Had an issue with my oil pressure and took my car here. They ran tests and couldn’t find anything wrong — I left with the problem worse than it was before and less a $ 100. I took my car somewhere else and they immediately fixed the problem by changing the oil. Jk was a huge waste of time and money. They did nothing to fix the issue with my car and still charged me.

The owner and the mechanics here have struck me as knowledgable, honest, and helpful. They’ve been great about talking me through what was causing the problems, what I needed to do to fix them, and what was not necessary. They’ve been quick to complete the jobs and very reasonable with what they charged me.

Came in early monday morning with no appointment, wanting to swap out my driveshaft with a broken U joint, with a new one that I had purchased online. Jack promised to have it done in two hours, and voila two hours later. His team was done. Great service, and fast and delivered as promise. Prices are reasonable, and they know their stuff. I’ve only had one experience with them thus far, but if more situations come along in the future, with jobs I can’t do myself. I’ll be sure to drop by and pay them a visit.
Also, don’t expect to be served immediately, I showed up early during their opening to be sure I was the first customer. Early bird gets the worm!

got inspection done here and repair for my Toyota 4Runner… Service is top notch. No BS, they tell it how it is. Highly recommend.

Dropped my car off for alignment. They stole a front cover part off the front bumper and would not admit to it or reimburse me. I would not recommend going there.

These guys are true professionals. I know a thing or two about cars, and had a really tough time finding a reliable mechanic shop that was honest and competent in the Williamsburg /​Greenpoint area. I went to several different shops, all highly rated on Unilocal,prior to coming here. So happy I found this place.
The owner Jack is incredibly honest, and the shop charges reasonable rates for the work they do. They’re happy to order parts for you or install parts you source on your own. I’ve had wheel bearings and u-​joints replaced here, my rack and pinion replaced and key cylinder replaced, oil changes, etc. I also LOVE the fact that they have a Road Force wheel balancing machine here. That may not mean much to everyone, but it’s the be-​all-​end-​all of wheel balancing machines (and far superior to spin balancing).
Take it from someone that has dealt with mechanics all up and down the car spectrum, from 1998 4Runners, to Porsches, to Audis, to Lexus, etc. I’ve raced a far number of cars on tracks, have done some pretty extensive modifications to my previous vehicles, and have done a good amount of off-​roading as well. My point is, I know a decent amount about cars, and these guys are just great. Go here and feel confident that you’re being told the truth and you’re getting quality work done at a fair price.

I called in and asked about an inspection. I came at the time they told me to and I was in and out in 15 minutes. Fast and professional service!

I was disappointed with my experience here. I read the Unilocal reviews and determined that JK Automotive was a solid neighborhood place, one which I was eager to bring my business to.
I brought a very good 2 year old car in for a routine oil change. My check engine light and VDC had come on a few days before, so I mentioned it to them to see if they knew what it might be. They performed a one hour diagnostic test on my car without letting me know they were going to do so, and as a result I was stuck with a $ 125 dollar charge that I am very unhappy about.
I urge anyone who comes here to be very clear with the staff on what is going to be performed, and how much it might cost, before leaving your car with them. I wish I had been given the choice to decline the test, and if I could turn back time I would have contested the bill while I was there in the shop, as it may have yielded better results, but I was so shaken by the reality of it all that I just handed over my credit card and left as fast as I could.
Update: Since I have posted my review, Marcin has been in touch with me and offered to refund me half of the 125 dollar fee for the misunderstanding. This is excellent customer service. I wish I hadn’t been charged at all, but next time I will know to ask more questions.

Can’t say enough good things about these guys. I’ll try though.
So, I’ve taken my truck here a few times now for various things. It’s an older Jeep Cherokee XJ, and I have had a laundry list of things repaired. I tend to get my own parts because sometimes parts are harder to come by or I tend to want more custom /​upgraded parts from what you can get at an auto parts store. The fact that they will install my parts is a huge win, a lot of shops won’t do that!
They are always friendly, extremely professional, and very very honest. In many cases, they found other things wrong and let me know what they were, which was great. They actually test drive the cars too, you would be AMAZED at how many places don’t test drive a vehicle after it has been repaired. In addition, they use the most state of the art equipment for alignments and have an awesome road force tire balancing machine.
Prior to moving to NY I worked on my own cars in my garage, so it’s not easy for me to trust strangers with my cars. I will never take my car anywhere else and I will recommend them to everyone I know.

This is a rare and excellent place. Marcin the head guy there is not only better than any mechanic I’ve ever come across, but he is extremely honest and generous. So happy I found this place. Great pricing and after going there once you just implicitly trust these guys and their professionalism.

These guys (father and son) are top-​notch, serious and professional and won’t try to sell you something you don’t need.
Had a terrible experience with Two Guys (down the street) before I finally found JK Automotive and now that I have found them I do not want to go anywhere else.

I went to this mechanic because of the Unilocal reviews I read. The reviewers were spot on. These guys are honest, reasonably priced and they repaired the car in a timely manner. What more can you ask for?

A great family owned business. The head mechanic is the owner’s son, and he gave me the greatest, easy to understand advice, and you can tell he as well as the owner are very passionate about their business. They genuinely want to diagnose and alleviate the problem, and customer service is their number one priority.

Honest and decent.
