Dry Dock Wine & Spirits

Great selection of whiskey and wine. They even have a bargain section in the back (not labeled as such!) where you can pick up some cheaper wines. They also have sampler bottles of whiskey (aka nips), which one could use to throw into their soda and walk around Red Hook drinking in the street. Not saying I did that, but *one* could.
Anyway, their whiskey prices are about $ 5 more expensive than you would be able to get elsewhere in Brooklyn, but I guess it goes with the territory of less foot traffic.

My absolute fave liquor store in brooklyn. Great variety of tastings and amazing recommendations. Wonderful knowledgeable staff and an adorable shop dog to boot !! Definitely worth a visit.

We noticed the shop on the way to the nursery down the street so we dropped in, and omg Mookie the pup stole my heart!!! He’s perfection: territorial and protective of his human but super curious, sweet, and gentle. We played (aka i scratched) for a good 15 mins before I finally tore myself away from him to look around. Not only do they host the cutest pup in Red Hook, they also have a wonderful, varied selection of wine and liquor. AND the customer service is fantastic. We FINALLY located a bottle of Blanton’s (tried 5 different shops this wk; everyone’s out of stock due to Christmas sales). And we got some recommendations for Syrahs, which I’m excited to try, from very knowledgable and friendly staff. It’s a small-​ish shop, but the layout is well-​conceived and maximized so that it never feels cramped.

Great liquor store. The woman working was very friendly and knew a ton about the assorted booze. Very nice selection. The prices are a drop high but not too bad. Worth it to buy from people who know about what they are selling.

They’re back! In their original location. Our last trip ended with my husband asking, «Why would we ever go anyplace else for liquor?» The owners are knowledgeable, hilarious, and genuinely warm. When I said that I like a good hot toddy, it earned me a free taste of toddy-​perfect rye. Love these guys.

Cute wine store in Red Hook, but I noticed that bottles range on the more expensive side. I couldn’t find anything less than $ 14. However, I did find a Malbec from France, scooped it up, and my boyfriend and I were off to eat some wonderful French food. It was a perfect find!

The store feels very cozy, like a living room but nicer and with more pretty liquor bottles.
The counter staff are super sweet and always make great recommendations for every situation. (My friends want margaritas. Under 10 bucks. I’m going to this weird house party that seems kind of classy but not really.?)

I Love Dry Dock! After we lost LeNell’s, Red Hook was in serious need of a good wine/​liquor store. Now we have two specialty wine stores, but I only shop at Dry Dock because they have the best selection of interesting wines, and a decent selection of bourbons, scotch, gin, etc. They host a lot of tastings and the staff is always ready to make a recommendation to you if you want to try something new.
Another bonus: the owners are local residents and I always try to support locally owned businesses.
This place is a WIN.

Even though I live a good 20 minute drive away from Dry Dock Wine, my boyfriend and I never hesitate to make a visit whenever we’re in the area. We’ve found ourselves in this charming establishment a good handful of times this past year. The staff is always incredibly helpful and friendly, and there is usually a spirits or wine tasting that we participate in.

I’ve only been buying wine and booze seriously in New York for 50+ years, going back to when Sherry and M. Lehmann were separate operations and Macy’s 34^th St. had one of the best wine stores in the city. I wandered into Drydock the other day out of curiosity and my heart and gullet were instantly won over. This is an ideal wine and spirits store! Accessible, smart, great selection, good prices, terrific people.

Very nice staff, good selection, reasonable prices. They helped me pick out a couple cheap whites, and I was happy with them. Not much in the neighborhood, so this is a good’n.

Dry Dock is my favorite liquor store in Brooklyn. I started going there when they opened and I lived down the street and still only go there for my liquor and wine needs even though I now live in Kensington.

I have been working with Elana for years, and she is the best. You just tell her want you’re doing, what you want, and she’ll come up with some amazing suggestions for you. Dry Dock has a great selection at various price points, and if you need something specific, they’ll even order it for you. If your order is big enough they’ll deliver. These guys love wine, and it shows.

I cannot buy any wine or spirits without Elana, who works here. She is has great suggestions for any kind of occassion! Go in and ask for her, and you won’t be disappointed!

All things considered, Red Hook is a pretty small neighborhood. If you live here, you get to know all the businesses.
Dry Dock opened around the same time as another wine shop, just a few blocks away. Even though I live the same distance from each, I still haven’t set foot in the other store. Dry Dock is doing too much right.
The selection is great, the staff is as friendly as they are knowledgeable, and they have frequent tastings. Best of all, if you go in as an inexperienced customer, they treat it as an opportunity to share with you something they really love.

A friend of mine told me I had to checkout the massive supermarket Fairway on the dock in Red Hook so I ventured down that way. As I was driving on Van Brunt, I noticed a cute little wine store on the corner that I figured I’d pop in on my way back.
Btw, Fairway was awesome but that’s a whole another story. I pulled up and parked on the quaint looking brick street off Van Brunt and walked up to the corner wine shop.
I was greeted by the owners Ron and Mary who were eating dinner and they offered me as well as the other patrons a taste of a bottle they just opened that they were having with dinner. Talk about smart on their part because that’s all it took for me to purchase a bottle. I was sold. It was a nice 2008 red Chilean wine made from the carmenere grape named Natura. It was only $ 13 too.
The store itself is pretty small, but homey feeling, clean and brand new. They have only been open for 4 months. They have a wide selection of wines $ 12 and under towards the back and the owners were very friendly and informative. They also have a decent selection of liquor as well.
They handed me a listing of their upcoming wine tastings which I definitely want to check out. Next time you’re in Red Hook stop by and say hi to Ron and Mary and bring your friends. It’s a cool little spot if you’re into checking out different wines.
