Chinese skewers!!! Easy, quick, yummy. Beats all the others on the avenue and their aroma is the most beautifully intoxicating. They have both Chinese and English on their menu and they speak both languages as well. We’ve ordered practically everything here and lamb, beef, and chicken are usually our regulars. Leek used to be really really really out of this world when they added it on the menu! Leek was ocassional and usually sold out. Now, it seems they have leek regularly but they started to wrap only minature amounts in bacon and changed the mouth-watering sauce they used to use for leek. Unfortunate! But we still drive all the way to this cart in the midst of the night thinking about this cart and all it’s skewers!

Yes this cart is cheap but a dollar a skewer is the base price for every 8th Ave skewer cart. I ordered a lamb, beef, and fish tofu. All of them are tasteless even though she put spice on top of them. They pre-cooked their meat so the flavor is already lost when they recook it. I miss the old cart that used to be across the street from them.

Always can count on them being open when I have the munchies in the middle of the night. The flavour of the skewers are so good! They speak English and Chinese. They are quick and delicious!

The BBQ aroma is quite hard to resist when you’re in the area. They char up some nice skewers on the spot and you can choose either spicy or not. Extremely reasonable price from $ 1 – 3 per skewer. If you order a bunch, they’ll cook it and hand it to you, eating it fresh off the grill on the streets is quite the experience. Regular skewers – lamb, beef, chicken Average eaters – fishballs, sweet potato, chicken wing Exotic go-getters – squid, gizzards, fish tofu And then there’s the leeks, don’t know which category it would fall under but it’s a definite must get. Delicious!

Love this little cart! But sad they are only open late nights. They offer a lot of different skewers for only a buck! What a tasty and cheap treat.

I like the sausage on the catty corner(369BBQ) more. This one is open later, and is still cheap and delicious. Right by a great bar and the train.

I like cheap eats on a stick! Grab a few dozen and chow down with friends over a few beers at 2am. Can’t recall if I was drinking beer but that’s besides the point. Meat on a stick and you can suck and lick the stick after. What more can you ask for a buck! If you enjoy outside dining, grab yourself a stool or if you feel left out… squat like the others, the stick still taste just as good. I just wish they had wi-fi. Enjoy.

This was a great place to go to in 8 ave when you wanted BBQ food. It was convenient, and next to the bank and train station. The place usually have to wait on line. They would also do deliveries to bar and homes after ordering a certain amount. The both the 1st and 2nd owner was really nice. I’m going to miss this place, after that sad tragic misfortune that had happened to the 2nd owner on his birthday. many people will miss this place as much as i do.

Two Words: CHEAP, DELICIOUS! There hasn’t been a night where the cart is completely empty. Every time I walk by, there are always people waiting on line to order/pick-up their food. As far as I know, most of their skewers are only $ 1. It might cost a buck more for certain seafoods, but eh, it’s only a dollar more. If you ask me, this is definitely the best stand in 8ave. I’ve had beef, chicken, fishballs, tofu, and a couple of others before. They always give you an option of: spicy, mild, or no spice; and they’ll sprinkle the chilli powder onto your skewers as they cook the meat. Mmm~ Yum!

There are about 10 different varieties of skewers and lamb is my favorite, but they’re all really good, it’s well marinated, and they add more spices while it’s being grilled and probably the best in Brooklyn.

$ 1 for tasty food on a stick. As the charcoals glow, these two guys make magic with it. A simply fried tofu threaded on a bamboo skewer turns into a deliciously sweet cumin and chili pepper heaven on a stick. The fish balls are also fantastic. The only reason I can’t give the guys 5 stars is that the lamb and chicken are a little fatty and sinewy for my liking. .. I’m sure not a view that others share. On the weekends, the guys break out the expensive stuff like squid with chili garlic and hoisin sauce for $ 2.00. The wait isn’t very long, but the guys aren’t very talkative, but hey, you can’t ask too much of them for a $ 1. SUCH a treat for a hungry traveler just trying to get home after fighting through the supermarket jungle.

I’ve been wanting to review this place since forever but never knew there was a review page for it until about a day ago. Once I found out the page existed, I used it as an excuse to drive down here to «do some research» to make sure that the quality is still the same before I could give the place a fair review. Yep, still one of the better BBQ meat on a stick carts around. The great thing about this place is that they marinate everything very well and it shows with each bite that you take. Once cooked over charcoal, they sprinkle a generous amount of cumin seasoning to everything then they ask if you want chili powder added on top of it. For me, the answer is always a yes for the chili powder. The choices on a stick here is beef, lamb, chicken wing, tofu, fish balls, and hot dog. My favorite is the lamb(really tender), but the tofu, beef, and chicken wing isn’t too far behind. Everything is a dollar a stick except for the chicken wing, which costs $ 1.50 each. This is as cheap as good street food gets. It’s very small though so it’s only good for a snack or else you would have to buy a lot to fill yourself up.

i’ve walked by this meat on a stick stand a few times and noticed that theres always a line, so I decided to try it. The beef is pretty good, very tender and juicy! I also like the tofu on the stick and it’s only $ 1! I hear sometimes he hangs around till 4am.

YUMMYYY in my tummy!!! For $ 1 you have your choice of either BBQ lamb, chicken, hot dog, tofu, or beef on a stick! It is sooo good! The wait usually isn’t too long, usually less than 5 minutes. It’s right in front of the HSBC bank and train station so they get pretty good business. A very big plus is that it’s open till about 3AM! How awesome is that when you’re drunk and you get off the train station and there’s food right there for a dollar?! Gotta love that.
