Gallery Bar would be awesome if it had a young and friendly staff. Unfortunately, it doesn’t. The staff members have a very unwelcoming and«grumpy parent» presence that seriously brings down the mood of the bar. A ton of potential here though. As someone who lives nearby, it would be great if this bar had a trivia night.

My husband and I came here for a random Sunday brunch and it was phenomenal! There weren’t many people in there, us, a few other tables. The poor waitress told us that this was the most people she’s every served at once, which I found very adorable and super cozy. I felt like I was in someone’s living room. It was great! They had an unlimited mimosa option for an extra $ 15 which was also amazing! The food came out in a very timely manner and was super delicious! The reason I’m giving them a 4⁄5 star rating is because their brunch menu didn’t have too many options on it– BUT the options they did have were very tasty! And the waitress was not very experienced, although everything came out just fine. All in all, we will definitely be back! We also want to try their lunch/dinner menu!

Gallery Bar is one of those places where you really get a bang for your buck. Not only do they offer an unlimited brunch add on for an additional $ 15, the portion sizes with the entrees I found to be very generous. What I like– After trying several different brunch entrees I can say the food here is decent. From the omelettes to the pancakes to the French toast, everything I’ve tried was tasty and reasonably priced. The place is rarely ever crowded and I’m not certain why as its in a high traffic part of Brooklyn. They do have patio seating however during the end of summer 2015 you could not drink outside due to licensing issues. Hopefully summer 2016 will have changed that. What I dislike– Though they always keep the mimosas flowing, they’re always super weak. I’m not sure if it was the ratio of champagne to Oj or what but after an hour and still no buzz… Somethings not right. Improve there and I’ll be happy with the place. Good vibes here overall.

A group of friends and I had brunch here and had a lovely time. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating to our group(and all our bikes!) and they made sure to make a special vegan meal for me. I am really happy to hear they will start offering a homemade veggie burger next week. Since the menu was pretty meat and dairy heavy, they made me a special platter with stewed black beans, home fried potatoes, and sauteed veggies(cabbage, carrots, squash, and peppers). The veggies were a tad oily but it was all delicious and reasonably priced. I look forward to returning to try their new veggie burger.

«A little slow» This may be slightly biased because I was starving and on the verge of «hangry» when I arrived. I grabbed a seat at the bar(the restaurant was pretty much empty) by a waitress who said that my waitress would be out shortly. I asked for a glass of water, which did not arrive, and 6 – 7 minutes later my waitress arrived. Keep in mind there was about 8 other people in the bar/restaurant. I was on the verge of leaving. The food was edible not great but not gross; I had the tex mex omelette. The waitress’ perfume was very strong so that may have affected the taste of my food. Plus, I had to track down the waitress to get my check because she was watching TV and chatting with a couple of folks. I wanted to scream«could you please do your job!!» but I refrained. I will give this place another go because word on the street is that it shows«American Horror Story» on Wednesdays. Hopefully, there will be more attentive service and I can give a higher rating.

Negative minus a few. My husband and I went here about a year ago and noticed how rude the owner was, yelling at people for dancing(to the live band!) We thought, maybe she was having a bad day and didn’t anticipate returning since the food sucked. BUT then she advertised playing the world series, thus our sad return. She made folks close out in the 8th inning, calling out prices way more expensive than the bill(I saw the receipt after giving her CC) and ultimately, kicking people out before the game was over. I really don’t understand why such a person so miserable even tries to run a bar. The food tastes horrible probably because no one goes there and the beer was warm. She even tried selling us an old beer for half price when we walked in saying«I poured it on accident a while ago.» Please proceed as not to feel the anger I did – again.

First off, I can’t believe this place has such horrible reviews!!! Obviously this isn’t your typical fancy restaurant it does say BAR. The last time I checked BARS don’t usually look as great as this one! I don’t understand why people nag so much about the food being overpriced, or the mimosas having flat champagne(hello if they’re unlimited go chug down). Like who really wants to get drunk during breakfast/brunch? But Honestly it’s my boyfriend and I favorite brunch spot. Never fails. We’ve been here more than 4 times and the food never disappoints. Brunch is absolutely delicious and the mimosas are also great! The staff is super friendly, especially the manager/cook. Service is always great and we’ve always feel welcome. Drinks and food defiantly aren’t overpriced. This is NOT your typical ihop, local diner, apple bees, or bar where the drinks cost more than the appetizers!!! It’s affordable.. . Seriously some dishes on the menu are 8 $ with sides that are a great portion. We are looking forward to trying more items on the menu. But our recommendations are the pancakes, french toast and tuna melt which are super delicious. Don’t forget the unlimited mimosas! UNLIMITEDFORANHOUR !! LIKESERIOUSLYAMAZING!!!

