Flatlands Dental Care

Today was my first visit to this dental location, I waited in the front for 45 minutes before I was called, then I was told that the dentist will be with me in a little bit after they did the x rays, this turned out to be a 30 minutes wait on the dental chair, when the dentist finally came he took no longer than 5 minutes to do a cleaning, I feel as if they were not concerned as to why I was there but only the money they will make from you going there. The service was horrible!!!

Outstanding care and staff! The office is clean and has a friendly atmosphere. I no longer fear the dentist and actually get excited about my appointments. The staff their is sensational. They listen, they work fast and are very compassionate. They took great care of me every time i went. The dentist there go out of their way to explain everything to you. Accommodate you, best as they could. You’re seen almost instantly! Also I love how they have general dentist, pediatric dentist, orthodontics they basically have everything. They take almost all insurances, highly recommend to anyone!!! The best Dental office that I have ever been to.

I have never encountered a more rude and unprofessional staff. The front desk staff is not personable. Always curt and never welcoming. Ive been here plenty of times during the summer and always experience on average 1 ½−2 hour wait. I had an appointment on 10÷6÷15 with a new dentist Alex or Alec and his assistant was very rude and nasty. She didn’t announce my name when she was ready for me to come in the chair, she just ushered me in with her hands… This new dentist is definitely not gentle and I don’t even think he cares that he isn’t. Take your money, insurance card and teeth elsewhere!

Some of the staff members are rude and abrupt. I walked in once and said hello/​good morning and the staff member (white woman with an accent) looked at me as if I had two heads. This week, I received a call from the receptionist who was calling to schedule an appointment for my child. She wanted to schedule at the dentist convenience, not mine. She tried to sound professional but it wasn’t so easy for her. I called them back to schedule an appointment and the time wasn’t good for me. The receptionist didn’t wait for me to finish and quickly hung up the phone. Talk about unprofessional. Their are two staff members that are nice there otherwise, forget it. The doctor or hygienists female is not very patient.

There needs to be an option for no stars… I have read the other reviews and no one should say I guess its okay. This is medical care which can cost you your life. This was my second visit and I am plain disgusted. My 2 year old started complaining about her tooth, I called her assigned dentist the next morning and they gave me an appointment for a few days later. I had taken her on Thursday 3÷12÷15 to Flatlands Dental Care located at 7806 Flatlands Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11 236. I never complain, but the care of my child is extremely important. It was a horrid experience. I was not consulted about the care of my child. If asking is you child health meant to eliminate the need to ask on paper her allergies, that’s just awful. The office is set up with subdivided space setting and about 6 dental chairs. Which means No privacy, seems like an obvious HIPPA violation. The strangest however, the dentist jumps from person to person to clean the patients teeth and returns to finish the job. MONEY HUNGRY MUCH! Explains why there was no wait in the waiting area. They keep you waiting in the back. My daughter had cavities due to breastfeeding. My husband and I hadn’t noticed during brushing it because it was behind the teeth. The ignorant dentist, says, I need to numb. Without any explanations, she place a red jell on my child’s gums and in the corner of my eyes I see a large needle. I am like, what is that? She replies I told you I have to numb it. The assistant chimes in and said yes she told you. Numbing and using anesthesia on a child are two different things. Long story short my child was upset, in the process of calming her they both left the area without a word. I sat there for 5−8minutes before going out to the front desk. I said the doctors and assistant just left without any word. I guess I need to reschedule. On my way home, I must have missed the 3 calls placed by the ill mannered receptionist. They contacted my husband and asked him for us to return because the ignorant so called dentist said she made the hole in my child’s tooth larger leaving her nerve exposed. On my way back… From Queens, to the office the ghetto receptionist calls me to say, oh the doctor left. I called my insurance company right away and they changed her dental provider to another dentist to perform an emergency procedure. I did research online and found Soma Pediatric Dentistry located at 56 – 11 94^th St, Queens, NY 11 373. Its walking distance from Queens Center Mall. Soma reviews were absolutely on the spot. I called and spoke with a very knowledgeable receptionist who was extremely concerned about my daughter. They had no open appointments but told me to bring her immediately. We went and I absolutely loved from the kid friendly waiting area, superbly kid friendly caring staff. I was provided with options for care and given step by step information. During the procedure, without anesthesia, they were all cheering her on in between her crying and tears. My daughter was happy and got top notch dental care. I would put zero stars, I called them to find out about the insurance plans, which turned to a walk in visit, but since account information needed to be faxed to their office, I waited an hour for it to send, with nonstop calls with my insurance company. Turns out their fax wasn’t functioning. So we set up an appointment the next week, even though my name wasn’t showing up on their system. I come back and they won’t take my accepted insurance since Im not on their screen. What a waste of time, very unprofessional, even if it wasn’t their fault. I’m left with no other option to look somewhere else

I don’t like that the rooms are open and everyone is apart of your dental experience. …what ever happened to some privacy??? Also I made an appointment at 1:00pm, but waited a whole hour and a half to see the the dentist! As if I have time to sit around all day. They don’t respect your time at all. I will be looking for another dentist for sure

Dr. Zak is amazing! I have been going to her for some time now and I have no complaints. The office is nice and clean and their equipment is top of the line. It’s never a long wait, the staff is always very friendly and professional. Never had a problem! I highly recommend this office.

I just visited this dental office for the first time with my 12 year old son. I decided to go because of the late hours and that they accept my insurance. I was a little skeptical because there was only one review on Unilocal which gave a good review.
Upon walking in, I was amazed at how friendly the staff was. Furthermore, the office is so clean. We had an appointment at 5 and was seen almost immediately after filling out standard paperwork. Every examination room has a flat screen tv for the patient. The assistants were so gentle while taking the bitewing xrays which we all know can be uncomfortable.
I then met with the dentist Dr. Henry Ferdman for cleaning and exam. He made sure to ask me continuosly if I was okay while cleaning my teeth. The dr. explained to me that I had some fillings that wasn’t filled correctly. He showed me on the xray what needed to be done. He explained that it wasn’t an urgent matter but should be treated. I went to a dentist last year and he said I would need root canals in all of my teeth because it was too late for fillings. I never went back to him because I felt that he wanted to perform procedures that wasn’t legitimate. I’m glad that I didnt go back.
I have a follow-​up appointment next Wednnesday for fillings. I will update then. I think I have found my new dentist.
Oh and by the way he was extra gentle with my son and praised him for never having a cavity.
Also the office gives colgate bags to its new patients. The bags consisted of a Colgate 360 toothbrush with the tongue scraper on the back, a box of colgate toothpaste and floss.
I like Henry Ferdman give him a try. There is another Dentist who works there named Oksana Zak but I dont know how she is.

Didnt get all my services met, but i am satisfied. Went back in a week with an apponitment still had to wait 45min before i was seen. Its ok–
