Food is pretty amazing!!!
I recommend the rock shrimp is really really good.
We would def come back here again.

My family and I have been coming to Born for years. I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to write a review.
The ambiance is perfect. It’s trendy without seeming snobbish. They have a full service bar and the best staff ever. Their lunch menu is top notch and the prices are amazing considering the quality and quantity of food you will receive.
Now to the food:
Delicious. Perfectly seasoned. You get authentic Thai spices, which some can be adjusted if your pallet is sensitive to heat. Each meal is made to order. Your food will never come out of a big pot.
My daughter has severe food allergies, and she loves Born. She can enjoy the majority of their menu and loves the quality and taste. My top picks are:

You can’t go wrong with any of your choices. Everything is amazing.

These 2 stars are for today’s service. I walked in and was greeted with a smile. Excited for my experience I ask if I could sit by the window. She told me yes and so I got comfortable. Needless to say I was forgotten in the corner. When they remembered me it was a good 15 – 20 minutes after I had been seated. I had to stop the young woman and asked if I could put in my order.
My appetizer came out and I enjoyed the very crispy well seasoned calamari. My water was done my palate cleansed and I was ready for my Thai Fried Rice. But as with the beginning of this story I had to wait.
A woman who had walked in after I had finished my appetizer was seated at the bar. She received her meal before I did. When eye contact was made with one of the hostesses and she noticed my displeasure she said the other one would check to see what was was going on. She disappeared to the back for a little and then a man came out with my plate. No form of presentation but as if the rice had been scooped on the plate in a hurry. I noticed their was no tomato and asked for a menu to make sure that my meal was to include it. When I asked the young lady she told me Tomatoes were no longer included although the menu said they were. She filled my water and ate. My experience started at 8:00 It is now 9:34, my glass is low, my plate is empty, the table isn’t cleared, the woman who got here after me has paid and left and again… I wait. How can I then give a tip if there was no service?
I should have went to my usual spot Lantern on Montague Street… Check them out.

One of the best Thai dishes I’ve ever tasted, Great vibe about the place, service was amazing, The food is exceptionally good as always. best restaurant I’ve been to in a while.

This place feels like home, and it should, I go there at least twice a month. It is always a solid dinner choice for my husband and I, and the happy hour special works every time.
The star deduction is because they don’t allow any substitutions with their dishes. However, I’d give them 5 stars for ambiance — they’ve managed to create the perfect cozy mood in there. It isn’t the BEST Thai I’ve had, but it’s certainly a consistently positive experience. Perfect for a date night and worth checking out!

We ordered spicy models who usually come with flat rice noodles. It came with udon noodles and the the manager didn’t agree to exchange it. I left the Resturant paying for a meal that I didn’t touch. Shame on them

Yes, yes, yes! I came here with a group of friends as we we’re looking for the latest happy hour and we were not disappointed. The lychee martinis were amazing, better than Verlaine’s and Verlaine’s lychee martinis are amaze-​balls. And their drunken noodles were just the right amount of spice and not over-​powering. The noodles were so good I was inspired to make my own drunken noodles the next day. Kudos!

I can’t really say much about Born. The only thing I had here was the calamari. Came here after bar hopping. After the 2^nd place, everything is a blur.
The calamari was good, though. And the location is convenient. I’ll have to check it out when I’m sober. :)

It was my first time here and I must say that the food is delicious and the environment is spot on. It’s quirky and perfect for some Thai food.

I came here for lunch with my coworker and I love this place! She told me about it and I wanted to come. The food is amazing! I would recommend this place again and they have a little backyard I saw in the back I guess for their late night stuff. I definitely will be back, especially for their Thai Iced Tea lol

Cute spot, simple but cool décor and reasonably priced. Food wise everything was fresh and pretty good. Not the best Thai food I ve had but definitely up there. The chicken in peanut sauce was delicious and the pineapple fried rice with chicken was pretty good too. I also observed that they have a pretty nice backyard for warmer weather. Definitely a good spot for an after work dinner.

Who doesn’t love Thai food… group of 5 ladies all had a nice afternoon lunch. We were there at 6 pm and that’s when they start happy hour! $ 6– happy hour drinks on a Saturday… that alone gets them a star (lol). The drinks are strong too! The portions are sizable, however there could be more flavor to the food as you normally expect from Thai food. (I’ve had better in Hell’s Kitchen —Yum Yum or Room Service)
The service as others have noted is great. The waiter was attentive and friendly.
I’d return for appetizers and cocktails.

