Checklist responded within a good time. Akimi was very pleasant even though the company does not service the Bronx area of the Big Apple.
Such courtesy and quick response time, if I lived in Brooklyn, would have me consider them!

I am completely happy with Checklist’s services. They communicated regularly and clearly, the work was completed as requested, on time and for the quoted price. Checklist was very accommodating about meeting our schedule for work completion — I would definitely use them again.

As a fairly handy and self-​sufficient business owner, hiring anyone to take care of the several not-​so-​minor things left on my check list was a slightly frightening concept because I also happen to be somewhat of a control freak. But my list of things left to do has only grown over the last couple of years, while my available time has not.
After doing some research. It was important to me to have a local business with a stake in doing a good job. Sure, I could have hired a day laborer through Craigslist, but I’d have to watch them like a hawk, thereby nullifying any potential time or work savings. No, I needed someone local, reliable, trustworthy, and with a record.
Checklist met all these criteria easily. Their website made it super easy to request a bid based on the specific projects I had. Project #1 was to install a backsplash, Project #2 was to re-​grout the shower walls and Project #3 was to remove an exhaust fan that was no longer necessary.
All three were done inside the timeframe described, and the workers were not only efficient and pleasant, they even cleaned up after themselves, which was a pleasant touch I truly wasn’t expecting. As far as cost is concerned, they are admittedly more to hire than the day laborer off Craigslist, but you have to know what you are getting, and in this case it’s a fully-​licensed business that has a great team of people who won’t take all your money and then leave the job half-​finished.
Read around, there are plenty of nightmare scenarios, and as someone who is frugal enough to do most of my work myself, when I am going to hire someone else to take care of stuff for me, they must not become a whole new project; I need my checklist taken care of! All three jobs were completed inside the time window proposed and professionally handled all the way.
It’s a rarity to get what you pay for, and with Checklist Handyman Services I can say wholeheartedly that this is the case. Highly recommended!

Checklist can do anything. They tiled our kitchen floor beautifully (ask for Ken). They also scraped, spackled, caulked and repainted both of our bathrooms, including old, flaking radiator poles. And they’ve painted more generally, fixed a broken doorbell, and so much more, all at extremely reasonable prices. I wish I’d called sooner instead of putting all these projects, major and minor, off for so long.

Guillermo from Checklist is like the home project fairy. He was here this morning and magically the hole in my bathroom ceiling is patched, the new light (light!) is hung in the bedroom, and the outside lights which haven’t worked in seven years are working. I gave them five stars before and am doing it again. Two thumbs up.

We had been trying to hang up a large glass whiteboard in our office in Manhattan for months but kept hitting bumps in the road with unlicensed contractors and overly expensive licensed contractors recommended by our building’s mgmt. We finally found Checklist and emailed them. They responded within the hour and gave us a very reasonable quote. Their customer service people are very knowledgeable and respond very quickly. The guys came in to hang up the board and were in and out super quickly. They did a great job and now our office looks awesome!

I love Checklist! Will definitely be using them again.

I’ve worked with Checklist for both my home and my office. In both cases, we hired their team to install huge, heavy AC units in street-​facing windows. (Not for a novice!) They did a great job and made the process quick and easy. Beyond the installation itself, I loved that we had an actual human point-​of-​contact by email and phone … vs. having messages go to some generic email address or company phone dump. I would definitely use Checklist again.

Guillermo and the rest of the handymen address the problem and get it done when they say they will. They did a wide variety of small jobs for me this spring efficiently. The office can be difficult to contact.

I contacted these people thinking they were different from other non-​responsive handyman. It took them 3 days to respond to my online request. Their only response was to ask for my phone number and address which I had already provided. After that they waited 1 day to call and schedule a handyman to come and look at my list of things (which was pretty basic) and give me a quote. Finally 5 days after submitting a request I got a quote that was 3 times the amount of another handyman.
In short — they provide no better service from other handyman who can at least come on shorter notice.

