Specialties

Brooklyn’s Finest Pole Dancing Studio specializes in pole dancing classes where students learn a diverse movement vocabulary of spins, climbs, descends, stationary poses, floor work and smooth dance transitions. Each class offers a great warm up followed by a fun routine. Class sizes are small so that students may receive personalized attention.

We also offer chair classes called «Hot Seats». These classes are great for learning the art of flirtatious lap dancing. Our fitness classes are a nice compliment to the dance classes as they help prepare students to work on strength, stamina, flexibility, and agility.

Looking for a place to have an insanely fun pole party? BFPD is your place. We offer pole or chair dancing instruction, freebies, our signature «Pole Potion» and a reception area connected to the pole studio where you and your guests may enjoy refreshments and mingle during your party.

History

Established in 2011.

Brooklyn desperately needed a centrally located quality pole dance studio. Conveniently located in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, BFPD now offers just that.

We opened our doors in November 2011 and have been having a great time teaching students from all over the NYC area how to pole dance. Join us and see what all the buzz is about.

Business Owner

Vel, the proud Owner of Brooklyn’s Finest Pole Dancing Studio has been a dancer her entire life and has traveled extensively doing what she loves. Vel found a passion for pole dancing several years ago after just 1 class. She became hooked on pole, literally.

Vel is a Certified Climb & Spin Pole Dance Instructor and takes great pride in teaching her students the art and sport of pole dancing. She enjoys helping her students become skillful and strong while watching them find their own voice in the movement.

Vel loves to perform. Her style can be described as strong and showy. She looks forward to sharing her voice as an artist with the world.

Yes I did say «long overdue»…and Regardless of your justification, my view of your establishment remains the same. Regardless of i signed up for the class or not, the treatment I received was the staff was deplorable, unprofessional and inexcusable. Thank you but I have no reason to return. I have found a very professional establishment elsewhere where the staff has a sense of business etiquette.

My co-​worker and I were interested in attending a class at Brooklyn’s Finest Pole Dancing Studio, but we had a few questions and concerns, so we decided to call first. We called the 855 number listed on the website several times and were met with an automated system. We selected to speak to a representative and were transferred to a non working number and the call disconnected. This happened every time we called. Not sure why…
Needless to say, we are a little bummed that we aren’t able to have this experience. Guess we will explore other options.

What an incredibly sweet, welcoming space with high quality classes and instruction! I had fun, learned some new things, got a killer workout and felt right at home the whole time. They offer a nice diversity of classes (I took dance conditioning, pole and chair dance) that keep your pole game fresh and interesting. Great experience! I recommend for newbies and more seasoned polers alike.

I loved this place. When the cab pulled up to the house in which it is held, I was like, hang on. not sure… but there it is, a little studio in a mostly residential neighborhood. I went in and watched another class end. I was impressed. The teacher who taught my class, newbie pole basics, seemed to be a pro. All of us newbies were a liiitle bit shy when the teacher said, while waiting for the music to get to the part where we would start, ‘just freestyle a little bit here,” and began shaking her legs in a way we had all seen on music videos. The class wasn’t really feelin that as far as trying out here right away. No biggie, just funny. It’s actually really nice and rare to have an open atmosphere where you can walk around in bootie shorts with other women and shake your assets. The teacher taught us a step by step little routine and we had fun learning it. I was proud of what I could do and I think most people were surprised to learn both how much better you are than you would think and how winded you will get, quickly. Pole dancing is a real workout but one of the only ones where I’m actually excited to go to: it’s fun. When I left I couldn’t wait to get back.

I love this academy! Initially I got a 3 classes groupon. Their classes are categorized according to the experience level. It is an advantage since the class is synchronized and there is not shame if you have less/​more skills (or nothing at all!). Ambience is fun and teacher provides lots of motivation an personalized instruction. They are trained, skillful, patient and awesome. Tanya rocks! Lots of positive energy! Classes are small. I have never shared a pole so far. Each session is different and you will learn an small routine… It is an enriching exercise for your body while being fun. I bought my set of classes once the groupon was over. Prices are affordable. I highly recommend this academy and definitely the pole experience!

Absolutely wonderful place to learn the art of pole dancing. In an effort to gain upper body strength and learn pole dancing, I found this establishment through Unilocal.They offer a great package for beginners and have very convenient times for all. The location is small but there is more than enough space to practice your moves. I signed up for a three intro classes with Kheri and have had a great time; Kheri is a wonderful teacher who not only remains patient and helpful throughout the class but she creates amazing routines that are sexy yet graceful. Val along with the other staff and students also provide an encouraging, fun atmosphere as well. The lessons consists of a warm-​up period, pole moves and a simple dance routine that summarizes what we just learned. I plan to continue my lessons here and would definitely recommend anyone to learn with them as well.

I attended an event here recently and I loved it! The instructors were fun, professional and knowledgeable. I will happily be coming back. They even give you a sweet departing gift. I recommend this place for bday parties, bachelorette parties and similar events. FUN!

My friend and I brought groupons and started attending the pole classes. I must say from the very first class it was a great experience and had so much fun. So much so that we have since continued our lessons here past the groupons. Even at full price the classes are priced very reasonably in comparison to other studios and they also have seasonal specials. The space is clean and the instructors are fun. I would highly recommend for any lady who has ever been interested or curious about pole dancing to give this studio a try.

I bought a groupon for 10 classes, I’m about halfway through my classes (sad it’s almost over). Vel is a really good & patient teacher. I learned pretty quickly and am moving up to the beginner level.
I’ve taken a pole dancing class before & all we did was spin on the pole for an hour. Vel actually teaches us routines with floor work, the classes have 10 people max so you get a personal touch. Overall it’s been a really good experience. I highly recommend it & definitely arrive on time.

I enjoyed my first lesson here. I learned more quickly than I thought, and Vel is very patient and excellent at explaining. The small class sizes mean more one-​on-​one attention, which I really respond to. Most fitness class I’ve taken have had an upwards of thirty students, which means I was mostly on my own and had to watch the instructor and mimic, but at BF we all received coaching and tips for improving our technique. I’m really looking forward to my next lesson.
Unlike the first reviewer, I had nothing but a positive customer service experience. Everyone is very friendly, and I felt comfortable in the first few minutes.

On 7÷14÷12, I had a bachelorette party for my cousin at BFDS and being the skeptic I am, I «dropped by» to checked out the place a week before the event. The owner, Vel, was very welcoming when I called to say «hey I’m in the neighborhood can I stop by in 15 minutes». I was pleasantly surprised by the neat and clean studio space and Vel’s professionalism. We were a mixed group (30 – 50’s year old) which I thought would be a challenge but Vel & Ashanti (her assistant) were amazing! The routines were challenging but simple enough to follow and more importantly it was VERY tasteful, sensual and classy. Vel seem to tailor the evening to our group. Almost everyone signed up for additional classes and everyone said it was the BEST bachelorette party they’ve attended. I knew the party was a success because I had people calling me on Sunday morning saying «girl, I heard the party was the boom, why wasn’t I invited?». I want to thank Vel & Ashanti for preparing the Bride for her honeymoon and making the evening so memorable. Much Thanks!

I had the pleasure of being invited to a private party at the studio. I was always interested in trying pole dancing out, but thought that it would be way too difficult.
OMG! Vel was amazing! She is soooooo patient and really works with everyone. Our group had such an awesome time! Everyone made it on the pole!
