Baked In Brooklyn Bakery Store

This place has gone from a really great outlet with a good variety of inexpensive baked goods, to just another boutique bakery.
Not so long ago, the main shelf when you first walked in was stocked full of all sorts of bags of rolls, and sliced loaves of bread and other things for a buck. NOW that shelf has individual items like ONE ROLL for 75c!
Way too many frou-​frou cupcakes and things and prepared food.
Used to be able to get a bag of house-​made croutons for a buck, now they no longer even make them.
It was discovered, it got hip, and they took advantage, plain and simple. No reason to go out of my way here anymore, its now just another baked goods boutique. :-(

I try to come here early on Sunday mornings, so I can get the first pick of their fresh baked breads but I never make it early. By the time i get there (11:30AM) they only have bagels, baguettes and a few bread rolls left. They recently added a new display of baked goods, good sales tactic to get people to carb-​overload, haha. There isn’t too much space in here, it’s all taken up by bread. They have excellent breads. My favorite are the mini cranberry rolls and my mom’s favorite are the sesame loaves. They have a lot of other carb goodies too like huge brownies, cupcakes, cookies, and more flaky pastries. I haven’t tried those, but I did try the brownie and donut. I got tricked by how large the donut was, and how nicely it was frosted too! I was expecting a fluffy bite, but it was too bready! NOOO. I was so disappointed. They also make their own pita chips, which are soooo addicting! Sriracha is the best! I will continue coming back for their fresh breads and pita chips!

I went here for breakfast today. It was a little confusing. I think I took someone else’s breakfast sandwich on accident. The lady called the order out twice and no one answered and it was what I order just not a bagel. It was good, so whoever ordered it thanks for the amazing sandwich. The coffee is good and a little on the strong side. The place is clean and smells really good. The cupcakes looks good. I saw this guy carry out a three tier cake all fancy out of the store without a box. What a bold man! The cake looked good and fancy, but no box. LoL check out the place.

Excellent bakery. The best one in NYC.
High quality in great price. Chocolate donut is only 1.5 USD and was great.

Was trying to place a catering order for a customer (I live out of state) and they never answered their phone. :(

I love the fresh bread here, it really makes my weekend. A nice variety of breads and baked goods. They have coffees also, though I have not tried it. Fresh bread comes out at about 10:30am.

This review is only for the bagels, I didn’t get a chance to try anything else. Since coming off night shift & its alternate side I decided to search for a place to find breakfast. This place popped up on Unilocal & they were offering a free bagel so OBVY I had to check it out.
The bagel was bomb. Very doughy, I know that’s not for everyone though.
My gripe with this place is the selection. I came in at 8−830am so it’s not like the place was at the end of the morning rush & they had like 4 bagel flavors & only option for cream cheese is plain. I know they’re a bakery but have some options man!
I will def be back to try a sandwich or some baked goods so will update at that point.

My husband last weekend came home with some boars head cold cuts and seeded Italian bread from this place, I usually like my Italian bread from one place only, but I gave it a try… and it was HARD, like rock hard, and when you did get a bite the damn mess it made, the top of the bread was overly baked, very dark, had way too many seeds, on the top & bottom of the loaf. The mess it made on my table to eat a simple cold cut sandwich was incredible, I really hate to throw away food, but after I we ate our sandwiches the bread went in the garbage. They need to take a trip to Mazzolas Bakery on Union Street, order a seeded loaf from there, and then go back to your kitchen and try to make yours like theirs…

So I have turned the corner on this place a bit and I can admit when I was entirely wrong. I go here now and then to pick up whole wheat pita at a good price (occasionally some other odds and ends as well). I must say though I wish they were a bit faster — I’ve seen people about to loose their mind waiting for a breakfast sandwich on several occasions.

Yesterday was i think my third time here ever. I went there to pick up bread for myself and my aunt since I was house sitting. I thought I would leave it there for her when she came back.
It was around 3:30 that I got here. I see they had the $ 1 pack special they usually do on the weekends. I picked up four packs of 4– 3 of pumpernickel and 1 of rosemary focaccia.
To my surprise it was rung up as only $ 2. What a bargain for fresh bread that is not made overly soft and doesn’t sit on grocery shelves.

