Keene Murray Therapy provides a range of therapeutic services to individuals, couples, children and adolescents, families and elders. Services include psychodynamic therapy, cognitive/​behavioral therapy, mindfulness and other stress-​reduction techniques. They assist with communication skills, therapeutic assessments, and standardized tests. Keene Murray Therapy works with individuals and couples creatively and respectively. The team uses traditional «talk therapy» approaches and incorporates writing, drawing, music and drama. This active symbolic expression allows clients to express their emotions and experience new ways of being.

Bill Murray, PhD

Is a clinical psychologist with a background in assessment, gerontology and counseling for couples with marital problems. He has worked in trauma counseling for victims of accidents. A member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Sandplay Therapists of America (STA), Bill has participated in numerous presentations at professional conferences. Bill is currently developing cognitive, behavioral, mindfulness-​based, and creative resources for trauma victims.

Gretta Keene, LCSW

Is a licensed clinical social worker, certified psychoanalyst and a sandplay therapist. She is a member of a variety of organizations including the National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis (NAAP) and Sandplay Therapists of America (STA).

History

Established in 2002.

January 2016 – New to the practice:

Catherine Genzler is a graduate intern serving Keene Murray Therapy clients. Catherine is pursuing her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University. In addition to her ongoing academic studies, she brings her varied life experiences to the practice including mindfulness training, yoga instruction, as well as former manufacturing business ownership. Catherine provides her clients a safe, nurturing and nonjudgmental environmental. She is currently seeing adults, couples and adolescents as well as facilitating a support/​community group for people working through loss and bereavement.

Along with her husband and their beloved dog, Kobi, Catherine has recently relocated to Park Slope from Phoenix, AZ to be closer to her daughter, son-​in-​law and granddaughter who also live in Brooklyn.
