After a very brief stint as Emely’s, a Salvadoran place, and an improvement, it’s now closed for good, gutted by the car wash next door.

This place is called Emelys now, no longer Coney Island Gyro. If I could give this place a zero rating I would. Some girl that works there started to give me an attitude about my order. I asked for my french fries to be well done numerous times over the phone. I get there, not well done, no problem so I ask them if they can cook them some more and she says they were, you could see they were barely cooked and soggy. We got into an argument over asking my french fries to be well done. No wonder they are going down, horrible customer service. Food is decent but they just lost an almost 3 year customer along with a dozen coworkers of mine. I will spread the word to avoid this place like the plague because of this girl. They either need to reevaluate who they hire and focus on customer service and proper management.

Awful food!!! And service. I ordered via Grubhub. n delivery was slow an hour later someone called me to tell me, as I ordered salad they don’t have fresh mozzarella. so I told them in the same price range u guys can give me grilled chicken. The lady on the phone, she didn’t know if it was the same price or not so she handed me to someone else n then she took almost like two and a half minutes then she found out the dish and the price of the chicken and then she told me the chicken is not Fresh!!! its cold chicken!!! it was really weird. when I received the Order, food was cold and looked really awful the Philly cheese steak was very tiny and skinny and funny looking and wrapped in a foil, not in a box or something like that and the salad was soggy and very unpleasant looking. portion of the salad was very small. so I don’t know how they are running their business and you when you google the address from GrubHub you’ll see the restaurants name is Coney Island gyro !!! I don’t know what’s going on but that’s kinda weird so please don’t waste your time and save your money.

Food is better than rhe help. The location is ttough to park at because its on Cropsey & Neptune. So using Grubhub has been my perferred method so my food is waiting. However, lately the staff has been overwhelmed or inattentive to the online orders and the food aint ready. Might have to reconsider it as an option since i only get a half hour to eat

Disgusting, horrible, uncooked food. Lettuce in my gyro brown and sticky. Chicken veiny and of a weird color. Lamb kebab so over cooked and hard, the dog wouldn’t even eat it. French fries felt wet. Zucchini sticks raw. And oh the ever popular shepherd salad, was sour. This was all garbage. A total waste of money. Called the manager he told me they serve great food. If that is great than he shouldn’t be serving people ever. We order out rarely, really wanted a delicious dinner at home. Not today

This used to be my favorite Turkish place, with delicious gyros, good customer service, fresh vegetables and fast delivery. I guess they’re cutting costs, though, because things have changed. A few months ago my boyfriend and I started noticing that our meat was more dry than usual. Sauces, pita bread, and drink orders began routinely being done wrong or forgotten. The delivery driver is a cool guy that I’ve known for a while so I didn’t call back asking them to fix it, but only because I didn’t want him to waste gas because of the phone girl’s mistakes. I also had this fun experience: After a long and busy morning I was starving, and I ordered a lunch special online with a diet Pepsi. I waited for over an hour. When I called and asked what was going on, the phone girl(after hanging up on me by accident because she doesn’t know how to use a phone) told me that they’d run out, and she couldn’t seem to reach me to ask if I wanted a diet Coke instead. She said that’s why she waited over an hour to send it out. When I did get my food 90 minutes after ordering, it was barely warm and there was no drink at all. I don’t know what happened but I’m very disappointed.

Food was ok. I ordered a sub for my husband and myself(philly). Seamless said it came with coleslaw and pickles and I noted that they should remember to include it and they didn’t :(. Don’t think I’ll order here again.

Their customer service is indeed the worst, and the quality of the food is diminishing. Used to be my favorite place to order, but now they are not including everything promised in seamless menu. Ordered cheesesteak from their lunch special which on seamless says comes with pickle and cole slaw, I have also added a note to include it because last time they seemed to forget it. I get a call from them in a little while with a nasty attitude that it’s not included in lunch special. I explained to them that it’s on their seamless menu, and the girl told me «oh, well it’s not included» after some argument she told me they will ask seamless to take it off and I asked for it to be included this time because it was part of my order as shown on seamless, she agreed. Order comes, behold, no pickle, no cole slaw. Another thing I noticed is that they use the cheapest and sometimes even green tomatoes. I ordered shepherd salad from them, which is not, but tasted disgusting because they have put green tasteless tomatoes in there. If you’re into healthy options, don’t bother with the chicken burger, instead of peace of chicken, they give you some patty that barely even tastes like chicken. This place makes a common mistake that failing restaurants do, they keep their prices lower by decreasing quality of the ingredients and changing their menu on the fly. Sooner or later this restaurant will fail if they keep they trend. I personally rather pay a little more for quality food.

Reading The Reviews Had Me Thinking Hey The Food Taste Great ! I Ordered A Salad I Created My Own I Also Ordered A Lamb Platter & Cheese Fries. Everything Looks So Good As I’m Taking It Out Of The Bag. But That’s Just Looks ! The Food As No Taste Like Its Not Seasoned ! I’m Upset That I Even Paid $ 25 For That Shit Plus A Tip ! Never Again. The Only Thing That Was Good Even To Continue Eating We’re The Cheese Fries ! Very Disappointed !

I ordered 2 kebab entrees, a shepherd salad, hummus & onion rings. The order arrived so fast, instead of the hour it would take from another place. The lentil soup which came GRATIS was amazing. I am not a fan of lentil soup but this was pureed with I suspect tomato, oregano and other amazing spices. I have been dreaming of it daily for the past week. The rest of what I ordered might not rival my usual place but it certainly is good. The rapid delivery makes it my new preferred mediterranean favorite, hands down!!!

Did an average sized work order from this place yesterday. Asked for 5 gyro’s and even called back to confirm my order since the girl on the phone was in a very big rush to hang up. Recieved order warm-cold, with 4 gyros, none of them tasting spectacular. When I called back and asked for our 5th gyro, as well as a replacement for one of the ones they messed up and the girls response was, «FORFREEEE!?». I paid for something else and eventually convinced her to that I should not have to pay for their mistake… but in this day and age that should be self-explanatory.

Oh, the gyro. Ubiquitous street food of the fair metropolis that is NYC. Where would we be if street corners in most boroughs didn’t have a halal vendor, sizzling meat bits chopped up with a metal spatula and put onto a pita with some fixings? They gyro is of course, a Turkish food in origin. but I digress. The recently opened Coney Island gyro is for me, a welcome addition to South Brooklyn. Mere blocks from the locale it bears the name of, I remember driving past with curiousity before it opened, wondering what was there. Imagine my surprise-a gyro place! that delivered! All of the usual suspects are there– lamb or chicken gyros, kebabs, and some rather unique items such as liver cubes. Yes. You heard correctly. The pricing’s reasonable and what one would expect from a gyro restaurant. There are even lunch specials, as well as platters including gyro and a salad or french fries(those cost extra) I placed an order last week, which arrived within 20 minutes of my order-a lamb gyro on home bread(this big roll that turns it into a sandwich of meat strips with fixings instead of a Turkish taco.) I opened the bag with reckless abandon, tearing the foil to get to the hot, meaty deliciousness. Oh, the aroma. Perfectly seasoned meat cut into thin strips off of a large log-like hunk of lamb, topped with onions, lettuce and some tomato slices. The white and hot sauce come on the side, presumably so one could add what one wishes and so that the bread doesn’t become soggy. It was mouthwatering, it was savory, it was wonderful. It was big. Too big for me to eat in one sitting so I had leftovers. Who complains about that? I give it a 5. While there are some stands that may rival the flavor, I can’t argue with authenticity, quality, and fast delivery. Coney Island Gyro is my go-to place.
