I have to say, I have never experience such poor customer service in my life. I purchased a vermeil plated initial necklace about two years ago at Brooklyn Flea. I absolutely loved it and wore it everyday. Overtime, the vermeil wore off and the necklace that was once a gold color was silver. In April, I stopped back by the Flea and inquired about repair service, and they allowed me to leave my necklace with them. She let me know they usually do repairs in batches, but it would take a few weeks but it would be sent to me once it was done. A month later, I emailed a few times just to get an update on the repair status and never heard back. I also texted the number on their website once and left a voicemail, but no one ever got back to me. At the end of May I had emailed twice and sent one text and one voicemail which all went unanswered. I let it go after that, and figured she would reach out to me once the repair was complete. In late June, there was still no word so I decided to try to call and get an update on the repair status. I finally got her on the phone, and to my dismay she was defensive from the start, letting me know that the cost of re-plateing was too high at this time, and that she didn’t know when the repair would be complete. I asked if she could just send me the necklace back so I could try to find someone local to facilitate my repair as I recently moved out of Brooklyn. She then told me to email them. I let her know I had already tried to email and reach out but no one had ever followed-up and that I would prefer to leave the info with her directly over the phone, and she proceeded to yell at me because she apparently responds to all customer inquiries and even checks her spam folder. All around it was so upsetting. All I really wanted to know was when the repair would be complete, and she yelled at me about how she is not able to find someone to re-plate the necklace for a fair cost and that she does respond to emails. Over the phone she agreed to send me my necklace back and refund the money I had paid for the repair, so I did end up emailing her directly to give her the info on where to send my necklace. Maybe I was out of line, but I have never experienced such bad customer service and with I emailed her I included the following: I am very upset that I was berated over the phone, and I appreciate your understanding that I have reached out to you several times with no response. I have included the unanswered emails and text message below, but I am not able to show proof of an unanswered voice mail message. I am a paying customer and it’s not ok that I was yelled at when I simply wanted to know the status of my repair as it has been two over two months with no update at all. If you were not in a position to take on the repair in a timely manner, it would have been helpful to have that communicated to me throughout the repair process if not from the beginning. She emailed me back saying replying with two words, «Got it». I received that email from her on June 25 and it is now July 17. I sent her one more email last week to see if I could get an update on when my necklace would be returned. I still haven’t heard back. It’s such a shame, I really loved that necklace and I wore it everyday. I honestly would have waited longer or paid more for the repair, but she was so hateful and rude to me and I probably will never see the necklace I owned and paid for ever again.

Elma is disgustingly rude. I came in contact with her during the Brooklyn Flea on Saturday. I have never been treated like that and it was hugely disappointing. I have never felt the need to write bad reviews in my life but I will definitely be telling everyone in the area about this as well as my colleagues. I work in corporate luxury brands and this is absolutely no way to treat a customer especially if you are the owner. The service reflects the brand. Simple as that. Bye Felicia

We went to Elma to design our wedding rings. I wanted a ruby and diamond ring that isn’t too flashy for everyday wear. Elma got everything right. She is knowledgeable of stone and settings and thinks of each piece for long term use. Choose Elma!

In addition to the fact that the Elma Blint store is near-perfectly curated, with a constant rotation of incredible pieces, Elma is particularly accommodating and helpful! She has a great selection for all price ranges! So happy to finally have a go to jewelry store in the neighborhood!

I stopped by their stand at Brooklyn Flea on Saturday, November 29 and I was ignored after making several attempts to see a lovely necklace. A gentlemen did come over and the sales person told him to go back to the rings. After a few more minutes of standing there she came over and I asked to see a necklace and she just said its $ 50.00. My response was«I asked to see it not the price.» I just walked off, because my plastic is good and my cash is green and I will not give either to someone that is rude to me.

We went to Elma for our wedding rings. Elma was very helpful and made sure we got what we wanted. She was very helpful and went above and beyond both in designing our rings but also in finding a replacement diamond for my wife’s engagement ring. We love our rings!

I really like some of the designs in the jewelry a lot. But when I went to inquire on the items, the material, I found that the owner(and designer) was super rude to me. I asked her about the material of a bracelet at the BK Flea. She told me it was brass and cannot be used in water. So I asked for a discount because the bracelet has tarnished dents and marks, and she was super dismissive and rude. I said«Ok, is there another bracelet?» she dismissed me with a no. I bought the bracelet, and came back next week to see a bunch more of its kind. Cool jewelry, not very customer service.

When I bought my necklace at the Brooklyn Flea I was assured Elma stands behind her products. About a month later the chain broke after normal and occasional wear. I contacted them in October and was first told they would ship a whole new necklace out. Nothing… Contacted again in December told the whole story over, was told they would ship replacement chain immediately. Nothing Reached out in February and was told I was emailing to the wrong address and they told me to use( ). I checked back and had sent emails to that address. Here we are in March and I have called, emailed and I think I am done with them. I WOULDNOTBUY!!! SODISAPPOINTED!!!
