I see bad reviews of this place, and I just wonder how.
Every time I’m in I am greeted with a smile. My clothes are usually ready same day or at the latest next day (the drop off service is priced extremely reasonable).
One time, the woman working thought she had caused a stain that was actually pre-​existing and she oxi-​cleaned the shit out of the item until they looked brand new.
Closed on Wednesday, but Sunday is laundry day anyway, stupid.
I’m backing this place forever.

Someone needs to seriously clean and deodorize this place, the machines leave your clothes with a funky smell. Every corner of this place is filled with piles of junk, lately I’ve been seeing roaches near the change machine and near the back table. So far I haven’t taken any of these critters home, but someone really needs to address this, it is gross.

The lady that works here is literally the rudest, most unhelpful person ever. I brought dry cleaning in and went to pick it up a couple weeks later because I was out of town and she literally acted like I had somehow caused her the worst inconvenience. She yells at you if you close the dryer doors to hard for her liking and is generally unhelpful and acts put upon if you ask her for the slightest help. If they fired her then maybe this place would be better because the machines and environment are fine, but the lady running it is the worst.

Worst of the worst. Extremely rude people. I just walked out from this place. My coin was stucking in the coin slot, and the people there yield to me «why do you put the coin there»… And keep cursing me…(I’m just trying to use your shitty dryer…) I feel terrible, and it’s completely ruin my day

I heard many good reviews on this place, so I decided to try it out. The people there were extreme rude. They tried to overcharge me. They weighed my clothes and right in front of me told me it weighed more than it actually did. I called the woman out and she refused to weigh it again. I immediately grabbed my clothes and walked out. Absolutely unacceptable.

I walk the extra block to go to this one. A really nice woman and her mother run it. They will work with you if you need to get something back in a hurry and I’ve never had anything damaged or lost. Bonus coffee and $ 0.25 blow pops and fruit by the foot (if you’re 12… Or 28).

The woman that helped me when I first came in for the drop-​off service was unbelievably nice and quick. The price is also great, $ 8.90 for a minimum of 10 lbs. Cash only!

One of the women who works there is literally the nicest person I’ve ever met. I walk out of there smiling every single time she helps me. They have good rates and are usually pretty accommodating to when you need to pick up your laundry.

Easily the best laundromat in the neighborhood! Incredibly nice and friendly service, good drop off rates, and clean. Closed on Wednesdays.

This place is great. The hours are not. Affordable, super friendly staff and a beverage selection… They do dry cleaning and the price per pound is less than most others in the area. Get your clothes cleaned here if you live east of Bushwick around metropolitan.

They’ve been closed for like two months and the date of the re-​opening keeps changing. What happened?

In general, what I want out of a laundromat is a location close to my house, a comfortable place to sit and read (I’m a self-​service guy), a staff that treats their clientele like human beings, and sensible prices. Bean and Clean has all of that; in fact, it’s the most «neighborhoody» laundromat I’ve been to since before I moved to NYC. There are chairs and benches and some magazines. There’s a funky little snack counter (noticeable lack of beans, but I’m not going to complain), the staff is cheerful and attentive, and I was able to wash three loads and dry all my laundry to satisfaction for less than $ 10. Perfect.
Quick anecdote: Last time I was here, a seemingly strung-​out woman had come into the laundromat and fallen asleep on a chair. The woman who was evidently running the show that afternoon gently woke her up, asked if she needed a piece of candy in case she had a blood sugar problem, and checked back with her a few more times while making rounds through the store, until the possibly strung-​out woman was fit to get up and walk out the door. That was such a telling interaction to witness, when so many shopkeepers would have, I don’t know, just threatened to call the cops — I knew then Bean and Clean was my kind of people.

Bean and Clean’s great! If you’re looking for a huge, fancy, ²⁴⁄₇ laundromat this isn’t for you, but if you just want a nice, low-​key place to do your laundry, it’s perfect. The store is family-​run and the people are incredibly nice — they really watch over everything. I’ve never had any problems, and have barely ever had to wait for a machine (maybe once?) I’ve lived in the neighborhood for over a year and haven’t felt the need to go anywhere else!

so it’s smaller, not as slick and with old machines, but it’s a family-​run business and they’re sweet, caring people. quite frankly, i’d rather spend my quarters here.
plus they sell an assortment of snacks and drinks and there’s always magazines available for you to flip through while you’re waiting.

Interesting place. Homey-​feeling, can be a bit drafty in the cold. It’s funny because they really don’t serve coffee — there’s a white mr. coffee that looks like it’s never been used before sitting behind the counter. This place essentially gets the job done. Nothing super fancy — i guesss this is what a laundromat’s supposed to be.

Having a laundromat directly across the street from your apartment is unbeatable.
This laundromat is a neighborhood establishment. The owner, Gloria, is almost always there. She will remember your name, ask how you’re doing, and actually care about your response.
There’s always a pot of coffee on, although I wouldn’t call it a coffee shop. I didn’t even notice the name of the place until it was pointed out to me. It’s just a laundromat. It’s clean, well stocked, has a bathroom, and is run by really sweet people.
I do my own laundry and enjoy chatting with Gloria while I wait for the wash and dry cycles. It’s easy to avoid the «busy times» and most people start their laundry then leave, so it’s not crowded.
Gloria’s mother grows a variety of potted plants and they’re all hanging in the window or sitting outside and all of them are for sale. I’ve got several of them at home and they’re thriving and healthy.
Their being closed on Wednesday doesn’t bother me — even though after nearly three years I still catch myself walking out the front door with a bag of laundry only to see the gates down, «Aw crap. It’s Wednesday.»
No big deal. One day doesn’t make that big a difference in the grand scheme of things!

They have a lot of machines and are generally not too busy. Thus far I’ve never had to wait. They also offer drop off laundry serivce for .75 per pound for 30lbs or less and .65 a pound for over 30lbs. They’re closed on Wednesdays, which isn’t all that great and otherwise close at 8:30pm, which is also inconvenient. A selection of laundry soaps, dryer sheets and other laundry stuff, cold drinks, snacks, Advil and a variety of other items are available for purchase. There are magazines to read while you wait for your wash, but they are not new, so best to bring a book. Also they are called Bean and Clean, but often there is no coffee, so mostly they are just Clean.
Pretty decent place and the only place close to my house. My mega wishes are that they were opened 24hrs and offered more environmentally friendly products.
