Specialties

We are to overnight lodging what the «slow food movement» is to eating! We provide the luxury of basic needs met well — comfortable beds, healthy and delicious food, use recycled, organic and fair trade products, locally and sustainably produced wherever possible, and will charge less than the national chain hotels.

History

Established in 2008.

There are very few quality spaces in and around Park Slope for visitors, but lots of demand from family and friends who come to the area to see loved ones and enjoy the cultural institutions, the park and the local food. I spend 15 years creating a home that is a comfortable and clean refuge where I can relax and feel ‘at home’. Two years ago, I decided I would share my home with others who are looking for a safe, relaxed environment where they can relax and watch a movie, have a cup of tea or hot chocolate or order in dinner. Working in business and finance I traveled extensively for 20 years which taught me the difference between a great and disastrous lodging experience. It’s all in the details and the way you treat people. Ours is much more than a place to sleep and bathe — it’s a second home near your loved ones that gives you the space you need to make your visit stress free and relaxing.

Meet the Business Owner

Donald L.

Business Owner

An aspiring writer, I work with my good friend and business partner, Marco, a painter from Tuscany, who is making his mark on the local art scene. Running the B&B provides us with enough spare time to pursue our creative interests and still pay the bills. We also feature the work of other local artists on our walls. I spent 20 years working in finance, quit in 2001, and moved to Italy to write full time, and returned to my home in Brooklyn in 2005 to be closer to my grandchildren. Marco studied at the academy of fine arts in Florence, and moved to NY in 2008 to help set up and run the B&B, and to seek more inspiration for his work and an audience that was willing to support his creative efforts.
