This place reminds me of those super huge amusement parks where you need to use the big bright and colorful fun map for the location of the super fun rides. For me, a person who is not a big fan of large crowds, the Food Bazaar can be a little intimidating (especially, when shopping the Sunday before Thanksgiving). But, it gets a little better once you get into the flow of things.
One of my main issues with the place is that none of the aisles was labelled, so you essentially may have to visit every aisle to look for a particular product. In my case, that product was vanilla extract, which was located in the FRONT of the store rather than in the baking aisle.
I think that I will return to purchase groceries in the future. For this adventure, I was there to purchase ingredients to bake a tres leches cake. Many of the things that I bought were of the packaged food and canned good variety, so I cannot speak of the freshness of the seafood, meats, and dairy products. On a whole the prices for many items were cheaper than those in Manhattan.

The produce section is awful and the salespeople and managers are even worse!
I purchased strawberries from here. I got home to cut them for my lunch and noticed they were molded and mushy. I returned them to the store the next morning. I showed the cashier and the manager and they didn’t want to give me my money back because I started cutting them. Mind you, I cut 4 of the 20 something strawberries! I explained how I noticed they were gone bad because I started cutting them and that doesn’t excuse the fact they were moldy. They offered me another batch before giving my money back. The produce in general was sub par so I dare get another batch.
Will never return here again!

Such a big supermarket. Great variety and shopping starts right in the parking lot. As you walk in with your shopping cart they have a stock pile of Merchandise on sale. The fruit and vegetable section is big. The only down fall is 1. They were doing construction so it took up a lot of space and 2 the aisle’s are narrow so depending on how many people are already there you have to leave your shopping cart double parked and walk in the aisle yourself… Other than that, great deals every week

This supermarket recently remodeled, and the beer section in particular is now bigger with far more selection. The only problem is they sell SPOILED BEER. And will REFUSE to allow you to exchange.
I’ve been going here for ten years, and have never had a problem. I’ve exchanged a few spoiled items in the past with no problem. Apparently this is a new policy. STAY AWAY.
It’s clear they are buying heavily discounted beer from distributors who know it’s spoiled and then selling for full price. To pay for the remodeling maybe?
Its a shame – they are obviously trying very hard to improve their store, but I won’t be going there any more, especially with the Brooklyn Harvest Market right around the corner on Union.

Love their fresh seafood section (closes earlier then the store before 9 I think). They have semi clean restrooms and friendly cashiers. I go in for the 2/​$ 5.00 big bag of hot Cheetos. Guilty

This supermarket is great! Has a excellent variety and prices are very reasonable. They have an extended mean section as well as a separate fish market with a great fresh selection as well. I recommend a visit if you are in the area.
–If driving there, rest assured, they have their own lot

This super market is great. They offer affordable prices, which everyone knows it’s hard to find in the city and even sometimes Brooklyn. It’s got huge variety of produces but the thing I like the most is that everything is fresh. So many times I’ll go to c-​towns or corner bodegas and they meats are old and their fruits and veggies are going bad. The best thing about this place is the prices and the quality. The only bad thing is that it’s so difficult to get around in there. It’s narrow aisles full of people, but I guess that’s everywhere in New York City.

Is a good supermarket but some items needs to be check the Exp date. I was looking for a pack of hot dogs buns and they were expired «discusting» so disappointed =X

Great market! I moved here from Florida and was used to having Spanish grocery stores close by for various cheeses and spices. After searching for a while for a specific spice blend I live on (Badia Sazon Tropical… it’s addictive) I went here. Huge assortment of standard groceries as well as international. The isles are packed with a wide variety and for the most part, the people that work there are nice. Cashier had the typical rude «I hate my life» attitude, but everyone else was nice. Had a really great selection of fresh seafood as well as cheeses and dairy. Produce seemed reasonable. Close to me is Super Foodtown and they are much higher in price on produce.

Always Ridiculously crowded, especially on Food Stamps day. They do have quite the stock, but are a bit pricey since they know they’re the closest market for anyone past Marcy Avenue and before the Flushing stop on the J, M line .
This is pretty much where you are forced to go, if you don’t live on the «north side»

For what’s available in the area, Food Bazaar is definitely the place to go grocery shopping. They have the largest selection of groceries I’ve seen. The produce is pretty fresh and decently priced. If you’re from the West Coast and used to safeway/​vons/​albertsons/​etc, Food Bazaar is the next best thing if you live in Bushwick.

The prices/​selection here can’t be beat. However…
–At the beginning of each month, the lines are really long. All times of the day and night. After 5:00PM, it gets pretty crowded. Don’t even bother stepping foot in this place if it’s Thanksgiving, Christmas, Fourth of July, etc…
–Even though I’ve counted at least 20 (I could be wrong!) checkout lanes, there are usually only about 10 open. Which is probably part of the reason for the long lines.
–The baskets/​carts sometimes look like they can use a good cleaning.

