Procedures: Dental cleaning and Teeth Whitening.
I came to Empire last month after many years of avoiding the dentist and just based on the utter lack of knowledge of the damage that not going to a dentist can do to teeth. In short, I was in dire need of a cleaning. I am talking over (hold on to your food) FIVE YEARS worth of plaque buildup and food-​staining habits. I know, gross. I should note that I am not insured and paid out-​of-​pocket (which explains the long stretch of not seeing a dentist) and I came here based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews and the prices for their services.
OK, to the review: I decided to come to Empire after speaking to the receptionist, Tatiana, and receiving a few quotes of their services. She was a wonderful receptionist; warm, attentive, clear, and polite. We also talked for awhile after my appointment. She’s great. I came to the office which is tucked away on a street down Coney Island Ave. It is small and no frills but a very clean place that gets the dental job done. I was early for my appointment and was the only waiting patient which is rare because I was told this place gets very busy. I later met Dr. Bartov. All-​around great dentist. Very professional, cordial, charismatic, and knows his stuff (he went to Tufts University). This guy is also young (as well as the rest of his staff) which makes it easier to relate to him. He spent some time educating me on some dental anatomy and hygiene while showing me images on a screen. I felt like I was in a classroom for a bit and I learned more about my teeth in this single visit than I ever had in several dental visits in the past. He told me that plaque begins to accumulate after 1 – 1 ½ months after a cleaning (!!!). I went FIVE YEARS O_​O It was a bit of long cleaning because of this fact and I ended up clogging one of the instruments (lol) but he did a phenomenal job. My teeth felt like they got a MASSIVE facelift.
Shortly after, I had the teeth whitening procedure with Maria, the dental assistant. Very nice and she is experienced, which is a plus. This procedure is… an experience lol. I did 2 sessions (you normally get 3 but I only needed 2), 15 minutes each and she brought my teeth to the whitest shade on the scale (I believe it was A1). The peroxide makes your teeth extremely sensitive so those 15 minutes felt like an eternity but the results are worth it ten-​fold. At the end of my appointment, Dr. Bartov presented me with a take-​home whitening kit (with peroxide levels not sold in stores) for when I want to touch things up at home in the future as well as a baggy with a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and their business card.
I’ll be back in a few months for another cleaning. This is a genuinely great dental office and no, I will NEVER go this long without a cleaning again. Lesson learned.

Clean, professional, friendly. Great service. A visit to the dentist is always very annoying me, considering that the last time almost a year ago, but I’m glad it turned to this clinic. At first I was afraid, but at the end of treatment almost fell asleep. Everything was great. Anatoly Bartov all done quickly and professionally in a welcoming and friendly manner.

The BEST dentist ever hands down!!! I had a cracked molar with a cavity and much nerve pain. I dealt with the pain for almost a year because I hated going to the dentist. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I found Empire Dental NY and took a chance. Dr. Bartov and his wonderful team made me feel welcome and comfortable. Throughout the root canal (my first!) they made sure that I was relaxed and experiencing no pain! His office is beautiful, clean with state of the art technology. If your looking for a great dentist, look no further!

Dr. Bartov was very nice and friendly and definitely knows what he’s doing. The receptionist was also very friendly and helpful. I most definitely recommend him.

Had a consultation today with Dr. Anatoly Bartov and I was highly satisfied with my visit. Dr. Bartov answered all my concerns and thoroughly examined my teeth. The receptionist and dental assistant were very welcoming and professional as well. I am looking forward to my next visit!

Dr. Bartov and his staff are gracious, and every step of the way is explained. It was one of the most pleasant trips I’ve taken to the dentist in a long time.

I had to have some fillings redone last year, so I went in search for a place near me and didn’t think I would find a clinic so accommodating and friendly. Empire Dental is tucked into the corner of a seemingly random residential block. You walk in and see a waiting area that’s much smaller than anywhere you’ve probably been before, but I don’t want to mislead you into thinking that’s a bad thing. I think that the aforementioned encourages a relaxing ambiance –it’s homely, and doesn’t give off the common nervous «corporate» vibe to make it seem like Dr. Bartov is running a mill for the tooth fairy, a feeling all too familiar at other dentists. As far as cleanings, his hygienist does a great job, not too painful but very thorough. Never felt a tinge of pain while getting the nerve block injections or drilling. Scheduling is done properly, at least in my experience, so as to never have to wait long to be seated. And once you’re in the chair, Dr. Bartov works quickly but you never feel like he’s rushing you or himself. The bathrooms are clean, too! Overall, highly recommended!

Great experience, found this place thru ZocDoc and I read review on Unilocal and it is very helpful. Dr. Anatoly Bartov knows what he is doing. This place is a one stop shop. No kidding, they get things done the way you wanted. Maria is awesome. Every time I when there, she always provide the best service with smile no matter what time I go. Tatiana is also wonderful because she help me with scheduling my time and keep me updated. I can said that this place definitely works as a team and they communicate with each other. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone i know.

