I have to say this first! BOMBPLAYLIST!!! Drake, missy Elliot, mob deep, Bob Marley, and so many other greats. I was grooving the entire time I was eating. I just had to scream that really quick. Ambience: casual, chill spot, lunch type feel. Indoor and outdoor seating. Cramped inside and outside too. Outdoor chair are very uncomfortable. Food: I ordered the 8oz dumont burger and it was very good. Fries are good too. I was introduced to a spicy pickle which was very good. Staff: very nice. A bit flighty but friendly and efficient. I like this place but not a staple for me. Nothing too spectacular although I would like to taste the bacon Mac & Cheese and get a few extra rounds of that playlist.

Went there Friday night, had a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a coke. Service was prompt, food was delicious, staff was super friendly. Will definitely be going back! A+

Waited 25 minutes for a burger and get home to discover the patty was completely raw. Inedible. Paid $ 13 for fries.

This used to be one of my favorite burger places in the city, especially the other location. But after my previous experience there, I definitely won’t be going back. The food amazingly compared to everything else about this place now, was still really solid. But there are enough great burgers in the city and even just in Williamsburg, to not have to come back here. The service here is really pretty awful. We did have a toddler with us, but the restaurant wasn’t busy at all and she didn’t cause any problems for the waitstaff(not that they seemed to care or put in any extra effort, besides one woman, who seemed to be the hostess) First, one waiter wanted to seat us in a cramped little corner outside, the one place where the awning didn’t cover next to the trash cans(which reeked on this hot and humid NYC summer day), so we asked if we could sit in the other corner under the awning. No effort required on his part, since we hadn’t even actually sat down yet. So we moved, though he didn’t seem happy about it, and the nicer hostess started to help us. That corner was also next to some pungent trash cans, so we decided to move inside. The hostess was really nice about it. Fine up until this point, though I was wondering why this place seemed really neglected compared to the last time we’d been there – sticky tables, menus, dried ketchup splatters here and there that no one seemed to bother to clean. Inside is all tall stools and really not little kid friendly, but it was pretty much empty, and felt better than being really uncomfortable outside. When we got our food the waiter, just plopped them down without saying a word or looking at us. When my husband asked, if this was the medium rare burger, since we’d ordered two, his attitude was«yeah, sure, whatever.» Fine, not a big deal. The bigger problem was when we went to pay our bill, which we had to go up the bar and ask for since no one bothered to ever come check in on us for a really long time. When we got out bill there was an 18% tip already added, which was not a big deal, but strange since we were just a party of three. So my husband, asked if this is the new policy here. The waitress who was behind the bar now, said she didn’t know and she’d check for us, because she seemed to think it was odd too. She asked the waiter and then they started snickering together, and she came back and ignored us and acted liked we’d never asked her. So my husband(really nicely) asked her again while we waited for our credit card and to sign, and her reply was«Oh, I don’t know. I just started my shift. I guess they can do that sometimes.» The service here is really bad and the waitstaff is rude(except that one hostess!). The place just feels kind of depressing compared to how it used to be, which is probably why it was pretty empty. Decent food though. Maybe getting your food to-go isn’t a bad option so you can avoid the servers.

I wasn’t really a fan of the burger. It was OK, but I was not getting any flavors out of it. The drinks were way too tiny for my liking and the seating was odd. This place just didn’t really work for me.

Come check out this place if you like eating garbage! Seriously! I’m not saying don’t go, because some people have a thing for eating trash! So if you like that then this place will appeal to you greatly. I always say, if it’s something you like to do and it’s not hurting anyone, why not? However, this place hurts everyone else who doesn’t like eating garbage. Plus they charged for a refill of a club soda during lunch– bad for business guys! So now you’re gettin’ Unilocaled! And the place is filthy. Steer clear, sailors! Nothing else to say about it so don’t ask!

A seasoned pro when it comes to ordering the veggie option, I hoped the Chickpea Burger would be more flavorful falafel than bland burger. It tasted like unseasoned cardboard — and so so dry! Even the quite yummy yogurt sauce couldn’t moisturize this arid experience. If your hand is forced, I’d add a flavorful blue cheese and line-up a few gallons of water. Seating inside for a larger group(5 people) is poor if you can’t nab the large table. On the positive side; the fries were good and our server was super cool.

Ive been trying the different highly rated burger places in New York and remember this being on a list of top 30 burgers in USA(coming in at 23rd I believe). It wasnt cheap and after tax and tip a 5oz burger with fries will cost you around 17 – 20 dollars. The burger itself was very plain and quite salty. If asked ever I honestly couldn’t seperate this burger from other average burgers. Ive had better ones at normal pubs and as such cant see the hype behind this place. The friest were also just okay. Either way this place is all hype, save your money and go elsewhere if youre just in the mood for a burger. If you want a top burger try umami burger or burger joint instead.