Hard to know where to rate this. On the one hand, the work the handymen actually did was great. Very satisfied with that.
On the other hand, my experience with the company wasn’t so hot. The workers were almost 50 minutes late to our appointment — apparently they’d been given a different time than I had. I tried calling and emailing the company, and even five days later, not a single person has responded to me. This is typical — they take at least two days to respond to anything (yet interestingly, when I once took too long to write back, I got a lecturing email back about needing to be fair with promptness of reply).
Additionally, when I sent them my initial request, I felt they indicated to me that «the handyman» said the ceiling fan installation would take two hours. Based on that info, I decided to take the ceiling fan installation off the list so that we could get the rest done in four hours. As it turns out, two guys showed up, and they were done with the rest of the list in 2.5 hours. I had nothing else for them to do based on my emails, and so I essentially paid $ 544 for 2.5 hours of work.
All in all, maybe it’s just a lesson learned, but I can’t help but feel negatively.

I highly recommend these guys! They are reliable, efficient, courteous, problem solving, tidy, cheerful, and just really nice and easy to work with. We have used them several times for projects ranging from hanging a huge and heavy mirror to building a utility shelf in our utility closet. We also had some art to hang and in addition to having all the right hardware necessary to hang on walls of various types, they made very good placement suggestions. The last time we used them the handyman noticed that a doorknob was falling off and asked if we wanted it fixed, so they are proactive as well!

Pricey and disorganized. In between the slow response to my email, them losing the pics I sent them & then having to wait 2 weeks for the next appointment for an estimate, it took damn near a month for someone to come to my house. All that and then I got an exorbitant quote. I will say that Luis, the contractor, was very nice but there’s no way I would use their service or recommend them to anyone.

Thank you Checklist home services for sending us Luis Miguel! He arrived right on time and got right to work after speaking with us to ensure he knew exactly what we needed done.
We had two caulking/​grouting projects to work on in addition to light fixture/​cabinet installation which were time intensive projects. Luis Miguel managed his time very well and was able to get all those things done in addition to installing guitar hooks and checking on a faucet problem.
His work was excellent and he was a pleasure to work with. We are recommending Checklist Home services and Luis Miguel to everyone who needs work done!

I needed interior french doors installed and Guillermo and Luis did a wonderful job. They were both friendly and professional. I only rated 4 stars because I do think the install was a little pricey compared to other prices I was quoted, but this company was the most reliable and responsive, so I chose them in the end. Definitely not disappointed and will keep them in mind for future jobs.

I found communication with Arlean and Guillermo to be wonderful, but I couldn’t afford their quoted price ($ 500 for 2 craftsmen for 4 hours). I ended up hiring a local guy, and he did a great job in 2 ½ hours and charged me $ 80

We decided to take advantage of Checklist’s December special rate to knock out a few jobs around the apartment that had been bugging us. We scheduled 8 hours of handyman time, and Brian arrived promptly at 9 am. In the 8+ hours he was there, he:
–Fixed some ceiling damage behind a new light fixture
–Scraped and recaulked around the bathtub, floor, and behind the vanity
–Fixed two broken door handles
–Fixed hinges on two sets of closet doors so they’d close properly
–Painted a plastered spot on a wood door so it blended in with the grain
–Caulked around windows and doors in drafty living room to improve insulation– it made a huge difference
–Primed and painted some marks on the ceiling
He did a great job on all of these, and he was personable, diligent, and focused. I will definitely be using this service again!

Lucky for me, I found Checklist Home Services on Unilocal.I used their services to re-​grout my bathroom shower as well as sand /​varnish the wood saddles. The work performed was neat, clean, detailed, and perfect. They also provided an estimate before services were performed onsite.
I also wanted to re-​glaze my tub but Checklist Home Services did not perform that service. They made a referral for Atlas Bathroom Reglazing. Also another 5 stars. I’ll be writing a separate review.