Location… ok, could be better but accessible. The place smells great and is inviting. The staff was verrrrry sloooow but they were very pleasant!
I got a loaf of bread which was phenomenal.
I ordered two cream cheese bagels and they were anemic! The amount of cream cheese was less than I would get at a cheap spot or at home myself. I’ve been to bagel stores where the cream cheese bagel is a meal.
I also couldn’t resist trying the vanilla frosted donut. OMG!!! As anemic the bagel was, the donut was all the amazing! That damn thing was huge and heavy. I split it with my son and it was so soft and fresh… SO GOOD, that alone will get me back in there. Those donuts would put DD out of business easily! The good prices and the freshness of the products will keep me coming back.

Good selection of breads, pita, and rolls in packages for $ 1, when they are normally 3 – 4 times that price in stores — plus everything is fresh and made onsite. during lunchtime they have roasted tomato or grilled onion fococcia for .50cents each.
The pastries and sweets are delicious, but I don’t really feel like spending more than $ 1 on a pastry.
The store is very clean and bright, plus you can see the kitchen through a large glass window, and it looks like these people enjoy what they do.
My knock is that they end breakfast a little early — and I don’t think the regular bread loaves are out until lunch.

As huge as the place appears from the outside, I expected a cornucopia of unique baked goods. Cupcakes, danishes, cinnamon rolls, breads, rolls, lemon bars, etc.; very run of the mill. No pizzazz. Even the cupcakes lacked umph. There was a strange flan cupcake though.
I’d hoped to be WOW’d. Fail. A regular bakery in a modern setup.
Had a scone drizzled with frosting. Average.
The free WiFi and marble counter top is very nice.

One of the freshest bakery you can eat from. If you visit in the morning, their variety of pastries and bread are the best.

Best kept secret! Great breads. As far as pastries are concerned, they’re a lot better than conventional supermarket crap yet, they’re not culinary gourmet. I love this place for giving us options. Also, pricier than a local mom and pop’s Italian bakery but on the very bright side, there’s a $ 1 table for yesterday’s goods.

Any walk down to Sunset Park for a picnic involves 2 stops… first at Baked in Brooklyn to pick up your crack… um… I mean dessert, then at Ba Xuyen for your banh mi sandwich. What often happens is that you’ll end up consuming dessert BEFORE lunch because there is no possible way that you can stare at one of their doughnuts/​cupcakes/​brownies for 20 min and NOT eat it. I swear my eyes double in size and then glaze over as I stare at their layout.
It’s a fine bakery. It’s not the absolute BEST brownie or cupcake or doughnut I’ve ever had, but good enough… and tempting enough that I dare you to walk into this store, and then leave without purchasing anything. I. Dare. You.

From the delicious smell of baking bread wafting towards the cemetery, I could tell this place would be good. Despite the bare look, it isn’t hipster at all with an awesome selection of bread, pastries, olives, cheese, and cured meats at reasonable prices. They don’t really write the prices down anywhere so I had to ask an employee who was super nice and helpful and even pointed out the $ 1 shelf of rolls that I’d completely overlooked! Plus they were buy one get one free! 2 packs of focaccia herb rolls for $ 1 is quite a bargain in my book. And proves that everything really is baked fresh every day.
Whole loaves of bread ran from $ 2-​$ 4 – quite good for freshly baked bread. Donuts looked delicious and were only $ 1.25. Too bad I live so far from here or I’d make it a regular haunt.

Due to the fact that I don’t live too far from Baked in Brooklyn and that I pass it quite frequently I have no clue how I’ve never actually stopped in before today. Also I’m surprised that the smell of fresh bread from the BQE and all the surrounding blocks hadn’t lured me in sooner. Nonetheless, my 1^st trip to Baked in Brooklyn was quite purposeful as I was looking to pick up some cupcakes and a simple bagel with cream cheese. I ended up also trying their bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious; especially the bacon, egg, and cheese on a fresh bagel. There was a large variety of cupcakes from PB& J to Red Velvet to Cookie Dough to Double Chocolate. I thought the glass window to the actual bakery side was pretty cool. It gives patrons a look inside as to how the items are baked on the premises. If I lived a little bit closer I’d probably make a daily stop. I will definitely be going back for more!

On a spooky visit to the Greenwood Cemetery was complete with a visit to this nearby bakery. I was lured in by the smell of fresh carbs, what can I say.
The moment I walked in there was a rack filled with hot-​cross buns. Like in the nursery rhyme! For $ 1.50, I got 6 of the beauties in a brown bag ready to take home, along with a baguette that looked like it was modeling itself for a Parisian ad.
The bread was so out-​of-​control delicious, we almost didn’t eat the rest of our dinner.
And those buns are the perfect pre– or post-​breakfast snack, I tried it with some apple butter!
