Allow us to officially introduce ourselves. Chalk is a gym re-imagined. Unlike the traditional model, we aim to be a school of fitness and health. One where we are all student and teacher – where ideas are shared, communities are built and individual goals are achieved. This is the gym Williamsburg has been waiting for – with its amazing location and unparalleled attention to customer service, this is a space for you and about you, designed explicitly with your needs in mind. So toss out your old ideas about fitness gyms… Chalk is the whole package, the healthy lifestyle you want to live today.
History
Established in 2012.
The concept behind Chalk Gyms has been thought about by its’ founding members for several years. 193 North 9th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is our original location.
Meet the Business Owner
Michael L.
Business Owner
It was while training in the gym that once occupied Chalk Gyms’ Williamsburg home that Michael Losardo first thought of switching gears – of giving up his successful career as a recruiter to pursue his lifelong passion for health and fitness. He made the move and never looked back, going on to receive a certificate of Advanced Personal Training from The Swedish Institute and become a Certified Personal Trainer through NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) and ACE (American Council on Exercise). Since then, he has worked as both Personal Trainer and General Manager at a range of Manhattan and Brooklyn gyms, experiences that have led him to fulfill his dream of owning a gym based on teaching, learning and sharing – a true fitness community. Chalk Gyms was born from Michael’s deeply held belief that belonging to a gym is not a luxury, but an absolute necessity for a life in balance.