There is nothing more sad than a bar that cannot respect regular patrons. The service is bad. The food is bad. They can’t even mix a good cocktail. There’s a reason why it’s always empty. Don’t go.

Terrible in every way. I’m here 11pm on a Friday, not crowded and yet service is terribly slow. Wings are fine but the blue cheese is literally watered down. Bad ambience(think Applebee’s but run down), draught beer is foamy. Ohhh and a blues travlers cover band is playing…

Good drink prices but thats all. The food isn’t good and makes me sick every time. The place is always empty and the owner is kind of weird. It’s close to where I stay so I try to give it a chance but its just not inviting. It’s a nice place though, it has a lot of potential.

First of all take some tips from the above website and this is just one of many with similar information. Right off the bat there are three bits of information I can attribute to your business. I have many personal complaints and I normally do not care to write so much but this is a special case. The bar itself is nice and deserves respect. The staff on the other hand are clueless in all aspects of hospitality and serving. I would go as far to say they have no clue on how to deal with People during regular social situations. I have never left a bar so angry on my own behalf. To sum it up the service is slow, it’s almost as if the bartenders are not trained. The good: Nice looking place Good liquor selection Patio Clean The bad: The staff The bartenders The owner The manager The music The scene _total lack of identity The prices wicked pricey No Whiskey menu but Tom of whiskey I used to wish this place succeeded as I see many people either did or have. But come on this place need s to take a hint or sell to someone who will.

For a bar off of Broadway that serves real food, I give this place 5 stars. Come on guys, it is what it is but they did not disappoint in service, food or price. Perhaps I had low expectations after reading their reviews but the burger? Delicious! Was it the black label burger from minetta tavern? No. Was it shake shack? No. But for what they are, it was awesome! Good, filling, cooked to the right temperature. I applaud them. $ 5 beer and shot special?! YESPLEASE! $ 2 off for happy hour? Perfect! Now I will admit — the bartender looked a little young and when I asked for cheddar on my burger, it may have been something else. But he was friendly and the burger was still really good. They have a few kinks to work out but I like them and I REALLY like their selection of liquor and ambiance. It’s nicer to go to when you don’t want a loud crowdy dive bar like lone wolf(although I LOVE lone wolf) –also don’t go for the Parmesan fries — they charge you 50 cents for cheap, grocery store bought grated Parmesan cheese

Place is so nice and i keep giving it a chance but the staff are so unfriendly, I feel like they’re just judging me for being there every time. Had a few things on the menu before that were half decent. But tried the heavily advertised burger, it was terrible . This place has so much promise but the staff are just too awful to ever want to go back

I come to this place out of desperation. There are a few things working against them. However, I will start with the positive: 1. Location 2. Size — pretty big and doesn’t have a dive bar feel. 3. Backyard 4. GREATBAR — Outstanding selection of topshelf drinks, bartenders are typically professional and I’ve always gotten a great draft pour. Plus if you can pour an excellent glass of Guinness — extra points and a wink :). 5. Its always empty… see why below. The negative: 1. Price — its expensive, especially with so many competitors around. PLUSIT“S BARFOOD. 2. Owner looming all the time. It’s weird. 3. There is a charge to add protein to your meal. Example: $ 5 to add chicken to your pasta. 4. Portion size has been reduced… prices have increased or stayed the same. what? 5. So damn sad. 6. Adding this because I went back for brunch — IT’S HORRIBLELOL. Screwdriver — powdered orange juice(TANG) lol. I can’t lol. But rooting for ya, if you read all the reviews and make the suggested changes. We are your customers for a reason and obviously a lot of people are rooting for you. :) Good luck.

We went for Sunday brunch at 12:30 and it was a ghost town. We ordered three different selections along with unlimited mimosas for $ 24.99 pp. The mimosa were WEAK. We thought maybe the ‘champagne’ was flat but by the second round with a new bottle we quickly realized it was really cheap champagne. No wonder there was no buzz after 6 – 8 glasses. The food was okay but GB you could do a lot better adding more flavor to your food. This is Bushwick, break out the Sazon. Also, maybe a live jazz band would add some character to this spot and increase the traffic flow. Nothing like Sunday brunch and jazz. Its a recipe that works well at other brunch spots that are packed with patrons and they want exception food too. This venue has a lot of potential. Here are some tips: 1. MUSIC: Musicians or Jazz band playing a mid afternoon session 2. Encourage local artist display their works of ART to adorn your walls of the Gallery Bar 3. Expand your menu options 4. Turn off the TV over the BAR unless a huge sporting event is taking place. 5. Offer higher quality liquor for your UL mimosa/screw drivers and ONE hour is a short time span when other venues offer two for the same price.