I went to Born Thai last night with two friends. It seemed to be popular and we were looking to discover a new place along Flatbush. Special kudos to the bar tender, Somboon, who was personable and made excellent drinks. The lychee martini (which all of us ordered as our first round) was one of the best I’ve ever had. My friends and I shared the rock shrimp appetizer, which came with three huge shrimp in an interesting tamarind sauce and sweet glaze. For my main, I ordered the grilled shrimp salad which was also very good. Only thing, though, is that it had a lot of toppings — cilantro, shrimp, scallions, pineapples and apples — and not enough lettuce. Ultimately there was a lot of dressing on the plate and no lettuce to sop it up.
My friends both ordered the drunken noodles which they said was very tasty. They both had enough leftover to take some to go.
I would go back to Born Thai if I was in the area. The drinks were well priced and delish, the service was great, my water was always refilled and the ambiance was inviting. Could be a cute first date spot, too.

Meh. They seem to be cheap and cut corners. Having spent time traveling all over Thailand I’m a tough critic.
However I’d like to say that the gentlemen working the day shift on wed ²⁄₂₅ was very sweet and accommodating. 5+ stars for him!

Pros: Curries were good (panang and peanut), servings were a good size, takeout was relatively quick.
Cons: Chicken was often dry and rubbery, tom yum soup was underwhelming (two shrimp, one and half mushrooms, and nothing else in the whole soup!) and pretty expensive for thai in Brooklyn,

This place is wonderful. It’s clean, the staff are friendly, the food is delicious! And the drinks are just perfect! I had a wonderful time here.
I came with my son and friend. Between the three of us we had the salad (spinach and shredded carrots with a carrot, ginger and soy sauce dressing) an order of calamari, an order of thai dumplings and vegetable dumplings to start.
For entrees we had the beef and pineapple fried rice. Chicken and pineapple fried rice, and the se-​ew noodles with shrimp. Delicious! The meal was a success and the portions were great, not too small and not too much. And the staff were very friendly and made sure we were satisfied the whole meal. I plan on going back again soon to try other meal and different drink options.

Food is amazing definitely try the lychee martini and the calamari. The staff is friendly and personable. Came here on a night out with the girls and staff did not rush us as we were overly full and took a minute to get up lol
The shrimp roll is also good. Parking in the area is hit or miss I got a parking spot around the corner. If you take the train you can always get off at Bergen (on the ²⁄₃ line) or 7^th avenue (on the B/​Q line) also walking distance to the Barclay Center and Atlantic Terminal. If you are craving Thai food or never had Thai food before check them out. They will change your life. Also this would be a great spot for a date night.

I came here for lunch during my lunch break. Born Thai is a neat and lovely little spot to grab some lunch or dinner. Lovely interior and cozy. The staff is friendly, quick with service.
I ordered off their lunch menu. $ 10 for 1 soup or appetizer and 1 entrée. Certainly a great deal.
For my appetizer, I ordered the Steamed Thai Dumpling– grounded chicken & shrimp with sweet soy sauce. They were okay. The sweet soy sauce didn’t really add any element to the dish. It wasn’t really sweet.
For my entrée, I ordered the Drunken Noodles– U-​don noodle, egg, onion, bell pepper, chili paste, basil, string beans, chicken. Certainly made up for the dumplings. Good amount of chicken. Good spice to it. Noodles were cooked perfectly. Great flavor. Perfect portion size. Delicious noodles.
Maybe I should have ordered the soup appetizer instead, but I enjoyed my drunken noodles. Not many customers during lunch hours though.

What happened? I recently came in and tried the red curry with mock duck. When my dish came it was as if the dumped the entire can of gluten on my dish and placed some red curry sauce and bamboo shoots on it. Needless to say I was disappointed. I asked for more veggies and was told I would be charged more money. I ended up returning the dish. Honestly veggie friends-​do you want to eat an entire can of fake meat in one sitting?
Some of their dishes are quite good. I heard the Thai government was sponsoring a machine that would test the quality of Thai food-​I would recommend they bring the machine to brooklyn.
