Okay, I’ll admit it. My teeth are a wreck. I’ve probably sent a dentist’s kid to college. My old dentist would get this dour look on his face anytime I had a problem. Okay, I get it. I need dental work. I don’t like being treated like my mouth is horrible– I already know. Dr. Levy came in, looked at my teeth in a nonchalant way and told me what needed to be done. His bedside manner is great. I didn’t freak out because of the look on his face– I didn’t need to! He told me that I do need some work done, but he did it in a way that made me feel normal. He’s been in practice for 40+ years, so he knows what he’s doing. His building and office are obviously older, but he’s probably been there for many years. His staff is pretty nice, but when I’ve gone in, they’re kind of a wreck. They’ve ultimately been helpful, which I think is the most important thing. They’ve dealt with my insurance so that I don’t have to wade through all that. That’s also important to me. They offer gas for $ 45. My old office charged $ 150. I’ll take the $ 45, thank you. I have serious dental fear, but I know I can afford the gas, so I don’t end up sobbing in the chair. He’s also understanding about dental pain. I had to wait a week between seeing him and the specialist he recommended(Dr. Jones), and he made sure I had enough pain medicine to see me through until I saw the oral surgeon.
