History

Established in 1996.

Crystal Manor was opened in 1996 at 1460 Flatbrush Avenue, between Glenwood and Farragut Roads. The concept for Crystal Manor is to provide a homely setting that encompasses the entire family. With a seating capacity of 450, Crystal Manor is the perfect setting for Weddings, Anniversaries, Fundraisers, Communions, Proms, Sweet 16s, and Birthdays. In addition, we are proud to announce our new operational hours to include Breakfasts, Brunches, Lunches, Day Seminars, and Business Meetings. We are proud to be a part of such a wonderful community and look forward to many great years to come serving the Brooklyn area!

Let me start by saying this place «Crystal Manor» is a decent look, if you are Blind! The owner «Marcia» is the worst customer service person I’ve ever Did business with & I would not recommend or refer her or her place of business to my enemy! She is a complete money hungry witch, she is more concerned about her money than the customers satisfaction, which is oddly insane. I should feel like I wanna do business with her, instead I feel as if I was robbed at gun point! My event was marvelous if you discount her & the fake service she displayed, not mention the most sacred place in the building (KITCHEN) was infested with RATS!!! Yes (Ben, Mickey & Jerry) so I recommend that if you are reading this, never do business with her & definitely do not have a catered event at «Crystal Manor»!!!

I went here for a graduation party and to my surprise, it was delightful.
The interior is ok, cute, clean. The best part of my experience was definitely the workers. The servers and even the security guard were amazing. They were mannerly, kept everything flowing, kind. I enjoyed the service! And the food was yummy. (I am not sure if they catered)
The alcohol drinkers were happy too. Drinks were accessible and the bartender kept it flowing.

You know that saying «never judge a book by it’s cover» well let me just say this place is Flatbush best kept secret! Amazing interior my jaw dropped! Something straight out the movies! I went to a wedding here Sept 2012. Even though the décor is nice the service is horrible, I don’t know where I should start. This wedding had about 300 ppl, they ptobably had six servers. It took them about 3 hrs to serve dinner which did not leave a lot of time for dancing. The choice for dinner was fish or chicken and I had chicken which came with a scope of mash potatoes and broccoli. The chicken was very dry, like it was in the oven too long. The drinks were no better, besides the bartenders having atitudes, they ran out of pineapple for mixed drinks. I would not rent this place if this was the last place in Brooklyn. Go take your money somewhere else and you and your guest will be happier.

The services that was supposed to render to me didn’t happen at all. I was told that all I have to do is bring the food, centerpieces, wedding cake & the will take care of everything else I had my reception there on Aug. 25, 2012. Our final guest list was almost half of what we original told them. The initial quote was $ 2900 just for using the hall & their staff for 100 guest. I told them we were expecting 200 guest therefore they added an additional $ 1000. The day before the wedding my husband & I went to the hall finalizing everything. We were short the a couple hundred $. We were talking to the owner wanting to lower the balance she only took off $ 200. Therefore we were short $ 300 of the balance We gave her a check explaining to her the my husband got paid a check & it didn’t clear yet. She agreed for us to have our reception the next day. The owner was calling myself or my husband every 5mins asking for the money. She didn’t have her staff to do anything being disrespectful to my guest. I was so embarrassed. I will never recommend anyone there. If she felt she wasn’t going to get her $ 300 she shouldn’t let us have the reception. Never ever again!!! UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

Doesn’t even deserve that one star. My friend’s 50th Birthday party was held here on Feb 18th 2012. We had 2 rooms booked, the Dinner room and then the Party room. I made the centerpieces for the dinner tables which cost me a total of $ 150.
After Dinner they moved us to the party room, naturally I wanted to have my friend hand out the centerpieces as keepsakes but we did not think we needed to take them as we were leaving the dinner room. After we all convened upstairs and got the party going there I had to leave but reminded my friend to go downstairs and pick up the flowers etc. She informed me the next day that she went to pick up the centerpieces about an hour after I left and the servers told her that they had thrown them out. She had no way of getting them back and they refused to show her where they threw them. In my opinion they stole them or kept them for their establishment. The food was horrible and cold and had they not stole from us I would have let that slide but clearly they are not a good establishment. Take your business elsewhere — it’s not worth the money or the time.

I went here for a 25th wedding anniversary. I enjoyed it. It’s was nice. nothing wowed me. nothing made me feel like it was horrible. Now would I hold an event here… Absolutely. The bathrooms were nice. it’s honestly a nice venue. The food was… ehhhhh… Basically don’t put all eggs in the food basket. go there to enjoy the party, mingle with friends & family. Have a drink or two. at that point what’s food got to do with it?

I’ve been here twice and both times for west Indian weddings that were quite entertaining, being that it is a little different from my culture.

This restaurant/​bar/​dance hall must be one of the best kept secrets in Flatbush. My business Improvement District had a meeting there about a year ago and I must say I was impressed. The cavernous interior is surprisingly upscale. They also have a super secret courtyard in the back that you would expect to find in Soho but not in south brooklyn. The staff was remarkabley well trained, courteous and professional. The food from the kitchen that was catered for us was fresh and meticulously prepared. The best part was the jumbo shrimp cocktail. It was super fresh and succulent. All the little gourmet finger food was also well cooked especially the chicken fingers.
So don’t judge this terrific restaurant/​bar/​dance hall by the cover because there is a world class operation inside.

Really and truly, this place is nice. It’s nice to fine a classy joint like the Manor in this neck of Flatbush. It’s not a place to go out and party hard and get wasted, it’s a place to have a nice sitdown time, maybe have a wedding reception?
I went here on Saturday nite for my friend’s aunt’s birthday party (lucky #60!). It’s a nice spot to rent out, which she most certainly did. Open bar and catered food, complete with servers and people bussing tables. Three courses (salad, entrée, desert) brought out one after the other, and a good DJ spinning all the nice Caribbean hits. There’s some fake plants around that I don’t like, and a really annoying fountain thing RIGHT as you walk in that just doesn’t look good at all, but besides those décor issues the place is really nice, and it’s apparently attached to a regular bar that’s next door, so after your event is over, you can cross over to the other side and mix it up with some regulars! I say check it out…