I’ve been on a burger tour of NYC for about 4 months now and I have to say that Dumont is top 5. I ordered their Dumont Burger and everything came A Le Cart which was annoying. The cramp seating is also kind of annoying but I guess that’s Williamsburg! It was very well decorated and would be an ideal first date spot Although it is usually super packed the service was quick. I got my burger in 15 minutes and my goodness. The patty itself is the reason why I gave it 4 stars. It’s thick, juicy, and full of flavor. It’s the kind of burger where you don’t want to put anything on it and just enjoy the beef. Try it out, it will take you to burger heaven

Its fallen off immensely over the last few years. What used to be a neighborhood gem is now just another restaurant you should walk by on your way somewhere else. I’ve been going for 10 years and tonight was just so mediocre, Im only giving them one more chance ever — maybe. Granted, Im just a guy who lives nearby and puts ketchup on everything, so maybe don’t listen to me and try yourself. The quality of the ingredients just isnt the same. The cooks don’t seem to care, and this is a reflection of ownership who just see this place as a cash cow. My burger was technically medium-ish, even though I ordered medium rare. What used to be black on the outside and pink inside freshly ground prime beef is now just a lump of grey, average beef. Looks like the patties were ground and formed 24+ hours ago. Brioche was slightly stale. The vegetables have been awful for years. Homemade pickles are solid. Fries are very good. But you had one job Dumont Burger. One job: make a really good burger. It isnt really good anymore. Burger Guru absolutely, consistently smashes this joint now. They are coasting on Unilocal reviews from 2009. It either needs new management in 2016 or it needs to close and leave us with our fond memories.

Through the recommendation of another foodie, I popped in here on a Monday evening around 9pm or so and found this place comfortably full. We posted up at the bar and our bartender/waiter was ok for the most part. He didn’t seem like making small talk but was attentive if we needed something. Getting to the food, we tried the fried pickles(doughy batter and crunchy as I had hoped) to start which were a good starter. I had to go for the dumont burger(bacon cheeseburger cooked medium, ended up more on the rare side) that was large and in charge, flavorful with a large side of fries that was also ok for the most part. After a beer each and tax and tip, this was fairly priced for what we ordered. Overall, the experience was very casual and the joint is tiny but welcoming and worth a try if you are in the area, but I wouldn’t travel for it. Buon appetito.

The burger here deserves 4 stars, but because I was in the bathroom half of the following day, I have to give it 3. I’m attributing the illness to the rare meat. I ordered medium rare so I guess I could have sent it back, but I love my meat bloody so I wasn’t going to complain and then worry about having to eat a hockey puck. Rare over medium well any day of the week. Despite it not being cooked to my order and making me ill, the burger itself was quite good. Quality bun, nice thick patty, plenty of cheese, and fresh accouterments, it had the making of a top tier burger. The meat, while too rare having the consistency of chop meat, was lightly seasoned, if at all, letting the natural flavors shine through. The fried pickles here are off the hook. Thinly sliced bread and butter chips are beer battered, friend to a perfect golden brown and served with a side of Chipotle mayo. Pure perfection. Somewhat of a fried pickle connoisseur, I prefer chips to spears, beer batter to cornmeal crusted, and bread and butter to kosher dill. So these were my ideal fried pickle. The onion rings are also very good. These didn’t appear to be beer battered but maybe they were. They had a different consistency than the pickles. Seasoned with salt after frying, they were greasy, salty, and everything I want from an onion ring. Had I not felt sick the next day I would have given DuMont burger a glowing review. I’d still come back, regardless. I need to try their boozy shakes.

Updating review — i’ve been ordering from here since they opened in 2005(and had been going to The original Dumont since it opened) tonight they served us raw rotten brown meat and then I called them for a replacement and they sent another pair of raw old brown meat blobs. It was the first time I’ve sent anything back in 11 years and I can’t believe they didn’t replace it with something better. I can’t order burgers from here anymore. But I give an extra star for the fries which are still wonderful.

Doesn’t get much more hipster then drinking an IPA out of a mason jar. This place is decent, good atmosphere, Great music and good food. I got the turkey burger and my date got a regular hamburger. The burgers were cooked well but were a little small, but overall good. There were lots of fries on the plate though and they were really good. They have a moderate selection of beer and it wasn’t too pricey. Not the best place I’ve ever been to but not the worst! I would go back for sure to have a beer and a burger.

Burger was delicious and cooked perfectly! Medium as requested and tasted amazing! Onion rings could have been battered in cardboard for all the flavor they had. Make that LACK of flavor. Very weird.

