Always consistent with their bread. What more can you ask for? This is my go to place to buy fresh bread.

This review is on the croissants only. We have tried at least 5 different types. One thing they all had in common is they are all over baked. Too well done. when they are so dried out they lose flavor. Bien Cuit gets very good croissants reviews. I find some times when food is pricy some people that just don’t know better believe it’s good. I don’t mind the price if it tasted delish. Could it be I just had bad luck and bought bad batches. I’ve given them 5 try’s 2014-mid 2015. Screw me 6 times shame on me. Bien Cuit I have no use for you.

My friend and I shared the regular croissants and pain au chocolat – both of which were incredibly buttery, flakey and tasty. I felt like I was eating straight up butter though which is how you should feel while eating a proper croissant I’ve heard. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to come here again but the croissant soothed my morning hunger pangs and it was a good place to chill with a friend.

I love this place, it’s always nice to have a french bakery at your neighborhood. Their coffee is very good BTW.

One of my go to places in the neighborhood to kill time over a coffee. They serve joe coffee and the shortbread and almond cookies are amazing. They also have sandwiches which I haven’t tried but look great

Best croissant ever. After a bite, tears will drip down your cheeks and make your espresso americano.

The bread is amazing — the only issue — the loaves are too damn big! :) So many of us live alone or in couples and since the bread should be eaten soon after purchase and I, for one, would love to see some non-Coscto sized loaves. Maybe this is how it was done 100 years ago? Maybe it’s needed for the right crust to bread ratio? I’m not sure. I froze 2⁄3 of the half loaf I bought, and it worked but would love to see some smaller loaves. Service was ok — not overly friendly like at Breads Bakery Union Square. It felt a little, «our bread is holier than thou and we will deign to let you buy it.» So — up your game and smile and greet people with sincere welcomes and bake us single folks a loaf with lots of seeds, nuts, grains and a crunchy crust with soft inside and… 5STARS baby. :) In the meantime, thanks for the best«country artisinal style» bread I’ve found in NYC.

$ 4.90 for a latte is a lil pricey, but the atmosphere is legit and I thought the staff was quite nice.

Bien Cuit, is a French owned bakery specializing in French pastries. It is strongly advised to go there in the early morning when their baked goods are warm and tasty, and when their coffee is fresh. It is best to go there on a weekday as opposed the weekend due to the throng of opinionated hipsters who seem to crowd the place on weekends. The quality of the ham in their gruyère and ham croissant is fabulous. It is soft, chunky and smokey. The croissant shell is too flaky and dry; it is not the fluffy golden colored croissant, but rather a brown over cooked shell. It is a pity because the fillings are definitely super. The coffee is okay. I wouldn’t recommend their iced coffee and it seems to be watered down and bitter. Do try their almond cookies: they are friable and«adult» sweet. Their almond cookies and a class of hot coffee, for instance make for a golden«break-after-studying».

SOGOOD. We got a few goat cheese tarts and croissants to eat there and they were so good that we got a few things to go include pain de chocolate and croissants. I heated them up for breakfast the rest of the week… did not regret that decision. :-)

Came here for a meeting yesterday. It was about 10 and the place was pretty full, that is to say there was only one table left. There is an average amount of seating so if you are going during a high traffic time you might want to plan to take things to go. The regular coffee is fantastic and also fantastically cheap. Very few times do I go to places like this and the coffee is less than 3 dollars. The chocolate croissant(brioche au chocolat) was 3:50, which is a pretty typical price. But it was absolutely delicious, perfectly flaky and crisp on the outside and soft and buttery on the inside. While the two things I got were enjoyable, the ambiance is pretty mediocre and the service was a little lack luster. I wanted a chai latte, and as I can’t have dairy I asked for almond milk. They apparently had none, no soy milk either, which seemed like a huge lack of foresight on their behalf – No one noticed at closing the night before or at open that there wasn’t enough almond and/or soy milk? It was 10 when I got there, some one could have fixed that pretty quickly since they’d already been open for a couple hours. Also, I had never been there before and it was raining outside and I had no umbrella so I was a little frazzled when I arrived and I didn’t realize that you order at the front of the counter and then get your coffee order at the very narrow end of the counter. Instead of saying this to me when they saw me sitting at my table waiting for my coffee to appear where I ordered as my coffee got cold at the end of the counter, they just looked at me and whispered to each other which made me feel really uncomfortable. So even though the coffee was great and the croissant was delicious I would likely never come back because the service was poor and the atmosphere was just kind of stale, generic, and pretentious.

What could be more rejuvenating in a cool autumn evening than a latte made with actual pumpkin?! Pumpkin-spice fanatics, this place is a must try. The latte is made with a purée of pumpkin, molasses, honey, and pumpkin pie seasonings. It adds a surprisingly delicate pumpkin spice flavor and gives the latte a smooth, creamy texture. The slightly nutty flavor of the almond milk makes this a delicious treat. You definitely pay for what you get($ 4.50 for 12oz). I had a French almond cookie along with the latte– thin, crispy, buttery, and nutty. Just teetering on the edge of crispy and overdone. The space itself is very large, with an industrial yet natural feel. The wifi is good, and the staff don’t seem to mind the company. There are plenty of other goodies on the menu, but they seem to specialize in breads. I noticed wine on the menu as well.

