I had a similar experience with my dining room table as the previous reviewer but I had purchased my table 4 ½ years ago. When I recently called FIND to tell them that I was having trouble opening and closing the table to use the extensions, Dennis sent his crew right over and assessed that it needed to be taken to their shop to be repaired. They picked it up the next day, a Saturday, and returned it the following Monday morning. Excellent customer service plus they have very cool furniture.

I came into Find last week looking for a new coffee table, and was immediately assisted by two very friendly and helpful salespeople. Walking around the floor I was amazed by all the markdowns. I ended up purchasing a super cool wood and iron table for more than half off the original price. Super happy with my Find!

Customer service can make or break an experience with a merchant/​vendor. Dennis at FIND earned this rating with quality customer service, which I very much appreciate.
My wife and I had been shopping for a dining room table for a quite awhile in the summer and fall of 2013. We had seen pieces that one of us liked, but never anything we could agree on… until we went to Find. We both really liked the Maryland Extension Table, but we weren’t crazy about the price. The search went on. And on. Around the holidays I reached out to Find and they had just sold the table, but were expecting another one to come in a few weeks later. It did. And it was on sale — 25% off! We went for it and were quite happy. Until the Spring when we used the leaves for the first time.
We opened up the table for the first time around Easter. The problem was, I assume, that it was sensitive to temperature change and the wood would expand and contract. We got the table open, but we couldn’t get it closed. I thought it needed to be shaved. One phone call and out came the crew to take a look. They didn’t think it needed a shave. I don’t recall how they tinkered with it, but they got the table opening and closing just fine. And closed it remained, until we opened it up for the holidays. And weeks later, when I went to take the leaves out — boom, same problem.
I called Find and admitted this was now just over a year that we had the table, but we only open it up for the holidays and each time we did, it got stuck. And this time it was seriously stuck! A few hours later, Dennis had a crew come pick it up. The table is back, shaved and looking like new. I was impressed with the quick turn around time and the record keeping they had on our experience. And I was very pleased they stood behind their customer service and product.
I’m very happy we purchased our dining room table here and would certainly recommend them to anyone considering a furniture purchase.

My apartment once was lost but now is found. Was empty but now is filled! Find Home Furnishings is a well-​curated warehouse of wonderfulness — must be at least 10,000 square feet of furniture. The selection is fairly eclectic — think Park Slope granola meets Meatpacking District industrial meets opulent antique store. Let’s call it… crunchy chic. It’s the perfect place to look if you’re trying to furnish a high-​ceilinged Brooklyn brownstone, for example. Some traditional pieces, some hip, all with an urban edge. I purchased a gorgeous Brazilian rosewood dining table last summer for $ 500 — it folds out from a tiny two-​seater to a nice-​sized six seater, which makes it perfect for my 200sq. ft. studio. Hands down, best furniture purchase I’ve ever made. The customer service is great, and because they have a workshop on the premises, they’ll accommodate most reasonable requests for custom pieces. An amazing grace — rather than tromping all over creation searching for a piece here and a piece there, find it all in one place here. A great find!

I just bought a 2-​piece hutch standing 8 feet high, with fun hardware and glass doors. Got it home, and it is just perfect. What I love is that I know it’s unique. Delivery was same day (!), friendly, inexpensive and expert. No pressure sales representative, cool music playing. Not cheap, but there are values to be had. There are a few stores like this around Brooklyn, I know, but if you’re in the market for furnishings and you like warm industrial, rustic or old Oriental, from quirky to quite conventional, don’t skip this place. Nice parking lot, good bike ride or worth the walk from transit.

I purchased a beautiful bistro table from FIND on Labor Day. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, this five-​star review stems from a subsequent demonstration of amazing customer service:
After we got the table home, we immediately noticed that it was INCREDIBLY temperature-​sensitive: if we set a dry cup down on it for a moment, it would leave a ring that we could not get out. We ate soup for dinner one night, and the heat from the soup bowl scorched the top. Same thing with a lukewarm pizza box! And every time I wiped the table down, bits of the finish seemed to come off with the cloth.
I called FIND and told them what had happened, just hoping for some advice on care and repair. They were incredibly apologetic and said that this had never happened before, immediately scheduled someone to come out and pick up the table, and re-​finished it for us, free of charge. The table now looks even better than it did when we first purchased it, and the top no longer gets destroyed at the slightest touch.

Wait… what? Places like this exist in NYC? This place reminds me of a polished off version of the architectural salvage in my home town. I walked in, didn’t buy anything, but it just felt cool to see all the beautiful refinished furniture. If only I had a respectable home that I could afford in New York, I would pepper it with some fine furnishings from a place like this. Bravo for making me believe that people can actually create homes in NYC, not just stay here.

