History

Established in 2012.

My name is Liz. From Brooklyn originally, I spent much of my childhood upstate with dogs, cats and rabbits.

At the age of 7 I joined the «junior humane» program at my local humane society and began volunteering there every Saturday morning. Since then I’ve been hooked on hanging out with animals. These days I spend a lot of time with other people’s pets– as well as my own cats Jack and Rocco, and the occasional ASPCA foster.

In 2004 I completed training to become a volunteer with an organization that rescues animals in disasters. I traveled to Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina, and after Sandy helped out here in Brooklyn in a shelter caring for the pets of displaced New Yorkers.

I understand how difficult it can be to leave your pets in the care of someone else. I’m happy to work with you to make you as comfortable as possible while your pets are with me, communicating regularly with you about how they are doing in your absence. Liz is the best. She started walking my crazy pup last summer when he was only about 5 months old, and has since become a huge part of his training, socialization and growing up. It’s always reassuring, in the midst of a crazy midtown workday, to get a text from her about how my dog’s walk went (plus she sends fantastic photos of him). She has always been incredibly accommodating around my wacky schedule. Highly recommended, I’d give her 10 stars if I could.

Liz is the best! Our recently rescued pit is having a bit of a hard time adjusting, and Liz is totally understanding with all of her unique stressed-​dog needs. I feel totally comfortable leaving her during the day knowing that Liz will be there in the afternoon for a walk and a potty break. We’re so lucky to have found someone that has such great animal intuition and patience. BAF is great :)

I met Liz after being disappointed multiple times with my previous cat sitters, including using one service who just never showed up. Above all else Liz is reliable, trustworthy, and genuinely loves animals. I know that when I’m away my cats (Rosie and Willie) are in terrific hands. She always sends texts and photos of how they are doing, and is extremely available and personable. She’s bought my cats wet food when we ran out and I was away. I feel 100% comfortable leaving my babies with her, and I can’t think of a higher compliment to pay any animal sitter. Animal Farm really is the cat’s meow!!!

Liz has been my cat sitter for almost three years! I initially found her through a professional pet sitting service, but happily continued to have her cat sit when she started her own venture. I travel often for work and I hate leaving my little guy alone. He’s a very social cat. Liz is great with him! She used to sit for him and his brother, but his brother died suddenly. This was a huge adjustment for my cat and for me, as I adopted them together as kittens. Liz was great, and gave me a book to help me process the loss of one of my cats. This story just proves that she is very compassionate. She is reliable and great with my cat. She plays with him if he wants, gives him rubs, and gives him space if that seems to be what he wants. She also takes pictures of him, and emails me during or after each visit. I also feel very comfortable having Liz in our home. She is trustworthy and is reasonable and flexible with payment. I have nothing but good things to say about Liz. I don’t like having to travel so frequently, but I do know that my special guy is in great hands while I’m away.

Liz is just the best. I recently moved to Clinton Hill and Brooklyn Animal Farm is one of the best things about the neighborhood! Liz is reliable, flexible, and communicative. When I went to Europe for two weeks she emailed me every day with photos of our pup. I’m very picky when it comes to walkers, and Liz puts me completely at ease. She’s great with my large pit bull, and I have no worries when I leave for work that my pup will get a nice long walk. I’ve used a lot of walkers over the years, and Liz is definitely one of the best.

Brooklyn Animal Farm is AMAZING!!! Liz is reliable, flexible, and lovable… everything you would want in a dog-​walker. As a former professional dog-​walker myself, she comes highly recommended. Her prices are more than reasonable, especially for the hard work she puts into making your animals comfortable and happy. She is very thorough in her first meeting, making sure to learn about your animal and his/​her needs. She goes above and beyond, always. She even bought my cat food one time when she noticed he was running low… she’s my dog-​walker, not cat-​sitter! How sweet!!! My pup and I have run into her a few times in the neighborhood, and my Gracie is always ecstatic to see her. She always sends the best pictures, too! She is always available via text or email for any schedule changes, questions, or concerns. I cannot say enough good things about Liz! We have had Liz over to stay with our Doggy Miles on two long out of town vacations in the Windsor Terrace area. Even among our friends who watch over him from time to time, I will say I am hands down the most comfortable leaving Miles the Dog with Liz. Her prices are extremely reasonable (60/​night) which includes walks, feedings, and having a reliable presence as she will stay over if you prefer– (which we do). If you’re as attached to your pooch as we are while away on trips, BAF will set your heart at ease. She is consistent, professional, totally flexible and will send you multiple photo’s a day along with texts and updates. Beware: Your dog may not miss you as much as you think. It will be evident in the photo’s. Oh, and she has a natural talent for the lens as well. More than anything, you always know how it went when you come home from a vacation (sometimes they’re mildly sick bc they were fed things they shouldn’t have been, or just anxious/​depressed) but after Liz takes care of Miles, we come home to a totally happy, healthy dog who acts like we weren’t even gone.

Liz has been walking my dog Lucky since I first adopted him. She is the best!!! She is so reliable and flexible. She will love your dog almost as much as you do. I swear she misses Lucky when I don’t need a walk for a couple weeks. And I’m pretty sure it’s mutual. If I run into her on the street with Lucky, I have to practically drag him away when we part! Brooklyn Animal Farm is awesome!