Poor service. Bread is often too hard, almost burnt. Bread is way overpriced. But the worst is the pretentious manager who lacks manners and has an attitude. If the owners were smart, they would fire the manager today!

This bakery offers a variety of French inspired treats. There are breakfast pastries like croissants that are crispy, buttery, and flakey. There are savory pastries like ham and cheese croissants. There are fantastic breads. There is EXCELLENT coffee. All of the baked goods are rich with flavor and baked perfectly in the French style. The coffee is tasty and well made. Good coffee beans are used. I love coming here!

Ambiance/décor-4 Service-5 Food-3 Strikeouts-1/3 Came in expecting an assortment of pastries and wasn’t disappointed. They are known for their bread, but I was in the mood for their pastries which is supposedly baked daily. They have two flavours in the fall category and I chose the fig Danish. For a Danish, it did not taste fresh, sweet or soft. It was actually pretty tough and rather bland taste. This is my first and only strike. I really wanted to give this place another chance so I went to buy their tart. This was a bit more expensive($ 8) than I would have liked spending on a tart, but it was really well done. It wasn’t too dry and it kept it’s form when I was eating it. Overall, based on two desserts, an average place. Can’t say it’s worth coming Across down to come, but if you’re in the neighbourhood, definite drop by.

You can’t go wrong with an exceptional croissant and a Café Au Lait, now if you do this every morning, dig deep into your pockets. It will add up pretty quickly. For those of us, where money is no object, I say let it rip. However, Brooklyn is known for some exceptional bakeries. Caputos comes to mind at a third the cost. Their croissants aren’t as pricey or as good, but their bread is outstanding. So, if your Porsche can handle a quarter mile drive or so, go to Court and Sacket St., you won’t be disappointed. Cross my heart. XoXo

Their almond chocolate croissant… best croissant I’ve ever had? Not too buttery, with the perfect balance of crunchy and flakey shell with the tender inside. Every other croissant will disappoint me from now on. Luckily I live 15 steps from here(only thing keeping me away would be the calories & the $ 5 price tag). I’ll be back with reviews of their other menu items!

I’ve been missing Paris lately, and no joke, the croissants and coffee at Bien Cuit give Paris a real run for its money! I ordered the almond croissant and mocha latte. The croissant was super fresh and flaky and the almond filling wasn’t overbearingly sweet. You can see all the baked goods cooling straight out of the oven. What more could you want? I’m not a big coffee person(the taste is a bit too bitter for me. Sorry, everyone,) but I downed this latte. It was lightly sweet and frothy. Assuming I wake up in time for weekend breakfast again, I shall be back!

Been here a few times. Even though the pastries are baked fresh daily, they don’t actually taste that fresh. Not sure why, maybe it’s the humidity control, but the croissants are the slightest bit stale. Also, the chocolate one has very unevenly distributed chocolate. Runner & Stone’s pastries are far better. Also, they have rotating coffee beans. However, the last time I went, I asked for a coffee, and they said they don’t do brewed coffee anymore despite it being on their chalkboard menu(not sure if they meant they were out for that day? that week? forever? It was only 2pm so who knows…). Ended up getting an Americano(which is also unhelpfully not listed on the menu as an option, even though the barista said it’s a common alternative to the brewed coffee). Just confusing overall. The space itself is cute though.

Bien Cuit NY: Brooklyn: Cobble Hill 1pm Monday 11th May 2015 Four Stars I had an excellent«Well Done» Ice Coffee. They proudly serve«Joe» Coffee. I really like when places have their own customized cups. There seems to be a correlation between nice cups and good coffee. Maybe it stems from caring about your product. I mainly chose this place because it was Air Conditioned. There is relatively limited seating but I found a place to settle in. There are 3 two tops by the window and four or so two-person tables along the side. The place only gets four stars for the moment. However, I will have to return to try their pastries and other fares which looked amazing.

Location: Two stores down from Konditori and not far from the A train /within 5 minute walk. Service: Everyone seemed happy and they were helpful. Food: THEYSERVEFOOD! Most cafes only have muffins bullshit that they get delivered from bakeries. Not here! At Bien Cuit they make fresh bread, pastries, and also serve sandwiches! I got the pumpkin Latte with a goat cheese croissant. They toasted my croissant and it was crisp & buttery. oh wow it was good. The latte was on point too. Its hard to find a flavored Latte(outside of Dunkin Donuts & Starbucks) so I was glad to see the pumpkin flavor available. They did not use a syrup for their pumpkin latte either. It looked like pumpkin pie filling mixed into it. The latte was smooth and had a rich pumpkin flavor but not too sweet. Just the way I like it. I will definitely come back here again and I am bringing some friends.
