When I first discovered this place more than a year after moving close by I was mad at myself. They have the best ital I’ve tasted in brooklyn so far. They open early for us early birds and overnight workers who get off early in the am. The staff is always friendly and it has an island ambience. Try their daily soup, always very filling and healthy.

The ackee and saltfish is real good, it’s not to oily. They also make whole wheat dumplings.

My family has been coming to this restaurant for a couple of years… which says a lot. I find the customer service is great. The brothers are super friendly and personable. I agree that the food is a good price for the quality. The food is seasoned enough and taste like it was cooked with love. I have brought my out of town family and friends to this restaurant and they were all satisfied. The brothers that serve the food are always washing their hands and being the germaphobe that I am… truly appreciate seeing that. I have nothing negative to say but will add that plenty of times we eat at places that look very nice on the inside and outside and the food is horrible… so don’t judge a book by its cover.

If it weren’t for the sucky experience I wouldn’t give this place such low ratings but I had to. Anywhoo, the food was good I got some tasty stew fish with rice and peas(a hefty amount) for just $ 5. Yes, $ 5 that is unheard of! Well the fish was cut up so technically it was sliced fish but $ 5 is still a deal. The waiter took forever to serve me and the place looked like a hole in a wall. They need a major upgrade but otherwise I enjoyed my lunch and for $ 2 extra I got a nice bottle of Ginger Ginseng Up mmmm. I would go there again ONLY because its cheap. But def not a nice looking joint at all.