When I was trying to find a solution for my root canal, I found this place through this site. Tatiana, the receptionist I had answered all my questions to her best knowledge and with her kind and satisfying attitude. Normally the atmosphere that I get was uncomfortable, however, this was the best clinic I’ve been to. It’s my favorite becuase Dr. Bartov, who was very good at his job. When he woked on my root canal it gave me virtually no discomfort at all. After the treatment of my root canal, I was surprised how pleasant this treatment was. I highly recommend this place.

Dr. Bartov is a Top dentist with a very kind way. You are in excellent hands with this dentist. His staff is wonderful and caring. . You will not be making a mistake by going to this dentist.

Very honest, seems to have his clients beat interest in mind. The whole staff is friendly and are willing to answer an questions. Will go to this dover as my go to dentist for all futre dental care.

Omg Dr. Anatoly Bartov IS AMAZING !
I came in with a swollen face and thought it was the end of the world. he reassured me that everything would be okay & explained to me everything that was happening. The ladies at the front desk we’re amazing as well ! I am definitely coming back to him & I advise you guys to check him out !!!

I have always been afraid of dentist but finding Dr. Bartov was a true blessing. He was thorough, straight forward, funny and a true professional. He kept his promises when he told me I would feel no pain. This was such a pleasant experience… he played some calming music and I almost fell asleep. The office was nice and clean. The staff was sweet and very friendly. I will be definitely make this my family dentist.

Dr. Bartov and his staff far exceeded my expectations. From my first call, the receptionist Tatyana made a strong impression with how things are handled at Empire. She’s warm, very efficient and welcoming which was a significant contrast from the dental office I almost ended up going to. (Yikes! Turns out they have a dismal 1.5 stars on Unilocal.People don’t realize how you’re treated even at the front desk is so telling about the culture of care at an office!)
Now Dr. Bartov– He’s a very knowledgeable dentist that takes the time to answer all of your questions without rushing you out of the room. I had a million questions and was pretty nervous about getting treated. He puts you at ease and shows you how he can help you. No unnecessary up selling, no nickel and diming, impressive display of works he’s already done (needless to say I’ll be doing my cosmetic work here too) Plus for me the cool factor of a young tech savvy dentist with a modern office just works.
Now I had a mouth full of problems and was amazed with the results of my deep cleaning. The dental hygenist does a fantastic job as she is thorough.
I tend to scrutinize reviews with all high ratings because no one needs fakes steering them in the wrong direction. I remember being so apprehensive with a painful mouth trying hard to find the right dentist to trust. I’m thrilled to report that the five star accolades on here for Dr. Bartov and his team are no exaggeration.
I’m so happy with my experience at Empire Dental and will continue to come here for my dental care from now on.

This place is just great.
It’s close to where I currently live so it’s convenient too. The staff at the front desk are so nice.
They’re very welcoming and they don’t treat you like they have better things to do.
The assistant is such a sweet girl she’s one of the main reasons why I like coming here.
The doctor is very good at what he does, he’s professional, he’s compassionate and he knows how to treat his patients well. He’s young but you can tell he’s experienced. The fact that he explains every thing he’s doing it just boasts that he knows what he is doing very well. This is by far my favorite dentist. Can’t wait for my cleaning appointment.

This is a dental God! I went in completely terrified and practically shaking (to say I hate dentists is to say nothing). I walked out convinced that my fears of dentistry are without merit. The doctor is gentle and kind, unlike most dental monsters I’ve dealt with in the past. The assistant is so sweets and the front desk is beyond wonderful: sweet, accommodating and courteous. I cannot say enough great things about this office and definitely encourage anyone who is terrified of dentists to give them a try!

I found Dr. Bartov on Zocdoc and honestly I was very pleased with my visit. I was completely taken by surprise by how friendly the staff and doctor was. Made me feel very comfortable and informed me of my situation very thoroughly.
They also have great technology that I’ve never seen before!

Dr. Bartov is a cool dude. Personable and professional. And so is the staff.
I went in with wisdom-​tooth pain, but before that people I’ve spoken to said that some dentists would rather pull wisdom-​teeth at first change and before it is necessary to do so. Not so with Dr. Bartov, that put me at ease. I went home with a prescription to keep the area bacteria and pain free.

Dr Bartov is the most amazing dentist I have met. Having gone through 5 years of braces numerous tooth removals and fillings with numerous other dentists, I wish I found him earlier. He is intelligent, highly knowledgeable, caring, patient and understanding of every case. Never misses a beat, strives for perfection for your teeth, and explains everything he is doing and looking for in detail. Answers all questions with ease and has a phenomenal way of putting you at ease. I recommend him to every and anyone needing dental work!
