In comparison to the other two of these markets along this area of bay parkway this one is the oldest and they still can’t speak English nor want to learn. However the place is better kept then the other.

This is my favorite Store. the people are very friendly they have a wide variety of Asian food and Asian supplies that I use because I am a chef with chinese and thai food. I can get all my supplies here. They have also fresh fish .the staff is very friendly. I come here every week and I have am lucky to live close to this store. I would give them 5 starts if they had some detergents and cleaning supplies so I don’t have to go anywhere else.

I shopped there was because it was about a city block away… I’ve never had any trouble with their service(I once accidentally bought some expired soy milk though) and they occasionally have some really nice deals… Particularly around summer they have a big sales on fruits and Asian munchies… the fruits are always nice there about as big and sweet… I still shop at that store even though I moved, cause while it’s not the closest place around anymore… it’s still pretty close and I like their selection and prices…

Been coming to this supermarket ever since it opened. This chinese supermarket has almost everything you can think of. I think this is one the first chinese supermarket in bayparkway area if i am not mistaken. this was the market to buy all your things before other chinese markets opened and offering lower price on meat and vegetables. They alot of seafood which is good and all chinese supermarkets are different from each other. One thing bad about this market is that the people preparing the seafood only speak limited amount of English. overall this place is fine i mean i like it.

My new go to place for gummies. I don’t know the name of the package because it’s in Japanese. But I called them Japanese gummies and most people know what I am talking about. But anyways, anywhere else the price is $ 2.79+…but this place has it for $ 2.39, the cheapest I’ve seen in a while. I don’t really live by here… but I will just come here for gummies… that it all…

Chang Wang is great if you speak chinese. Its good if you have patience. It’s almost impossible to deal with if you don’t. No one is courteous, everyone skips you on line, the workers either truly don’t speak english, or they pass it off like they don’t so as to not help you in your quest for something remotely half-american. The good: Meat and seafood is fresh as hell and always well priced. The workers are quick and efficient. They have really cool items you can’t get in a regular supermarket. The milk and OJ is reasonably priced. The bad: The lines are terrible. They aren’t very helpful if you don’t speak Chinese. They leave their eggs out longer than they should. I go here because it’s close, but I do miss the old Cedar Bay Grocery Store lol

A pretty standard Chinese supermarket, but they have an excellent beer selection. A lot better than Early Bird(which is more crowded and has long lines). But the produce at Chang Wang isn’t as good/cheap.

I’ve been grocery shopping here for as long as I can remember(since it’s at most a five minute walk away) and even now that there are two other Chinese supermarkets ONTHESAMEBLOCK(the heck? why???), Chang Wang is still doing really well. They’ve expanded since I first knew it and they now have a separate section for veggies and some other stuff. I like it because I’m really familiar with it and the way that it’s organized, but it might be overwhelming for a newcomer. It’s not too big though(definitely smaller than say, Hong Kong Supermarket on 8th ave), but it has a good selection of all the things that I ever want for Chinese food cooking.

ASIANGROCERYSTOREEEE! they have 2 sections, the main big section is for stuff like fish and packaged goods and then you walk in to the left and here you have all your veggies. The front of the store is where they sell all their fruits. I like coming here to get my packaged Asian goodies like Pocky and Asian candy. They have a good variety of things here for a decent price. I recommend you coming here if you’re by the area, but if you have another Asain grocery mart close to you, save the trip and go to the one that’s by you.

Not all Chinese stores are the same, and they don’t always have fully stocked the main ingredients you need to make a true authentic Chinese dinner. My Chinese co-worker lead the way here for a team building event on making dinner together. She walked steadfast and true straight to this market and didn’t look back to see if we were keeping up with her! Fish, frogs, eels, and turtles?! OHMY! My friend showed us these which I’ve never seen in a Chinese market before(even in Chinatown!) and educated us along the way from different tofus to the variety of noddles and how to cook with them properly. Easy to get lots in the aisles and just let your mind wander on what you could cook tonight! Highly recommended to bring out the Chinese foodie in you!

Really cheap beverages like Aloe and Iced Tea. Vitasoy are just $ 2.79. In other supermarkets around 86th st Bay Pkwy they’d sell it for $ 3. First time coming here. one of the workers were extremely active in asking you to move like«mmm goi geh meh» I will come back again just bcuz it’s cheaper than other supermarkets ~_~

The larger and oldest of three Chinese supermarkets on this stretch of Bay Parkway. Even after their first direct competitor, Early Bird supermarket, opened a block away, you can hardly see a dent in business, what with the massive crowds. Currently, prices between the two markets for similar items are about the same, sometimes varying slightly but neither being consistently higher or lower. They have some American products but very limited. Prices are usually excellent compared to American markets. Fairly good selection of vegetables/fruits, meats, fish and seafood, Chinese dried and canned goods; their overall variety, especially vegetables, is better than Early Bird. Because Chang Wang re-organized and expanded into the next door space over their history, the layout isn’t great. I also wish they improved their chaotic checkout lines; seldom goes a day when I shop there where someone isn’t yelling at someone else about cutting in line(because that is a regular occurrence); and the lines block a few food aisles.

This is one of my two local grocery stores. It gets really busy. Prices are great, selection is pretty limited for my taste since it caters to Chinese. But you can always find the basics and save a lot. Meat and fish are good, fresh and cheap, they have live seafood, frogs, eels, fish. There is a selection of chinese herbs, sauces, snacks and desserts and a wide assortment of beers including Asian and Russian Beer. There are two competing markets nearby on Bay Parkway. Of the three, this is the only one where the cashiers say«Hello» and«Thank you,» so I rate them better than the competition.