This bar has so much potential. A great space, with a nice outdoor patio-solid beers on tap, and a large bourbon selection. If you get there early enough, its easy to get whatever game you want on. I love the wings, but most of the menu tends to be hit or miss. The staff seems to be mostly new to the bar/restaurant business and in need of an experienced leader, but hoping they will iron out the kinks. Most annoying part for me is that there isn’t any WIFI, and they have an annoying note that tells you to talk to people. Living nearby, I like to hit up local places for an afternoon/early evening while working online-so they have cut the number of times I would come back in half(at least).

Its was ny birthday! & we’ve been trying to have brunch for quite a while. Driving past we thought it was closed. We called to be sure they were opened. Its pretty dark but thankfully they had a backyard that was open, sunny and perfect for talking pics. Food was pretty good. Service ok. Mimosas unlimited for an hr.

You’re slipping Gallery Bar! I want you to stay open so I’ll offer some frank advice. –lower the bass on your sound system. «Cranking the bass» makes good music sound shitty. –Unlimited mimosas(for one hour) just kind of looks like a trick. Maybe give 3 or 4 mimosa coupons with each brunch entrée. –cold food seems to be a common complaint. Address that. Wait staff also should not disagree with customers about the warmth of food. –Change the music. It always seems to be on a Kesha Pandora station. –Take that giant painting out. It looks like an airbrushed tshirt from six flags. It’s jarring and abrasive. –get WIFI and take down that snarky sign suggesting that people who want wifi should just«talk to each other.» This is 2014. You need more customers before you can afford to judge what people want. –take down the«you order it, you pay for it» sign. It suggests you make bad drinks. –take down the sign in the bathroom that says«do not flush brown paper.» It makes me think about not flushing TP that I’ve pooped on, like I’m in a fragile marine ecosystem or something. Another word for brown paper is «paper towels.» –You have excellent beer+shot specials but no signs advertising them. Advertise those before your weird cocktails. –hire bartenders that people would want to have a drink with. The people who want to have a drink with your teenage niece(trust me, they’re there and super creepy) don’t count. Your family members might do well to get some kitchen skills before they take on such a delicately social position as bartender. –figure out something else for that side room. Maybe divide it off and rent it as a coffee shop? You will not outgrow the main room anytime soon. –you’ll never get the bustling hipster crowd. It’s just not gonna happen. What you could definitely get is a loyal group of regulars– a blend of black/Hispanic locals and non-hipster hipsters. Your Unilocal reviewers are far more diverse than your average bougie Bushwick bar. Take advantage of that! Get the bartenders to grow regulars through cheerful recognition and strategic comps. Play up the sports angle– pitcher and wing specials or something. You’re still one of the only businesses with a tv. Always remember I love you Gallery Bar, that’s why I’m so tough on you– I just want to see you succeed!

Ugh. It sucks that I’m writing this because I was rooting for this spot. I tried the brunch here and it was absolutely the worst brunch ever. It stings to even type that. The food took forever to come out and when it did, it was not worth the wait. I had the Tex Mex Eggs and it had NO flavor, none at all. I doused it in salt & pepper and it just wouldn’t absorb the flavor. The coffee was terrible, maybe it was an old brew but it tasted like instant coffee. The potatoes were OK, a little spicy which gave it some flavor, but the whole dish was just bad. I didn’t even bother finishing it and I was very tempted to go to another brunch spot directly after because I was craving huevos rancheros. This place has been open for a while, and it doesn’t seem to be doing too well, but it’s situated in a great neighborhood and can get a lot of foot traffic. However, if the service and food do not get a major update, I don’t see them being open for much longer. They are trying, I guess. They have«The Walking Dead» viewings, all kind of happy hour specials & the décor is killer. But the quality of the food/drinks just isn’t there. I’m rooting for you, Gallery Bar!

Absolutely positively no complaints. It’s my local watering hole. I’ll defend it to the the death! Late weeknight happy hours(until 9pm). Food is 2 steps above bar food, but nothing I’d go out my way for.
