Consign Connection Inc

When I moved here, I was surprise to find a designer consignment shop like this. Now, I wish there were more of these in the area. I’ve been downsizing my closet and trying to get rid of stuff that I don’t wear or use anymore so that’s when a consignment shop comes in handy. Although I haven’t consigned anything with them yet, I have been coming here to check out their inventory and see the type of things they get from other consigners. On their window, they display mostly high end designer items like LV, Gucci, Prada, etc. But on the inside, they have mid-​level designers and sometimes really basic stuff like Gap or Banana Republic. So I guess they don’t just only take high –end stuff. They take whatever is in season and what’s on trend. In general, the prices they mark to sell are more reasonable compare to other consignment shops in the city. But from a consigner standpoint, it doesn’t seem like they get much back; especially if the item has been sitting around for a while. The store itself is small but it is very organized and it doesn’t have that thrift store smell.

I love shopping vintage and consignment and thought I would give this neighborhood shop a visit. Upon walking in, I was unpleasantly surprised by the odor that arose from the shop. Not pleasant. Although the cloths had been arranged nicely, very little actual wearable vintage seemed available. I did notice somewhat less expensive clothing labels. I was disappointed. I spoke with the manager and asked if I could bring her in some articles. She agreed and seemed enthusiastic but when I returned a week later, she told me that I needed an appointment and she could not attend to me. She seemed less enthusiastic and not very helpful. Feeling extremely disappointed, I never returned and brought my merchandise to consignment elsewhere. Wish my experience would have been different.

As a Bay Ridge native, I am always happy to shop local. I am friends with many business owners in the neighborhood and fully support all of the boutiques, restaurants, and local businesses. After brunch this past Saturday at Cebu, my mom and I strolled into Consignment Connection to check it out (I’ve always walked past the window display but never shopped in the store). As we were browsing the jewelry collection, my mom said (TO ME, in a low voice) «We should bring some of your grandmother’s beautiful vintage shoes here.» The owner barked at us (interrupting our conversation) «Um NO. I don’t TAKE shoes.» Confused, I turned around and pointed at a WALL of shoes and said, «But you have an entire collection?» and she barked back «Yes, SO??» and glared at us. I have never, ever been spoken to in such a rude, condescending way, especially in my neighborhood. I was so dumbfounded that my mother and I just walked out without saying a word. As a Client Services Director for a Fortune 500 company, I can recommend some fabulous customer-​service and management courses for this shop owner to take, because she needs some serious help. Needless to say, I will never, ever return.

I find all my designer stuff here! The owner is amazing! She is very straight forward and she will express how things look on u after you try it on, you don’t need a girlfriend to shop here! She is your personal stylist with a nice Italian accent! This reminds me, I should go tomorrow and score mire designer pieces! Ciao see u there!

Love this place! Small but very well-​edited selection ranging from $ 1,000 Chanel bags to $ 20 Gap jeans, plus everything in between (Tory Burch, DVF, etc.). Prices are totally reasonable ($ 45 for Joe’s Jeans in perfect condition) and there’s a decent selection of all sizes (not sure about plus sizes but I’m a 10ish and was pretty happy). The store is well-​organized, so you can very quickly find what fits your style and your body, and the owner knows her merchandise and people amazingly well — she quickly sized me up and was a great help in directing me towards pieces that worked. Jeans are always a challenge and I found a few good options there. Keep in mind though, it’s cash only and if she has other shoppers, she’ll limit your time in the dressing room.

My mom and I found Consign Connection a year ago and we love the store and Yolanta, the owner!!! She carries all brands of clothes but many upscale designer brands and all clothing are in perfect condition. There are also lovely accessories; bags, jewelry, shoes. I have never met an owner as caring and honest as Yolanda. I highly recommend this store to anyone who loves to shop and wants to look good. You will find such treasures at this store. You will also find an owner who cares about her customers 120 percent. Happy shopping!

