Description

Specialties

Cassette is a neighborhood restaurant in the heart of Greenpoint. Our menu is inspired by the rustic cuisine of southern France, especially French Catalonia. It is vegetable-focused, seasonal, and local as often as possible. Our goal is to serve healthy, approachable, affordable food that our guests want to eat several times a week.

We’ve chosen a wine list built around the unique wines of Southwest France, Languedoc Roussillon, and Northeastern Spain. Most of these wines are not well known, but represent some of the best wine making in world. Best of all, most are more affordable and as a result, even more exciting to introduce to our neighbors.

History

Established in 2015.

Cassette is lead by owners of Rucola (Boerum Hill), Fitzcarraldo (Bushwick), and June Wine Bar (Cobble Hill). Henry Rich is the Managing Partner and designed the restaurant space, concept, and chose our wine list.

Chef Joe Pasqualetto, who has been the chef at Rucola since it opened, was inspired by his travels to present a menu with this regional focus. He brings many years of experience to the table having cooked with some of the most acclaimed chefs in the industry including Daniel Boulud and Paul Liebrandt.

The space is designed to feel cozy, but reflect the larger format warehouse quality of Greenpoint itself as well as our proximity to the water. The tabletops are zinc, much of the wood is reclaimed, and most fixtures are painstakingly reworked antiques.
