Specialties
Crif Dogs traveled over the bridge from the East Village to open our Brooklyn location.
Located in the heart of Williamsburg off the L train, get your hog dog on with Crif Dogs.
We offer a variety of dogs: A Crif Dog, made from beef and pork, is smoked and deep-fried to order. a New Yorker, our all-beef dog, is served grilled. Try the Spicy Redneck: deep-fried, bacon-wrapped hot dog covered in our house chili, jalapeños, and cole slaw.
We also serve grilled veggie dogs and can make veggie corn dogs upon request for those who are conscious of what they put in their mouths.
Treat yourself and put our hot, steamy, and delicious wieners in your mouth!
History
Established in 2001.
In 1999, Brian Shebairo and childhood pal Chris Antista hashed out a plan to serve hotdogs in the alley behind Lansky Lounge, a (now closed) speakeasy that Chris operated in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. They grew up in New Jersey eating at Johnny & Hanges, Callahan’s, Hiram’s, Rutt’s Hut, Nathan’s and Walter’s. On October 6, 2001, after two years of research and development, Brian and Chris opened Crif Dogs, a name they came up with when Brian tried to say his former partner’s name with a hot dog in his mouth.
