This is my first review on Unilocal. It certainly is not a good one. In Fact, I went out of my way to download Unilocal just to tell you that this place and their food is horrific. This, so called burek at $ 5 dollars is not worth 5 pennies. I ordered a meat burek along with my friend which he also ordered a cheese. The expression where is the meat certainly applies to this place. There was at best 4 or 5 grams of meat. The cheese burek which is supposed to be made with feta looked like cardboard, my friend confirmed that cardboard actually tasted better. I ordered a diet coke which i found out it most likely expired a decade ago. Upon returning the d-coke server tells me that all of them are just as bad. I would advise owners to learn how to make a proper burek or do the public a favor and close down. I cannot believe that I am forced to give it a star. It is certainly unworthy of anything.

A little shop that serves amazing bureks at reasonable prices. I used to frequent the Djerdan restaurant in Manhattan, which had some awesome dishes. Unfortunately, it shut down, and I wish they’d re-open it. This shop is predominantly for bureks and a few desserts, and the burek is really superbly done. Highly recommended!

I really want to love this place after reading the rave reviews and reading how authentic the bureks were. I will give it another go, and hopefully update with a 5 star salute. Til then, I will say meh. I bought a meat burek with espresso. Espresso was good. The burek had flavor and was big, and for most people, filling. However, it seemed like it was reheated on the heater for a couple minutes before getting to me. I was expecting hot and fresh. And I know this is a takeaway restaurant mostly, but for eat in, it should be hot.

Fun desserts and Burek as a roll and just a delicious place to eat. The baklava is quite good.

Quite good. Tried meat and cheese slices($ 9 total), meat was properly greasy, pastry flaky. Cheese pie was drier, much more suitable for sensitive to grease types, but still flavorful. Great value(2 slices fed 2 people for lunch.)

Djerdan Burek, is recognized as being the first Burek Speciality café, in NYC. The owner, who happens to be from my hometown, in Montenegro, is clearly the leader of Burek specialities in NYC. that grew into a successful franchiser. Burek, pies, be it, spinach, potato, meat, are quite delicious. My favorite Burek slice, is spinach and potato eaten with plain yogurt, quite delicious, just like in Plav, Montenegro. I am very happy to convey as well, that their meat pies are strictly Halal. I would highly recommend Djerdan, service is great, clean and quite affordable, for those who love trying out diverse cuisines, definitely add Djerdan Burek, to your list. Luckily for the customers, there’s a Djerdan, in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan
