BQE Wine & Liquors

A big selection and such a nice staff. Highly recommend. Not a big deal to park underneath the BQE if street parking not available.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this spot. My folks are ex military and i get bottles cheaper HERE than I can on base in VA. I discovered HIllrock here, if you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor. Everyone that works there is super nice and knowledgable. Get on it!

Conveniently located right beneath the Brooklyn Queens Expressway overpass, is one of Brooklyn’s best liquor stores, affectionately named BQE. In the interest of not going overboard with my appreciation for this place, let me breakdown what makes this place a cut above the rest:
* Inventory: They’ve got it all and in stellar fashion: name brand and independent. The selection is as good as one will find in a store this size. They have everything I’ve asked for and if they don’t, they’ll be the first to recommend a place to me that carries it. Way to be secure in your competitor-​hood. Get with it and search their catalog online:
* Prices: No quality liquor is ever going to be cheap, but this place is pretty darn close to offering very reasonable prices not found in most stores. It’s not uncommon to find various bottles for $ 6 – 8 cheaper than the average retail cost. They’ll even knock off another 10% if you buy in bulk and with cash. Score.
* Service: Tis true, service is everything. They are awesome with phone orders and are willing to go all out in helping one locate the bottle of: insert spirit or wine: and will immediately hold it at the counter for pick up.
If there is any knock, it might be the parking. There are some spaces out front are usually available, and thankfully this place is never mobbed with people scouring for booze at a deal. There is also parking under the overpass and around the neighborhood.

3÷7÷15 update: I returned a couple days ago, and it seems they’ve changed their payment policy. If you use credit for purchases over a certain threshold ($ 300 or so?), they’ll only photocopy your ID. Also, the women who rang up my purchase this time around was very polite and helpful.

I am French, bought a couple of bottles of Champagne (so cliché). Nice selection (around ⁷⁄₈ different bottles, which is decent here).
Bottom line: same price than in Paris.
No need to say more.

Great selection and reasonably priced.

First off this is right off the service road of the BQE. Don’t drive to fast as you can pull over right in front and usually find a spot. Just be careful traffic moves fast in the street.
This is not the biggest liquor store around but, the selection is on point for the location. and size. One thing I have to say is that their prices are pretty good. They are on par with those warehouse liquor super stores.
For instance I have seen a bottle of Davinci Chianti wine 2011 go for 12.99 Even 14.00 here it was for under $ 10. So you basically get the warehouse prices for the single bottle rather than having to buy 2 bottles to get the discount.
With that savings alone this makes BQE liquors a definite stop if I am near bye.
They also carry all the major liquor’s that you expect to find in a Liquor store.
Try the Tito’s Vodka its the new thang!!!

Great place for discount wines! You’ll save at least $ 2-​$ 3 here compared to other places. I’m a cheap white wine kind of person though so I can’t speak for the high ends or reds :)

I went to BQE Liqours in December to buy a scotch that has become hard to find for my husband.
Not only did I find the one I was looking for, but 2 others I forgot I even wanted!
The prices beat any other place I’ve ever purchased at before, by at least $ 5 — 10 a bottle.
The staff was friendly and helpful as well.
I also appreciated all of the parking available under the expressway.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Their prices are insanely low compared to the other stores in the neighborhood. The staff are incredibly sweet, friendly, and helpful. They’ve got a great selection and the best prices around. Once I found this place I never set foot in any other liquor stores in the neighborhood again.

Another 5-​star review, but they deserve it! Simply the best prices I could find. Nice selection of red wine in all major categories (I usually go for the Cabernet, and discovered some good stuff here)
In the wine section, they display rating cards from 3^rd party sites such as wine enthusiast, etc, which helps me decide when trying something new. Depending on who’s working at the time, the staff may or may not be super-​knowledgeable about wines, but do your own research & you’ll be fine.
The staff is really friendly, more so than most liquor stores.
The location is convenient, especially when driving.
If you’re lucky, there will be a wine tasting going on when you arrive.

Thank god I found this oasis of booze. It’s hard to find a good deal on booze in this city, this is the place to not only get a good deal, but have a nice experience because of their A+ selection. Impressive Bourbon selection and the wine is well stocked and has all my favorite good cheap California and Argentinian reds. The wine is cheaper than about anywhere I can think of in the city. Grateful to have found this store.

Great prices on some good stuff. Check their site, they have it all catalogued out. Middle of nowhere under the BQE, but definitely worth the trip. Also One Stop Beer Shop is nearby, so you can hit that up afterwards!

Cheapest liquor store around! And they actually really know their wine and give great recommendations. Discounts if you buy 3 or more bottles. Cheapest price I’ve found for Veuve Clicquot. Be warned none of their wine/​champagne is cold, but totally worth it. Also found good price for Johnny Walker Blue.

This is as cheap as wine /​liquor is going to get in this city. They have a gigantic selection of both wine and liquor, along with impressive bulk discounts and low-​floor pricing in general.
I have also always been happy with the customer service here in the past, the only problem is they close relatively early most days…

Since my review, I’ve learned that due to NYS law, wine&spirits sales have to be separate from beer. Sadface.
Ergo, I now have no reason to deduct a start. BQE Wine & Liquors, you are officially a 5 star in my booze lovin’ book!

I remember when I first moved to the hood about a decade ago, I wondered what this place under the BQE was about — BQE Discount Wine and Liquors? Sounds like a place I would really like…
And indeed – this place is awesome! They have a wonderful selection of booze, a good selection of wine, and their staff are very cordial and friendly.
They have a huge basement and their owner buys large quantities of booze (I believe by the pallet) so that they can sell their booze at a far cheaper cost than any of their competitors. I discovered this when I inquired how they could sell their Lagavulin 16 yr for only $ 50 (usually sells for anywhere between $ 60 – 75 elsewhere).
Their selection of scotch and bourbon is superior! Their selection of other booze ranges from good to great! The only thing I would say isn’t quite as sexy is maybe their selection of wine (it’s still good).
I remember one time, I saw this Devil’s Spring 160 proof vodka and wanted to get it. The ladies behind the counter started telling me stories of how the old men in their family would drink it straight to help wash down all the meat at the end of dinner. But they also gave me a stern warning that it must be mixed and not to even consider drinking it straight as it could kill me! They actually said it could kill me if I drank it straight! Well, it is 160 proof. I bought it for a party a long, long time ago, and it is still sitting on my liquor shelf unopened…
Oh, if you like to stock up and buy a bunch of booze at once, they have 10% discounts on bulk purchases too.

Top notch. I won’t buy liquor anywhere else now. I’ll plan ahead and have a fully stocked bar. Other people can buy from corner stores that charge double.
The discount policy, which is something like 10% off if you buy 3 bottles, 15% if you buy 6, and 20% if you buy 12, really makes buying champagne in bulk seem like a reasonable way to spend your afternoon.

Excellent service, prices, sales, and inventory. The best part about coming here are their discounts and of course their friendliness. Whenever I’m in Williamsburg, this is my go-​to liquor/​wine store. Their Whiskey and vodka section never disappoints. The staff here is by far the friendliest from all the other liquor stores I’ve been to.
The only small issue I have with this store, the lighting in here is kind of dim. I wish it was a little brighter. The store would look more appealing inside and out in my opinion.