It kills me because this used to be my favorite place in Williamsburg to get burgers. The food is still good, but I can definitely see a decline from the years. The boozy milkshakes are extraordinary. The thing to do is order a burger with some onion rings. Make sure you have some chipotle mayo to accompany it. Sadly, service is not up to par. A party of four seated in a corner area where we aren’t even facing each other? Not really the best organization.

Man, I’m really disappointed with this trip. We’ve been to DuMont a number of times and it used to be great. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing, or maybe it just isn’t great anymore. There were elements that were pretty good — the Hot Toddy and DuMont salad — but our main entrees were really lacking. The Burger Stand Classic had more pepper than I’ve ever had on a burger or really anything — and lacked salt. The server didn’t ask how we wanted the burger prepared, either. We didn’t even think of it until we realized she asked other parties how they wanted their burger. Maybe that’s their thing, I dunno. My chicken wasn’t that tasty, sadly. It was meh. DuMont, please be good again! Or maybe we were just unlucky.

I use to order from Dumont almost every week. The food is quality, however the service has lacked in a big way. Delivery for a burger and fries that costs $ 25.00, should come to your door warm and fresh. About every time Ive ordered from here the past month or two, my food was delivered about 45 minutes late and cold. Its unfortunate because I love this place. Dining in is great. Ditch delivery.

I love this place. The burgers are awesome– probably my favorite of the NYC/BK burger restos. And their fries are divine. It’s a bit pricey and the mac and cheese is a little over the top– too much cheese sauce and a little too liquid-y for my liking.

My bf’s favorite burger place, my favorite soup place. Lol. Well I gotta say they have pretty good burger, but I’m more a soup person whenever there’s soup options. Especially for a cold winter day, their creamy soup really warms u up and comfort my heart. Get there dumont burger! My bf is an expert and picky for pizza and burgers, this is the place he goes whenever he wants burger. It really won’t let you down. We have been this place for bunch of times. I don’t think it’s warm enough for winter time, I do doubt if they have heater, it’s warmer than cold outside but still u don’t get cozy warm feeling. Another thing I don’t like is the Asian waiter. Like I said, we have been in this place for bounce of times throughout the year, the Asian waiter is always there and I never seen his happy face. He’s always grumpy with his service and always takes our plates away in a hurry even its empty in the restaurant. Makes me feel he just wants us pay and get out of the restaurant. But other waiters or waitresses I have been served there are all cool.

Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place for burgers. The atmosphere here isn’t meant for a sit down meal, unless you come here alone. I came here with three other friends and we were all very uncomfortable. The fried pickles were not that great, Mac and cheese was okay. The burger I ordered had a peppercorn dressing; my first bite I felt the peppercorn was way too overpowering. Also our waitress gave us an attitude when we wanted to split the bill on a few cards. Won’t be back here.

The interior is that of a simple, slightly tarted up wooden Irish bar. For a hipster place it feels fairly ‘mainstream’ like bareburger or a beer garden even if there was a wooden bench full of dudes that looked like a set of swatches for a picnic tablecloth(I pick the smaller check, big checks make the table look fatter.) Some love the onion rings and hate the burger. Some have great or terrible luck with it. I liked everything but the onion rings. The half and half is a good and subtle milkshake. I was raised in the east coast on macaroni and cheese out of a box so I always find the Southern style mac and cheese to be offputting with a vaguely furry texture. The Dumac and cheese side was southern style, but I liked the salty contrast from the overfried, tooth cracking chips of bacon in it. I ate it with addicted fervor so there must be something to it. The 5 oz burger came and it was tender and rightly cooked, with that usual slightly gamey smell. I thought it rated quite highly. But the onion rings were basically thick cut hunks of lightly cooked sweet onion with a light batter fry over it. ‘Rustic style,’ which works if you love the taste of onion. Again, I maybe ate onion rings in a school cafeteria or bowling alley too many times and love them heavy on the batter and light on the onion taste.

Nothing special. Came here with a group of 4, already not a good idea because the seating is slightly stupid. It was a very uncomfortable dinner. The table and walls were sticky and dirty because my knee touched the wall and my pants got dirty right away. We ordered fried pickles, Mac and cheese, burgers, fries, and onion rings. Everything was ok nothing was special enough for me to come back here. Also the waitress was extremely rude towards the end. She avoided us for a long time and when she gave us the check she threw it down on the table and walked away without saying anything. Won’t be back.

DuMont Burger is a cozy joint with a warm atmosphere filled with that greasy fry smell. I ordered the 5oz. DuMont burger(medium) with monterey jack cheese. It was perfect and worth the long wait(our waiter sent us the wrong plates at first). They are very generous on the fries, too! I will definitely come back and try out their other entrees.

