This used to be my go-​to car service, they have gone way way down. I have to find a much better car service. In the past year they have disappointed me again and again. I have a particular run I do and it has been $ 19 to take something for me to the same location. The last guy tried to charge $ 24 and showed up at the destination reeking of marijuana. Won’t be using them any more.
I had loved Black Pearl and used them for almost 10 years.

I was at the corner of Albany & Fulton. Not particularly familiar with the area, I told the operator the address and the intersection. She said she needed the cross-​streets, not the intersection and proceeded to hang up on me. After looking at my google map to determine the cross-​streets, I called back and told her the address and that I was between Albany Ave and Lewis Ave. She told me that those were impossible cross-​streets and hung up on me. Granted, Lewis Ave becomes Troy Ave or vice versa at Fulton Street, but she was clearly being contrary for the sake of it and I was very disappointed in how rudely I was treated.

Used Black Pearl today and the experience was very good. The dispatcher was friendly and polite. They said 3 minutes and it was more like 6 but given that it was raining no big deal. The driver was courteous and helpful. I would use them again.

The Cab Drivers are rude! Anger Management NEEDED!

Called this cab company a few times, the drivers, unlike the dispatcher, we’re rather courteous. Like other companies they say the car will be there in five minutes and it’s not always true but they come in a reasonable amount of time.

After our stay at Akwaaba, the innkeepers strongly suggested Black Pearl as a car company. It came almost instantly.
It cost $ 15 to get from Bed-​Stuy to Atlantic-​Pacific.

My experience with Black Pearl was also a rude and ignorant one. The dispatchers/​staff are truly lacking in customer (and general) service knowledge. I am done. May I suggest Flamingo… or ANYONE else!
