Sports bar in park slope south, they usually have soccer and basketball games so it’s good to watch games. Food is ok, selection of beer is good, prices are pretty good.

Great place to watch sport, especially real football(soccer). Food is pretty bad though. Ordered fish & chips with homemade tartar sauce, the batter was soggy and the tartar was practically coleslaw without the carrots etc — no kick to it whatsoever. If you’re going to be an English bar, get the basics right please! Also consider serving chips the English way instead of fries since they’re apparently home made too, and allow us to put the salt on ourselves. Also game was on so no servers to send it back too.

The chicken nachos are out of this world. Great beer selection and good prices too.

Nothing memorable except for all the tvs. food was bland. I would rather have smaller portions and really enjoy what I was eating. no drinks that I couldn’t get somewhere else. the servers did their job, but weren’t friendly, not unfriendly either.

The food is awesome, service never fails and the beer is always cold. Lorenzo, the waiter, is friendly and attentive. We come here and always sit in his section. He always makes us feel welcome and always helps us find a place to sit. Great guy. The only thing that is a little strange is the owners wife prancing around in Louboutins touching the regular customers. Can’t make it up, lol.

I used to live around here, and I think we have been here at least 10 times since I moved last year. It says something about how much we love this place. The order is never late, always fresh and tasty, big dishes, decent price, great service. They literally put everything together for you to have a great chill evening with your friends/girlfriend.

popped in for an early lunch. literally the first people in, I’m not even 100% they were fully open yet. regardless, the server/bartender seated us and took our order. the fish tacos were more of a spring roll than taco, decent flavor, but their spicy aioli was delicious. made the meal worth it. if you don’t like heat, I’d steer clear. nothing special about this place though, run of the mill ordinary food. though I wasn’t drinking at the time [noon on a tuesday], their beer prices looked to be in my wheelhouse. cheap. I’d go here for a night of cheap drinking [$ 6 beer and a shot].

This sports bar is growing on me more and more. It’s just a really solid sports bar, probably the most popular in the South Slope area. Great service, great bar food and drinks, and just an overall positive vibe. My friends and I are already considering it as a Super Bowl option this year.

Setup for watching soccer is great 4 stars for that, 2 stars for the food which isn’t very good. Been here twice to watch soccer and eat brunch. The huevos rancheros is nachos with scrambled eggs and no cheese. No rice or beans, and eggs are scrambled with veggies. Bf got the scrambler which is eggs and toast, and they gave him the toast end piece which isn’t egregious but it didn’t taste very good.

Have been here a few times. Where do I start… ok, first of all, don’t bring your kids here! My husband was bringing my son to the toilet and well… there was a couple people doing lines in the restroom and then a woman giving a bloke a blowjob! Not really their fault. Other than that, it’s not a bad place to watch football and eat some wings(if the blow job sight didn’t put you off food. lol) Very nice staff actually, and well, they work hard on showing most games, that’s why they get all the stars. They just need a good bouncer to get rid of some dumbasses…

I’ve only been here for the drinks. It’s a pretty cool spot, It’s a nice spot to have a few drinks, especially with a bigger group because it’s not as tiny as other places in Park Slope. The bartenders make pretty good drinks. We ended up here due to my cousin forgetting her ID lol. No one carded us here. The music needed to be louder and the DJ(a white girl lol) managed to play a few Soca songs which caught us by surprise. The night we visited, it was packed with a few members of a Rugby team who were super aggressive and played this dumb game that consisted of throwing yourself on the floor. They completely killed the vibe of the place but nonetheless it’s a decent bar.