Right across the street from where I live. I give the place 3 stars it’s okay. You can get better sales in other supermarkets but Compared to the very few supermarkets nearby in walking distance from me this is the best one. Very big selection to choose from. You can almost find everything you need. I suggest if you need to be in and out quick you go early in the morning or late. During the day expect to wait in line for a long time even the express lanes. This place gets ridiculously crowded I have even witnessed fist fights because of the lines and people trying to be slick and skip others. A big plus Is the post office inside. I buy money orders and bring packages to be sent out all the time then I do my food shopping!

I like their wild caught fishes. I might go to other supermarkets that might be close to me in the moment that I need something, but Food Bazaar is my favorite. The fruits and vegetables section is HUGE ! almost anything you can find here. Even veggies, fruits and items from other countries so this is a big plus. I like the dark Colombian Grapes, the Korean sweet potatoes and the fish department is quite good. Their wild caught fishes taste really good!, not to mention that I can cook ! .lol
If you are looking for the Pam is on aisle #2 and it might be in a display right in the middle of the aisle. It only took me 3 trips to that aisle to find it. Big supermarket, wide variety of items and big parking lot. It’s a great place to do the food shopping

I like this place. Ample parking. Bring a sweater for their colder sections (meat/​dairy, etc). :O) A LOT OF VARIETY!!! I’m a fan!

Great neighborhood supermarket filled with local large variety of Hispanic food items besides the normal stuff. Goya, coconut soda, guayaba juice.
A little cluttered with stuff overflowing into the aisles, with a little patience you’ll probably find what you’re looking for
2 cashier’s for shoppers with 15 items or less, this is a lifesaver as neighborhood shoppers go full out which creates some long check out lines

Food bazaar is freaking nightmare. It’s giant but the product selection is non-​existent. Stinky fish section of questionable freshness and origin? Check. Isles of 20 pound bags of rice? Check. Organic food? Never heard of such a thing. Variety of products? Not in this place.
They have 2 lb 11 oz box of cereal in case you wonder whether Kellog’s makes them that big. You don’t want to leave any of your 6 kids hungry tomorrow morning:
In case you decide to open a Chinese buffet stock up on 20 lbs bags of rice:
3 gallon canister of cooking oil. It’s more than all the oil bottles I’ve bought in the past 10 years:
You get point. It’s a giant store with humongous packages for big families buying bulk. I still don’t understand why load up the shelves with identical products when you can expand the variety and make extra profit? And for the brands I buy that they actually carry, they often run out.
My gf got 3 packages of fresh cut fruit (honey dew, pineapple, kiwi etc.), in the evening. She came home and all the fruit were spoiled, like fermented as if they were sitting on the shelved for a long time. One sticker said that the expiration date was actually 6 days ago. The other two were supposed to expire next day which makes me wonder when they were actually cut. My gf returned the fruit for the refund. The lady started lecturing her that ‘the fruit are cut daily in the morning and it’s better to buy it then’. Well lady, some people have to go to work in the morning and do their grocery shopping after it. I know I am never buying their ‘fresh cut’ fruit again.

Food Bazaar is an experience. I live across the street, so this is my main place. It is crazy, crowded and loud. The lines are long. Someone’s pushy abuelita WILL cut you in line at the coldcut counter.
But it has EVERYTHING you need. And they always seem to be blasting J Lo’s «On the Floor» in either Spanish or English every time I go. Sometimes I actually go because I feel like dancing. The sound system in there is amazing!
Good prices, good produce, great seafood. Terrible cheese selection unless you want queso fresco. There is a small organic section for dry food and a pretty large beer selection. I have to go to Trader Joe’s if I want something that would never be used in Latin food (things like Brie) but for most things you are set here.
Seriously, go in and try not to dance a leetle. You can’t do it!

This is ONE HELLUVA Supermarket.
If Whole Foods moved to the ghetto, surely this would be it.
Its like a mecca of Spanish grocery Stores.
When you walk into the giant grocery store, there are flags hanging from every corner of countries like Spain, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, etc… and of crouse an american flag.
Fair warning, this place gets CROWDED! like ridiculously crowded because they have everything here. The fruit and vegetable section is the size of the entire grocery store in Kew gardens! They have a respectable fish market. A butcher, an entire Room for all things meat! A deli counter. Aisles and Aisles of product and last but not least, a post office.
This place is one stop shopping if you need a stamp, some american cheese, fresh bread, and dog food.
Come early. After 10 am this place is a ZOO!

I don’t live in this area of BK but my friend has a car and shops here so whenever she extends an invite I am there. They have a fresh produce section, many good weekly sale items, and best of all a really large and clean seafood section. The staff in the back will weigh your seafood and also clean and debone your fish if you would like.
I wish they had a Food Bazaar closer to me: o (
