Skip juice press. skip juice generation. This is the best juice and smoothie place in the area. The girls behind the counter are always crazy nice. Their smoothies are large, thick and filling which I love because it makes you feel like the money youre spending is well worth it. I’ve come consistently since it was tiny and so happy theyve expanded the space to sell organic and holistic items like cosmetics, stationary and oils. Get the Best Breakfast with flax seed as a meal replacement.

OK, so I come here almost every day. I love juices and IMO Grass Roots is superior to both Juice Generation and Juice Press. First of all, the staff here are truly wonderful people. Super nice and patient and friendly. But ok, you don’t just go to a juice place for company, so how about the juices? AWESOME. Like I said, I stop in almost every day for one. Just good, honest juice at a reasonable price.
So yeah the juice is great. But my real obsession here are the matcha lattes. Serious addiction. The staff uses real matcha (huge difference from the crap you get at starbucks) and uses a traditional bamboo whisk and matcha bowl to prepare. Then you get a choice of milk (hello! almond, soy, whole, whatever — i think they even have hemp!). The almond milk they use is barista blend so it’s froths really nicely. SO DELICIOUS.
They have a bunch of grab and go food which I think is very convenient, makes being a healthy human just that much easier. I’ve never been disappointed!
Oh, and the last thing I love about this place — in the front of the shop they have a little pantry area with lots of cool health focused artisanal products like date sugar, kelp noodles and local honey. Also have a nice selection of natural beauty products like deodorant and soaps. Really wonderful stuff!

Today I’m writing a new review because I have to admit that the smoothies are the best I’ve had in NY by far. Most juice places water down their drinks but not Grass Root. That being said, their smoothies and fresh juices aren’t organic and therefore overpriced if you ask me.
After my last review I got a lovely email, with an apology. And I was also promised a gift card, which I never got.

first of all… this is my favorite place in the whole world. the bounty bars give me the chills every single time. the berry blast is a dream come true, definitely try it. the staff is ALWAYS friendly! I have never had a bad experience here and recommend everyone to pop in! everything is always fresh and consistently delicious. also so so clean!

I don’t come here for the juice though. I go for those salads and all the raw vegan stuff!

I needed a post-​holiday reset and ordered a 5 day ‘peace of mind’ cleanse. It is phenomenal! I felt so good at day 5, I ordered 3 more days to keep it going…
6 drinks a day:
— Grass Roots — full of the green goodness to get your day going
— Cricket — my second favorite part of the day! Sweet and cool and delicious.
— Grass Roots — second one of the day. More green goodness
— Original Gangster — a wicked spicy lemonade drink that keeps my hands out the candy jar in the afternoon
— Just Beet It — spicy beet juice a good.
— Almond Milk — my favorite part of the day. Tastes like a date milkshake!
I’ve tried other ‘commercial line’ cold press cleanses and this is my favorite. No cucumber based juices here!

I love Grass Roots, I like the Best breakfast shake. It’s filling and delicious. The pistachio cookie is also excellent. But they have a great assorment of healthy foods and beverages that attract all walks of life. Definitely worth a try.

After giving Grass roots another shot I have to say that I do like their foods and snacks. They really have a leg up on local artisanal products, as well as personal addictins like coconut sugar. Also they have a great little nook of vegan baked goods, which does indeed make me happy. I tried their coconut yogurt with granola, which was prettttttty dope and I’ll definitely go back for. So overall, I think the food offered is pretty great.
My only gripe still is that their smoothies use too much ice, and therefor aren’t very flavorful.

Favorite raw juice stop in New York! Live close by, come in all the time and everyone is so incredibly patient and accommodating and friendly! Great raw food choices and juices!