Black Horse Pub is a great place for people watching on 5th Ave especially during the summer but that’s about it. There is nice sidewalk seating out front. One thing I’ve noticed about this place is that they seem to decide day to day when they want to accept credit/debit cards. On my most recent visit which was a football Sunday they were Cash Only. I believe they are Cash Only every Sunday during football season. This place generally has quite a few patrons around dinner time. On this particular Sunday Funday it was pretty crowded. Since it’s nearing fall I’ve been waiting for places to start slinging pumpkin beers. Our server stated that they didn’t have any pumpkin beer yet so I inquired about Oktoberfest. He said that they did have it. Unfortunately, what I was served tasted more like a Summer Shandy. I was on the brink of a cold but I don’t think my taste buds were that off to mix up the two. My friend ordered veggie tacos. She said they weren’t that great and were super spicy. On previous visits here I actually thought the food was decent; however, her tacos did look sloppily thrown together. Overall, I’d have to say I think the service and food is inconsistent. My experiences here have just been overly underwhelming. I won’t go out of my way to return unless it’s for a simple night cap. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to others. I think there are definitely better options in the neighborhood.

I have never been to a better«football» pub. They open at 7:30 even for an arsenal game even though the owner is a spuds fan. Great food, so many good fans. Be here if you are a soccer fan. I drive 1.5 hours just for black horse

My bf and I came here for Friday night dinner and drinks. I was surprised when a waiter came to take our order since I’ve gotten use to the ‘order at the food counter’ service at almost every park slope bar. We started with the half order of chicken nachos which were good and I would definitely recommend. The half order was more than enough for the both of us, I can’t imagine the size of the full order and for $ 7 it was a great choice. I had the steak tacos and they were also pretty good while my bf decided to try the shepherd’s pie. It was an odd version of the dish, taste more like Italian meat sauce(that would go on spaghetti) under a lump of mashed potatoes. Therefore, would not recommend the shepherds pie. Stick to the Mexican options for sure. The beer and service was also pretty great. The waiter was readily available and we didn’t have to wait for beer or food and to top it off the waiter brought us a free shot of jack Daniels with the bill. Stop by and check the place out if you haven’t yet. And try the nachos and blood orange beer, best pair I’ve had in park slope yet.

Generous portions for the price. We ordered a half order of monster nachos with pork as the appetizer and they did not disappoint. There was so much meat. I can’t imagine how big the regular order must be! I ordered the carb cake salad and again, huge portion. I was expecting 1 cake and got 2. Had I known that, I probably wouldn’t have had so many of the nachos. My fiancé got the spicy black horse burger. He thought it was a little over done, but he didn’t specify how he’d like it cooked. He also said it was a little over spiced. Over spiced, not to be confused with too spicy. Heat wise is was fine. The fries were great though. I love the outdoor seating, but the table was pretty wobbly, so if you’re going to be drinking be careful!

Passed by here on a weekend with the family and thought to try it out. Was a Saturday brunch time and found that it is family, we thought give it a try. At first, it had a strong smell of bleach as we figured that they just opened so they mopped the facility. The smell was pretty strong for my wife, we though of leaving. But at the end, we figured it will go away as we sat near the door and air circulation started to get better. I ordered the burger which was decent and fulfilling. The waitress was very nice and entertaining as we exchanged jokes. Wifey had the nachos which was humongous! Kid’s liked the chicken fingers and fries which they enjoyed. Good beer selection and many TV’S to keep up with sports. Will love to try with friends when I dont have to drive and enjoy more of the draft beers they had.

I LOVE this place!!! Your able to get great food for a cheap price. The staff are nice and they make their drinks good. I have yet to get a watered down mixed drink. I come here a lot to enjoy the food, drinks and sport games with my boyfriend. The crowed ranges from late 20s and up. I would recommend this place during the week day and for a relaxed Sunday.

Fast, attentive bar tenders. Good atmosphere, flat screens throughout the venue. You can also eat here, sadly I seldom eat at bars. Wish the bar tender knew how to make classic cocktails. One of the bartenders(female), had no clue to what an «Old Fashioned» was! She panicked, and asked her co worker. Her co worker tried but also failed, she made a whiskey sour, and not an old fashioned. But overall I had a good time here. Will probably stop by in the near future.

This was fantastic for the World Cup. I came here three or four times and the service here is phenomenal. The only reason for one less star is that they were cash only during the Cup games(probably to minimize hassle). Solid beers, plenty of TV’s and excellent, excellent service.