By far one of the best burgers I have ate in Williamsburg! The fried pickles appetizer with chipotle mayo is delicious to share(large portion to share with 3 – 4 people). The burger was made a perfect medium-rare and literally melts in your mouth. Got the burger with a side of hand-cut fries which were also delicious. My only complaint is that our service could have been a little bit more attentive, but other than that the food is absolutely amazing. Come here for one of the best burgers in Williamsburg /Brooklyn.

I was in the mood for a burger so my friend and I stopped by. It was 6 o’clock on a Monday evening and didn’t have many customers. We sat right at the bar and were handed menus. About 20 minutes later we had to ask for them to take our order. Another 20 minutes later it finally came and I wasn’t impressed at all. The burger had no taste at all. I wouldn’t be coming here again. The 2 stars is for the look of the place, they good music they played and the location.

Took a risk in picking this place, but it was worth it! I came here for my friend’s birthday(as a group of four) back in February and this place was great! This place looks more like a pub than it is a restaurant, and it is fairly small. However the food was exactly the opposite. For a $ 14 burger, this was a huge portion that came with tomatoes, pickles, and fries. I ordered my burger medium well and they did a good job cooking the burger. I really enjoyed their fries and their burger was just so savory and tender. It is one burger that I can never forget the taste of. I really loved the pickles and cucumber too as they were very flavorful and crunchy, and not dull. My friend and I ordered the boozy shakes and found it interesting how it was made outside the establishment. She came through the door with our drinks and the price was not that bad at all(around $ 8– $ 9). The boozy shakes, you can hardly tell that there is any alcohol in it which I enjoy. Cost: a bit pricey but worth the portion Atmosphere: casual, above average in loudness, very hipster like Food Quality: amazing and delicious If you have a small group of friends who loves burgers, I highly recommend this place.

I had heard of this place was good and they did not disappoint. I started with the fried pickles($ 8) and greens beans and they were excellently fried in a light and very crispy batter with a great dipping sauce. As for the meal I got the chickpea burger which came with cucumbers tomato onion and lettuce with a tzatiki sauce and it was excellent and extremely fresh! I got the salad with it but the fries are also really good. I tried the regular DuMont burger and they are very thick thick and juicy pieces! Each burger came with a side for about $ 14. Overall very good with great outdoor seating and fast service!

DuMont, you’ve been very good to me over the years, but now I think it’s time for me to move on. Your onion rings still blow my mind, but the bun you use for the mini burger is a sad half-measure(it looks like it was pulled off of the Hostess bread clearance shelf – deflated and slightly squashed). The first time it happened, I thought«maybe it’s a mistake, maybe they ran out of buns and had to run to the bodega.» But the next time… and the time after that… Dumont, you are like the lover who first courted me with flowers, and now is only stopping by for a quickie. I wish it could be different. Please change.

This is a review for the Dumont burger with garlic-Parmesan fries– I’ll admit the first time I stopped by a few weeks ago, I only had a hankering for fried potatoes. ordered the garlic– Parmesan fries and wasn’t thrilled: they were slightly soggy and did not meet the garlicky goodness quota. however, it was a rainy day, so we’ll chalk that one up to Mother Nature. fast forward to tonight: I stepped it up a notch and ordered a burger with these same garlic-Parmesan Fries on the side, thinking«lawd, help me if they don’t get it right this time». clearly, they sensed my frustration and had an insatiable desire to make it up to me by giving me the most offensive – if you love garlic like I do, you know that the more obnoxious, the better; the more eye flutters, the more heartbeats skipped; and mouth watering heaven – heaps of garlic with fresh shaved Parmesan and parsley that actually didn’t annoy me, but complemented the fries rather well. the burger was medium perfection, tender, juicy and hell yeah, GRASS-FED! some beautifully grilled red onions, sweet pickle chips with chipotle mayo on a buttery brioche roll. oh… Dumont Burger was definitely my friend today. maybe this brownie I ate earlier has me feeling some type of way… nah, they hit the spot tonight.(and made up for last time).

5 stars for the food 3.5 for service and space. This place is a burger lovers heaven! Juicy delicious burgers cooked to perfection. Yummy fries to boot. The melted cheese they use is so tasty as well. For me every time I go here the burger is always served to perfection. I have eaten fewer better burgers than here! I would say this place must be in my all time top 3. Small location and chairs not so comfy. I do wish the other Dumont on Union Ave was still open as the ambience there and comfort factor was superior. Burger-wise though it does not get much better than this!

Rien à voir avec un burger from US!