I went in there and it is NOT vintage. All second hand «designer» (apparently) clothing. I went in there when I was seven with my mother and I was a quiet good kid. I am not even joking she told me to wait outside while my mother shopped! Are you kidding? I am a teenager now and love vintage clothes, this is a NO NO. I don’t know why everyone says the owner is lovely, as far as I am concerned the owner I met shooed me out like a dog. Quote «We don’t allow kids to linger in the store». I went in with my dad recently to see if things had changed and even though I am basically a teen she kept saying that wont fit you. Excuse me but it was one of the worst shopping experiences ever

I love this consigment store. Yolanta has a wonderful variety of items for the female dresser. I have purchased jewelry, new day-​to-​day bags/​pocketbooks; evening gowns/​clutch purses; work suits/​dresses, top and pants for weekend fun. She is delightful to interact with and always helpful. She will not let you walk out of the store with an item that does not look fabulous on you. She is an honest salesperson /​store owner. I miss not being able to shop there any longer now that i am in Philadelphia. It you are in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn area or visiting the area, she is a must to visit. Best, Maryellen Van Royen

I do not believe in buying used clothing or bags. When my girl friend and I first walked into the Consign butique I was very suspecious.
My best friend fell in love with Chanel sunglass. An amazing blonde sales person told us the original owner bought them from Switerland and no longer wants to wear them. I was shocked I asked how much! 200 $. Where can you find authentic Sunglasses for $ 200??? Its an investment!!!
After my bestfriend made the perfect investment! A month later I past by butique I noticed a Vangun neckless. I just had to have it!!! Half the original price!!!
After talking to the same sales women she insured me that everything in the store is authentic she even authenticed my Coach bag (was bought in Macys) and my LV belt!!!
From now on I will visit the store weekly!!!

This shop is awesome! I have purchased some really great second hand clothing here. I’ve also cleaned out my closet and made a few extra bucks. The owner is super cool and really helpful. She really knows what is current in fashion and makes sure she only carries quality items.

I love this place! I have been going there with my mom since i was little girl! the women that owns and works there is beyond nice, she makes you feel welcome in your store and gives great advice! Whoever goes to this store will not be disappointed with the selection! just a few days ago i bought a dress there for 10 dollars, how good is that! There’s designer brands there for low prices and in great shape!

I live very close to this shop, and have always walked by and looked in the window, but never stopped. But today my roommate and I went in, and am I ever glad I did! Within moments of walking in, I found an absolutely gorgeous alice+olivia dress. It fit me absolutely perfectly, and the owner, Yolanta, even advised me on how to style my hair and how to accessorize it. I truly believe that she would never make a sale that she didn’t think was absolutely perfect for someone. She was super nice (she even stayed open an extra 20 minutes for us!) and really helpful. She let me put the dress on layaway — unheard of in NY! — and even gave me some great dating tips. I’m so excited; both for my new dress, and that I’ve found such an amazing little store so close to my apartment!

If u are in a bay ridge area and u are looking to find some desighner clothing for cheap this is the place to go this store has it all shoes, bags, jeans, cocktail dresses, etc. and the prices are always reasonable. I have bought many things in this place over the years and they are so many things to chose from and they also do a layoway plan its awsome.

This store, in and out, looks like a boutique, but this great find has no attitude or exaggerated prices.
Jolanta (the owner) is friendly and knows about fashioin. She will not let you buy something if it does not look good on you or fit your style.
Designer fashion (clothes, handbags and jewelry) at reasonable prices.

I live in DC and the few times I’ve treaded out to New York I *ALWAYS* stop by here. I don’t care what a pain in the butt it is — I GET IN HERE.
I’ve only been about 5 times but I always dream of the next time I will return. The owner is lovely and her clothes range from upscale to super duper upscale so indeed there is something for everyone and everyone’s price range. It’s nice to go to a consignment store where the workers are friendly, helpful, kind, nice, and every other adjective for AWESOME!
I’ve purchsed french connection skirts, blouses, gucci bag and a MAG shirt. The women knows her designers.
I really can’t wait to go back. I can’t wait! I want to go now!
I tell people going to NY to take time to head out to Bay Ridge and stop in here (and Century 21 [last to my knowledge]) was still right up the street. BONUS!
