Ahhh choice. I wanted to like you so badly. I used to go every weekend with my friend for breakfast. I always got a muffin and coffee and she always got an egg and cheese sandwich and coffee. The coffees&baked goods usually come out in a timely fashion, but I would always be done with my breakfast before she even got her hot sandwich from the kitchen. It didn’t bother me much then,(because I got my food first ha ha), but today was sort of my breaking point. I was the only one in there. Ordered an iced coffee and muffin. Received hot coffee. I explained I wanted iced and the man said«well that would be more than what you paid.» and I was like fine whatever and I just left. I would have asked for an iced but I didn’t have any cash left and they have a 10 $ min on credit cards. On my walk back to work, the cup caved in on itself. 3 stars because I do enjoy the coffee and you can put your own cream and sugar in it, which I like, and the pastries and baked goods are always on point. The service is bad. I’ve worked in food service for years, and I know its frustrating when someone sends something back, so I always try to be as pleasant as possible when doing so. He should have admitted his mistake.

Food is good but be prepared for a painfully long wait. I would suggest calling your order in, having them repeat it back to you, and then getting there 10 minutes after their provided time estimate.

Good food but the service is really slow. You have to ask them over and over again to get your order. My suggestion is to order on seamless instead of walking into the store because it could get really packed and your order will likely to be delayed.

Breakfast time: amazing service and polite hardworking employees and even more amazing food. The french toast and pancakes are absolutely mouth watering! I understand that this little shop probably didn’t anticipate lines inside that could go around the block twice, but they work that shop very well for what it is. There is this homey feel to the place that I really like that makes waiting 15min for a breakfast sandwich worth the wait. and that’s just because of volume. If I’m there and there’s no line I’ll have my food in a flash! Dinner time: horrible, rude angry turtle-speed employees and mediocre food. Sometimes I cringe when I watch them prepare my dinner boxes. They just throw the food in any old way. one girl took my fish out the oven and then threw it in the microwave with my other items! I felt uncomfortable complaining and just took it home because the employees just gather and glare from the other side of the glass. Not to mention those girls(and no I’m not being sexist. It’s literally all girls who work there) curse, complain, stare at their phones, argue with each other, and the last straw for me was when I watched this red headed lady grab a piece of fish with her bare hands, eat it, lick her fingers and continue working without even washing her hands. That was the last time I ever walked in there for dinner. Nighttime drinks are disgusting too. I love getting dessert and coffee but last time, after having an attitude for forgetting MY drink, the barista rolled her eyes at me, LITERALLY said ‘i hate this place’ and then made me the dullest most watered down latte I’ve ever consumed… Didn’t even know that was possible. On a positive note the delivery people are always polite and since I’ve been getting my dinner delivered now, I do see the quality in what the chefs prepare. I would order burgers and sandwiches so you don’t have to worry about inexperienced staff throwing meals together with dirty fingers. **By the way the french fries are amazing! Idk what’s so special about them but they are my favorite fries in brooklyn

CM is a beautiful rustic café. They have beautiful desserts, great coffee, and a delicious food. My only concern was that I waited 30 minutes for a breakfast sandwich; when I asked about my sandwich they forgot to make it. This was a Saturday, it was pack, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I returned today, ask for the same thing, they forgot about my sandwich again. Besides that everything is delicious. Just go and try it. Maybe your luck will be better than mine.

I have ordered from here a million times and it is usually fine even though it is incredibly overpriced. Today I ordered online, the food was a half hour late and I ordered a fruit cup with yogurt. Someone tell me how you can call something a fruit cup when t is LITERALLY3 grapes, 4 pieces of honeydew, one piece of cantaloupe, and one piece of pineapple. FORFIVEDOLLARS? I’m just gonna cook at home from now on lol.

