented, professional and friendly.
When it comes to working with new barbers I am sometimes nervous because they tend to not be an expert at what they do and I end up leaving dissatisfied. I am happy to say that Eric is excellent a t his craft and he has gained a new client. I highly recommend this place to anyone that lives near in Brooklyn.

Had a great experience… I’ve read all the reviews about how great Eric is, but he was busy with a client. James did a great job… Got me in the chair and within minutes we were having a really casual, fun conversation. I Explained that I started growing my hair out a few months ago after years of shaving my head completely bald and James was more than accommodating and gave some of his input on what he thought would look good.
All and all it was a great experience. Definitely going back next time I need a fresh cut.

I’ve been coming to visit Eric for over 3 years now. This is the Classic barbershop– as good as it gets. The service is always impeccable, the cut perfect and the vibe and ambiance speaks to classic New York and more importantly the flavor and style of Brooklyn. I highly recommend a visit for adults and kids alike. A gem!

The inside décor itself is comfortable and classy. The outside looks inviting and eye catching.
I’m a person who judges a barber shop by its appearance and King of Kings barber shop is definitely a place where I want to get my haircut.
Eric is as cool as he is professional.
All of my scheduled haircuts with Eric was done with care a dedication, which is how I like it.
The barbershop has a SoHo feel and look to it.
You can catch a good movie playing on the Tv while you wait, and don’t be surprised if Eric offers you a Beer and makes you feel at home.

Simple & clean, fast & friendly. New to the neighborhood, and it doesn’t make sense to drive 70 miles to my old barber, as loyal I want to be. I’m always nervous about switching up barbers as i’m ultra particular about my hair as most of us can be– but don’t fret, Eric is a professional and cuts sharp. Now I look great, and have a new go-​to barber in my new neighborhood.

I’ve been getting my haircut from Eric for almost three years now. Before that, I was on the search for a barber I could stick to, but it was a failed attempt. I’m really glad I met Eric, its a pleasure to get a cut from him every time.

I was at Green Fig café today having a bite to eat like I often do when I thought to myself «I should check out King of Kings». After seeing the reviews on Unilocal I was swayed to walk in and see if there was any wait.
I walked in and was greeted with a smile by Eric and promptly set up an appointment for only an hour later (which I was pleased with since I hadn’t set up a time in advance).
When I came back I was nothing less than impressed. I was given great service.
Eric chatted with me and asked me where I was from and how I found out about the place. He was very detailed and precise with my haircut. He even offered me a drink while I had my haircut!
This place is top notch.
I can’t recommend it enough.

My man, Eric, does great work. He’s a ninja with the straight razor! He knew a lot about his craft and had a really pleasant disposition. Be sure to tip him well so he can send his children to barber’s school. Also, Eric did not do the haircut in my profile picture… :-P

Eric is nothing short of a master of his craft. He can cut any texture hair, any length, men and women, into pretty much any style.
Yes, if you do not have an appointment you should be prepared to wait. He does not half-​a** any of his cuts and a standard haircut can take upwards of 45 minutes. Just call or text ahead of time to spare yourself the hassle of waiting.

I’ve been trying to find a decent lgbtq friendly barber in all of NYC. I just moved to Sunset Park in May 2014 and I happened to pass by King of Kings. After going to all the fancy barbershops in Williamsburg and the Lower East Side I stepped into King of Kings.
Eric is professional, friendly, precise, and fun!
As a girl in menswear with a short haircut I have had a lot of resistance from certain barber shops about getting my hair done. I won’t name places, but one is on the Lower East Side.
Not only was Eric awesome as a person, but he cut my hair SO well. I FINALLY got the haircut I wanted. I kept trying to tell people what kind of fade I want, but it never was exact. Eric did such a fantastic job.
I am so lucky to have such an awesome shop so close to my home, but if you are traveling to Brooklyn seriously go see Eric. He is worth it. Trust me!

I normally cut my own hair and do pretty good – since it’s pride and I had some extra cash, I decided to have a professional fade.
Called ahead to get a spot and was told to just stop in. Walked in 10 mins later and had to call cuz he was outside. He was polite and offered me a drink, but also brought in two people from outside.
Had I known he had two cuts to do I would have done errands or gone somewhere else rather than immediately walk the 10 blocks to get there.
It’s a shame because he looked like he would have gave a good fade… Guess I’m back to cutting my own.

UPDATE 1÷3÷2016: I’ve been a loyal customer for almost 2 years now and it is still an amazing place with awesome cuts. I don’t trust ANYONE else with cutting my hair.

I’ve been trying to find a place closer to home that can not only do good cuts, but can handle a cut for women. Unilocal wins again, because I did a search and came across King of Kings. This super convenient barber shop right off the 36^th Street stop is just 10 minutes by train from home. The spot itself is super clean, really modern and fresh… there’s ALWAYS cool music playing. The folks there are über professional and really listen to how I want my cut to go. For any ladies that understand how hard it can be to not look «like a guy» when your hair is that short, you’ll get it.
Prices are very reasonable at $ 20 for a cut, but at least you get it the way you want it. I went for the 2^nd time last week, and I’m really a happy camper. I’ve seen how they do shaves on the guys, and it’s really sharp-​looking.
Best suggestion: come early if you want to be in and out quickly. It can be a little bit of a wait since it’s relatively popular, but with the music playing, it’s easy to pass the time. And it’s worth it.
This is DEFINITELY my go-​to spot from now on. :-)

I just left King of Kings about 20 minutes ago, and the first thing I’m doing now that I’m home is writing a review. This place is LEGIT.
It’s clean, comfortable, and Eric gave me a great cut. I just moved to Brooklyn in November and was dreading finding a new barber. I saw the reviews on Unilocal and they rang true.
He’s very detail-​oriented, but quick, and you can tell he wants your hair looking good. Real affordable too. This’ll definitely be my spot.
Edit: just adding that I got a cut from James and he’s real good too. So don’t hesitate to get in his chair if it’s open is all I’m saying.
