They were smoking in the back cooking area with the door closed. Wasn’t too thrilled about that to say the least would have come here more often as the place was beautiful but as far as the service and food goes sorry thumbs down.

Been coming here with friends regularly for a couple of years. Good place with laid back atmosphere and a huge beer selection. Food options are pretty good and are a lot more extensive than what you would expect to find in a bar. Service is good and turn around is relatively fast and efficient. Feel free to ask the waiters for beer recommendations. They are very knowledgeable and more than happy to throw out a few recommendations.

They’ve got an insane selection of beer with most of it served in trademark glasses! Service is pretty fast. It’s a Russian establishment, pretending to be a German Biergarten. The prices are way too high for Midwood. Food has a Russian spin, for example instead of authentic sauerkraut, sausages come with Russian store-bought equivalent(the one with carrots mixed in). My biggest problem with this place is that the sausages are way too frequently cold inside when they bring them out. It’s like they are being warmed up on the grill, but not long enough.

I was going to give this awesome, friendly bar 5 stars at the end of my awesome night… until my brother spotted a baby cockroach crawling up the wall right where I was sitting. My brother showed the staff what we saw and the only thing they did was take a few bucks off the bill! Since it was my first night ever stepping foot in this place, it will take a long for me to ever come back.

I give two stars for the beer! They have a great selection of beer. But food is very bad!!! We got shrimps and they were overcooked and tasteless. Overall, their food is disgusting. We could not even eat it and left everything on the table. This place used to be much better, I don’t know what happened to it.

It’s difficult to find such an amazing beer selection in this part of Brooklyn. I remember, back 6 or 7 years ago when we refused to tell anyone else about this place for fear we were giving the secret away. It’s a great spot to chill with your bros, or your hoes. Those beer croutons; those fried, chewy pieces of goodness — combined with a fresh beer from some random Slavic country — make Draft Barn a comforting haven for some lonely wandering brooklynites.

really unusual brewery place/beer garden and its so out of the way i would not even consider it being there. very quite and we were pretty much the only ones there so unique comparing to other beer bars. food was just ok and i recommend not getting the bar foods their wings are definitely from a frozen package and not good but some of the chef specials are pretty good and definitely something new.

Huge beer selection, but unfriendly service. Our server seemed to bark, «what do you want?!» as we were reviewing the beer menu. With hundreds of beers available, we needed more time than a minute or two. Super dark interior, not very welcoming. I felt uncomfortable, and don’t think I will be back.

This is my favorite place in bklyn. True, the service isn’t great but the food is perfect with beer and they have one of the best beer selections in bklyn. Love it.

This place is great to watch the game. The selection of beer in endless and the food is definitely a step up from your traditional bar food. Skip Applebees or Fridays and come here. Try the cheese sausage!

I love this place. The atmosphere is perfect, the servers know their stuff and the selection of beer is endless. Not a big fan of the food there, as most of it is a bit too greasy for me, but the beer croutons are awesome, even though they are greasy. This place is very affordable too. Highly recommend.

I really enjoy their fruity ciders! My favorites are the pear and peche This is like a beer garden in Brooklyn! The outdoor barn seating is as if it’s a little get away from Brooklyn into suburbs The only reason why I wouldn’t give 5 stars is because the food is not too amazing and the service here is not too friendly.

Must try place in brooklyn if you into beers and sausages. The menu has over 100 most exclusives European beers and home style Hungarian sausages. Make sure you call in before when there is a big sport event place gets filled fast and is actually has an awesome atmosphere to watch a soccer game

I can swear the waiter had a bad attitude until we ordered the«right» beer, not another budlight. Hahahaha. Regardless the service was friendly and the food is good. The pig knuckle, beer croutons and sausages was good. The cheese sausage was soooooooooooooo good, it is a must have. Order dark beer! Watch a game! Lol I spent hours in that place. A true beer garden in Brooklyn. Oh, the espresso at the end was in the cutest cups everrrrrrrrrr.

Draft Barn is a regular happy hour spot for my coworkers and myself. We are teachers and, because we get out of work at 3pm, I can’t really comment on this place’s night atmosphere. We usually use it as a starting point; we head over right after the final bell and leave by 7 or 8 at night(either to go home or to go somewhere else). Draft Barn is a great place to catch up with friends because it isn’t super busy or obnoxiously loud. The bartenders remember you and your drink of choice, which I really like. It makes me feel very at home. They are also very attentive without being overbearing; they aren’t completely up your ass and have perfect timing with drink refills. There are two inside seating areas; one directly next to the bar and one right next door. My favorite area is the outside section. It is the perfect place to unwind when the weather is nice. Lots of tables of various sizes and a wooden overhead so you aren’t subject to the blazing sun. Once, I left my keys at Draft Barn. I didn’t realize it until the next morning(I slept at a friend’s house and therefore didn’t need them to get into my apartment) and I looked up their phone number online. Just note that the number that shows up isn’t for this location, but for the one in Bay Ridge. The guy who picked up the phone said they won’t pick up the phone at Ave X(not sure why, exactly), so I went there when they opened. They had my keys! I was so happy, I almost jumped over the bar to hug the bartender(and immediately after, I went to the hardware store to have an extra set made… lesson learned about procrastination… sort of). Finally(I know I’m rambling, but I feel like it’s really important to stress how great the bartenders are), I really like that they let me keep my bike in the back. I have a lock and can easily keep it on the sidewalk, but I still get anxiety if I go too long with my bike out of sight. They even let me keep it there when I left to go eat dinner down the street. They do have food, and I occasionally eat an appetizer(mozzarella sticks, etc.) but the entrees are just a little too ethnic for me.

It’s not every day that you get out to Coney Island and for me it probably happens once a year. Last October I happened to be in the neighborhood visiting a friend of mine, and we stopped into this spot for a brew. It seemed to be full of a lot of russians, and a friendly bunch they were. The beer selection was great, and the snacks were the usual bar fair. I give them four stars for the off-the-beaten-track factor, as this really felt like I was in a foreign land. Also they were quite friendly. The service though was a bit slow and haphazard, but we weren’t in a hurry.