4 stars if you don’t mind incompetent, rude staff while waiting 20 – 40 minutes in store for an order that is most likely wrong. Sandwiches are great. Baked goods are amazing. Bread is good. Coffee is good. But come onnnnn… the service is sooo inefficient and not at all charming. Maybe I’m getting old, but I swear this place used to run better a few years ago — there was a girl behind the counter that always ran a tight shift. Now it’s just a bunch of people standing around seemingly doing nothing all the time while you’re waiting 30 minutes for your slice of pie. I frequented this place probably 4 times a week while I was in school around the corner, but learned to call ahead and go to pick up the food about 20 minutes after they said it would be ready. Also, avoid ordering food between waking up and lunch. It’s a nightmare.

The food here tastes GREAT. I mean, literally some of the best quality food in the neighborhood. However, every single time I’ve ordered from here(either in-person or via Seamless) the service has been beyond slow to get anything out of the kitchen. It’s been years and it’s always the same. I don’t know why this hasn’t been figured out yet, but it shouldn’t take 30 minutes to get a vegan sandwich when you’re in the store? Honestly, the only reason I come back is because I forget what a practice in patience this place is, but I’m always fully reminded by the end of it.

This company, Choice Market and Manny’s, both in Bedstuy– cannot get orders right! For about a year I was a Manny’s patron, because there is NOTHINGELSEINTHATNEIGHBORHOOD to eat. I would order an Egg and Cheese sandwich or an omelet with cheese, and 7 times out of 10 they would forget the cheese. And then this morning, I ordered from choice market. They sent egg and cheese. No cheese on stale bread! READYOURORDERSCHEF. I’m done with this company. Hate them.

oh my god, what a throwback landing in here. its been yearrrssss, i was like, not even 21 when i found this place. one of my fave places to grab a coffee in brooklyn. it was so low key back then, there wasnt even a name advertising the spot. like i know it by geographical reference points. i didnt even know it was called choice till today. i just saw those square outdoor wooden seats and i knew this was it. i wish i had an appetite, because i would nom up the food here. just a coffee and vibes. a warm seat in the long communal table, ny times sunday editions strewn all over. folks lining up for coffee and lunch. kiddies playing in their midst. i love places like this. not scenster at all. if anything, it embodies the true character of this fort greene bed stuy part of bk. just a few blocks down, hipsters tourists and manhattanites line up for a taste of the original dough donut, once the hidden treasure in these parts. grab a coffee from choice, hibiscus from dough and you had any given summer morning in the year 2010. mannn iv been hanging out in brooklyn forever. im not even friends with the girl who introduced me to this place anymore. an ex-bf. and yet a sip of this coffee takes me back to a different time and place, probably because choice is out of time, a moment frozen in my past. a young hopeful shibi, looking for a coffee to complement his morning smoke. haha, isnt this the craziest review of a $ 2.50 coffee?

This has been the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. After placing an order, we had to wait for 2 hours, call them 3 times, and when the food finally arrived. Small ice coffee instead of large that was ordered. Omelette was cold. Bread was stale and not toasted. The coffee was half empty for some reason. I’ll never order from there again, doesn’t even deserve one star.

We order breakfast from Seamless. It took 100 minutes to come. Also, food was not good. Salad didn’t have dressing. They left the voice message that they didn’t have one food we ordered. We didn’t notice that message, but they didn’t bring alternative nor paying back.

Chicken panini is awesome! Spinach, avocado, mayo, bacon my faves that i would want crunched in a chicken panini. Yummm! Super small though for the babies and moms in the neighborhood to eat in. I have yet to try the sweets.

Gotta love this little place! Food is always very fresh, service is great and the variety of pastries and deserts is impressing for such a small shop. I wish they had better variety of drinks, and perhaps outdoor sitting, but other than that it’s my favorite place for lunch

The food is delicious so it’s such a shame that the service is disorganized and their process changes every time I go. They need to reorganize the layout so you always order in one place, with clear signage in places that make sense. Also they have this enormous table so the space isn’t used efficiently and you have to climb over people to sit. A few small tables or a banquet with small tables would be a better use of space Also it’s an extremely stressful environment there with the staff constantly yelling and barking orders at customers who don’t know where to order(which isn’t the customers’ fault) Food is great. Improve the staff training and layout and process of your business!