They have a pretty decent Acai bowl ($ 8.5). It comes with Acai ice cream, granola, peanut butter, and bananas.
(We asked for strawberries in addition)
First comment is that they serve it directly in a «to go» big cup even if we stay at the place, which makes it less enjoyable to eat it compared to if it was in a real large bowl. Especially when you want to have a scoop with all the layers together, whereas with this cup you need to start to eat the fruits on top first before getting to the granola and ice cream at the bottom. I don’t know if they can serve it in a real bowl but we will ask it next time.
The Acai bowl was very good but the peanut butter adds a sweet flavor that we feel is unnecessary. (Also the granola was slightly too crunchy)
We also had a slice of a Matcha coconut cake ($ 4) which was good but a bit dry.

eat-​a peach juice was amazing. Food looked so healthy and good but it is just sad to see how much they sell it. It is sad to see that to feed yourself correctly and with fresh product you have to put $ 10.00 for a juice. I believe juice are like cocktails nowadays.

This place is the NUMBER 1 juice bar in New York City !!! No questions asked. The very best of the best.

Disappointing: I used to like this place but it seems things have changed. Their smoothies are not bad, have some decent treat selections, the breakfast bowls are good but the grab n go section is inedible. I’ve tried a few things from the grab and go but each time proves to be more disappointing than the next.
After my review the manager reached out and her concern really says a lot about the business. Will give it another shot.

Pretty long wait but it was definitely worth it. Also it was Monday morning so it’s expected. This will def be my morning route from now!

I juice on my own daily but I love to get my more filling smoothies from here. My favorite is Best Breakfast — can’t remember all the ingredients but soooooo delish -. My runner up is Power of Cacao, will satisfy the craziest of chocolate cravings. I have tried some of the sandwiches and snacks also good. Some things are a bit pricey but all good. Fresh, made to order, minimal waiting time and place alway smells great.

Sometimes you just don’t want eggs on a Saturday, and before my GF and I went to McCarren to read and enjoy the sunshine, we popped in for some smoothies. It was delicious! Perfect for that 80 degree weather that is descending upon NYC with a fury. I was, hand to god, full after my shake. A little extra whey and you will be too. Lines can get a bit long, so prep yourself for a wait. But a modicum degree of patience is well worth the end result.
Juicing may be over the top pretentious Brooklyn … but the pretension tastes delicious in my belly!

Decent juice and smoothies; expensive prices.
I was super excited to see that a health spot was nearby, so I decided to give this place a try for breakfast! They offer a variety of fresh smoothies, juices, coffee, acai bowls, and vegan/​vegetarian options. They also have bottled juices and packaged food for a convenient meal on the go.
I ordered the Power of Acai smoothie, the Fruity Spice juice, and a dragonfruit bowl (it was their special of the day or month (?)) for a total cost of $ 24. And mind you the juice was only 12 oz!
My Fruity Spice juice was good, the ginger overpowered the rest of the ingredients, but it wasn’t unbearable. The smoothie was decent and the cup was huge, however they didn’t fill it up to the top! If I’m paying $ 8.50 for a smoothie it not only should be amazing, but it should also be FULL. The dragonfruit bowl topped with shredded coconuts and sliced bananas was pretty amazing. However, I saw that they had pre-​sliced the bananas and placed them in the freezer. Why not slice it fresh. especially if it’s a topping. But hey that’s just me. I also made a grave mistake of asking for granola on top. It had what tasted like rosemary… mixed in the granola. for what’s supposed to be a sweet snack. I don’t know. it just didn’t work for me and I ended up scooping all of it off.
Lastly, the staff wasn’t very attentive, moved at a slow pace, and forgot things in my order. Overall, I had a less than average experience. Not sure if it’s worth another try despite it being close by.

This is the perfect place to visit after a 90 minute bikram class, and thank god they’re right off my stop! I haven’t tried their eats, but the juices, from berry to milky are ridiculous. I love this place

Coolest, natural and healthy juice bar in NYC. The Grass a Roots Juicery, happens to be in what was known as «Crookyn», now it has become the hippest town in NYC. I call it «Will-​Burgh», aka Williamsburg. This historic has been transformed by local young social entrepreneurs /​innovators!
2^nd time at Grass Roots. Simply the best!