Really disappointed in this place, and I really wanted to like it.
The hub and I were looking to be «inspired» by the … findings at FiND. Not sure why we thought FiND would be different then, say, a large-​chain furniture seller, but we were hoping it would be. It wasn’t. Perhaps the difference was that at least at a bigger chain they say «hello» to you when you walk in.
It was odd. The place was not busy. The place had three people working there at the time (from what I could tell). Yet, we were not greeted, and we were never spoken to, to the degree in which I turned to my partner after we walked out and said, «Wow, good thing we didn’t need any help with anything.»
The furniture at FiND is really ordinary. There are no surprises here, and everything is overpriced. (I’ve worked in the furniture world for about a decade in Boston, and I feel comfortable saying that it’s overpriced.) I was hoping, since this is the up-​and-​coming Gowanus ‘hood, there would be a few funky finds, but no such luck. The store itself is basically a well-​styled (in areas) version of a Bernie & Phyl’s or one of those other places, only with higher prices and lackluster service.

I ordered a table by way of the internet from FIND. It was shipped to me in a timely manner. However, the glass top had been chipped during manufacturing. I called Haley at FIND to let her know it was of inferior quality. She asked me to send photos, which I did. That was all she needed to put the wheels in motion by contacting the shipper, a glass replacement firm, and ordering my new piece. The company Hayley contacted for the glass replacement was fabulous and the glass is perfect. I’m thrilled with the service and especially with Hayley’s attitude throughout the process. Her «can-​do» attitude and friendly disposition made this problem almost a pleasure. She went on vacation at the time the glass was delivered but checked in on me when she got back just to be sure I was pleased.
I highly recommend FIND!

FIND Home Furnishings response to my review is inaccurate. They could have easily made my experience with their store a satisfying one had they made any effort to work with me. Sadly, they did not. Again, I strongly urge any prospective buyer of furniture from FIND NOT to pay for furniture in advance of receiving it or risk the chance of losing money AND then have FIND Home Furnishings refuse to do any further business with them. The furniture is great, just be wary of advanced payments to this company.

Updating this review to four stars because I bought a couch here today after couch-​shopping for literally I am not kidding years. After it arrives this could go all the way, but I’m withholding my five star rating to see how all this making-​and-​delivering goes. I bought a gorgeous Deco-​ish sofa that comes in a 81″ size that is perfect for my smaller townhouse living room. They had exactly the fabric I was picturing in my head. For about $ 2000, it’s a very stylish sofa.

Find does have some really interesting stuff, from authentic pieces to modern reproductions. My friends have purchased a number of pieces from Find, and I can attest, their delivery service is first rate. Admittedly, there are a few things that have a striking resemblance to the current lineup at Restoration Hardware, but the prices are fair given the size, finish, and materials used. The staff is super friendly and willing to answer any questions you might have.
Not the most affordable store in town, but you definitely get what you pay for!

Fantastic furniture for home, garden, apt. The help is courteous and professional. I went for a bench and left with a mirror, a chair and the bench.

Find has a terrific selection of classic furniture to suit most tastes – definitely worth a look. The sales staff were not only friendly, but didn’t push the sale, and even moreso, spent a tremendous amount of energy (not to mention patience) to make sure that we were satisfied with our couch – and we are! The emphasis at Find seems to be on quality, and while some other reviewers may gripe that this comes at a slightly higher price tag than a discount store or national chain, any discerning shopper will appreciate the experience and knowledge of the sales staff in assisting them in their purchase of what are truly heirloom pieces of furniture.

I walked in here once and asked if they do antique furniture repair, and was told that they do. Awhile later, I called and was advised by «Lael» to take photos and email them. I went around taking lots of photos, wrote the whole thing up and sent it along. A week later I got an email saying «we’ll get back to you next week.» That was 3 months ago and I’m still waiting.

There are a few nice things here. But, walking through the store, I was surprised to see a desk I actually have. Mine is a campaign-​style desk from Crate and Barrel — hardly fancy. It cost $ 999 there (and still does). This one is EXACTLY the same desk, except that it’s black stain instead of brown, and with nickel hardware instead of brass. And, this one had a little information sheet in the drawer with some guy’s picture on it purporting to be all about handcrafted-​in-​Brooklyn furniture. Um, no, it’s either from Crate and Barrel or from the same factory in China where they got it. And it was $ 1295 at FIND. Their upholstered stuff is very so-​so quality — cushions do not feel like high-​quality foam. There are a few decently-​made cabinets and some OK-​looking lamps, but seriously, I would ask to see the import documents for anything if you actually care where it comes from. My point is, I’m sure some of their stuff is fine, but it is in no way a FIND, and is in fact pretty overpriced.

I bought my coffee table here — a Moroccan table made of cedar wood and bone — and I adore it. Everything is a little pricey, but the selection is funky and eclectic, and the pieces are well made. If I was richer, I’d absolutely buy lots here. As it is, I’m hoping to save up for one or two more special things.