$ 28 for a dry over baked pecan pie that had too many pecans and not enough filling. Two stars are because I still like their breads and chocolate croissants. But that pie was an embarrassment to my Thanksgiving dinner.

I ordered a lamb wrap from them and it took them HALF an hour to get it to me. «It’s because they have a lot of orders to do”– the cashier lied to me. I know she forgot about it because their wraps are pre-made and come cold – why couldn’t she be honest to me? The lamb wrap came with cabbage salad– who in the world had this terrible idea. Lamb and raw cabbage don’t go well together(at least in my lamb-heavy culture), but also the cabbage was extremely bitter cuz it had been sitting for a while and that’s what happens to cabbage when you leave it sitting for a while – duh. Like so many other places, total rip-off for mediocre food, barely ok. It’s astonishing what these Brooklyn gentro places can get away with, and what the people are willing to put up with.

I haven’t had a bad experience here yet, so far so good, the owner(or I think she is) is very attentive to the customers waiting for orders. I live a block down so this review might be a bit bias because it’s so remote, I advise that if you’re ordering out, to call ahead.

I just placed a big lunch order for my office. The chicken Panini sandwich that I ordered arrived as a veggie sandwich with small shreds of chicken mixed in with mayo. There was so little chicken that I called and explained that they sent a veggie panini. The phone rep said the chef said«chicken is in there it’s just not a lot». After looking I notice the little shreds of chicken… seriously??? Other orders arrived incorrect also. All of the hungry tummies were expecting good food but it didn’t turn out that way

First time ordering from here! Got it delivered because we were too lazy to go out. Oops. Two burgers — one with fries, one with roasted potatoes and a «cheesecake brownie» to finish us off. 1. We both ordered the burgers medium — mine was more medium rare, but I like it that way too so it wasn’t a big deal. Someone with less of a care-free personality might be a little peeved at this… Take note. 2. I requested the brie cheese on my burger for a .75 cent upgrade. It wasn’t on my burger. Bummer, am I right? I was really excited for that brie. 3. The brioche bun was amazing, the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, crisp, and juicy, and the burger was THICK — basically everything you could ask for. 4. Potatoes were delish(both in wedge and fry form). The wedge come cooked in peppers and onions which wasn’t mentioned, but this wasn’t an issue for us. 5. Cheesecake brownie, which was almost $ 5, was kinda disappointing. Very small for what we paid and tossed in a paper bag so a lot of it stuck to the bottom. Tip: maybe stick to hot food for delivery and go in to actual restaurant to enjoy pastries and desserts? The food was good enough that I will definitely be going into the place to see how the atmosphere is and such. Maybe there will be fewer errors when eating in person and not getting delivery? We shall see. Management should really work on making sure these errors don’t happen because they have so much potential as an establishment!(The food really was good).

We went here early in the morning to get sandwiches before our flight out of New York. This local sandwich shop was recommended by our hosts who live just a few blocks away. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They even gave us a madeline baked good to snack on while waiting for our food. My soy latte was delicious and they made a beautiful leaf-like pattern on the top. Our grilled salmon sandwich was delicious on multigrain bread, however, it got a bit soggy from the dressing. I’m sure it would’ve been perfect if we ate it fresh. Their chocolate croissants were delicious even when eaten cold on the plane. Chocolate seems to be high quality & I was impressed with the flakiness. We also also bought two empanadas. The crusts for flaky and expertly made. The vegetarian empanada had a curry flavor and mostly potatoes for the filling. The salmon empanada was also fresh and tasty. The wait for our food was longer than fast food, but they did make everything fresh. Definitely drop by this neighborhood spot to try some of their baked goods and coffee.
