I love this little health food store because of the level of customer service. It is run by really nice people. They are knowledgeable about their stock and if they are out of stock on something they will very often order more or order an item for you if their supplier carries it.

I’m actually surprised this place has such high ratings. Yes, the owners are nice and Nickolas the cat is a cutie. However, they really don’t have a lot of things I find in other heath food/product stores and their stuff is so overpriced! They sell a type of soap I love, which I used to buy in Ditmas Park when I lived there, for $ 1.79. Appletree sells it for $ 3.99! A medium bag of chips was $ 4.49 or something like that — it’s only a little more than other places, but it adds up. I also think they could make more of the space and have a greater variety of items. It’s disappointing because there are not many places to buy these kinds of things in Bay Ridge.

I like this store but since they moved, I cannot go there because my wheelchair cannot go up their step. This is a common problem on 3rd Avenue. Getting inside a store(or restaurant) is better than waiting outside for an item to be brought out.

Recently relocated from up the block, this small organic market is slated to expand. The owner is welcoming and knowledgeable. She also has a friendly cat named Nicholas who lives in the shop. She has a great variety of gluten-free and vegan items for your pantry. I would like if she carried more local ingredients and healthy treats, but that’s just a preference.

I cannot recommend Appletree Natural Market enough. They have alway been so very helpful. I called to see if they had a product and when my husband got there they had it ready and waiting. Good selection and exceptional service.

Aw this place is so cute. Solid place to find organic snax and nuts in neighborhood. Also cute cat hangs out there. Thank goodness for it’s really the only organic market around these parts.

I love this place. I live nearby and I am addicted to the vitamin e stick which I use around my eyes and mouth for extra moisture. Could not do without this store. I live nearby and it is my first go-to place. Now as the store’s cat. He is adorable. I have seen children come into the store just to pet the cat who usually sleeps on the counter, near the front door or in the windows. In fact, one day, during this past terrible winter, I was having a terrible day with the ice and snow drifts and I twisted my left knee which I had fallen on in a snow drift days before. I came into the store and asked the owner if I could sit down for a minute. As I sat there I started crying from frustration with the winter as well as from the pain. As I sat at the front window, the cat jumped up. I thought he would go sleep in the front window but instead, he climbed into my lap, and started touching my face gently with his paws and rubbed his face against me as if to say don’t cry. He stayed with me until I got up since my knee felt better. Although I come into the store often, generally he ignores me as just another admirer. If he scratched this dog, it had to be because he felt threatened. Notice, this person is the only dog owner complaining about the store’s cat. What does that tell you.

Excellent service. Go to place for all your needs. Staff very knowledgeable. They are willing to carry the best quality of items to guaranty the customers satisfaction. Tons of great gluten free selection. They listen to the customer when recommendations are made. Can’t get better than that.

We used to shop here regularly, but stopped going a few years ago when some of the food we bought had gone off. We were nearby today so decided to check it out. The prices are now through the roof. Over $ 10 for McCann’s Oatmeal, and $ 4.29 for Sam’s cereal. Are they kidding? I don’t care how healthy the food is to eat — it’s not healthy for my wallet!

Appletree is my friend. It reminds me of a miniature version of the co-op in Ashland, Oregon, home of all things crunchy and wholesome and healthful, from whence I originally hail.(There’s also a famed Shakespeare festival, so if you’re from there you’re required to use words like«whence» at regular intervals or your native status gets revoked.) But as usual, I digress. Appletree, in good ol’ Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, is pretty much as good as it gets in terms of natural markets in these parts, although unfortunately, that’s not saying a great deal, since people in Bay Ridge still go cockeyed when you say the words«organic» and«all natural.» This place packs a lot into a small space. I go for nutritional yeast to put on my popcorn(it’s an Oregon thing), organic popcorn kernels(because Monsanto can burn in hell), natural hair products(they’ve got a respectable selection), Applegate Farms products and herbs and supplements of all kinds. Having a weird physical issue? Go and ask the people who work there if they have anything that might aid you with your particular problem. They are very helpful. When I was having terrible acid reflux, the owner suggested I take Japanese coral calcium. I had been taking Dexilant for months already and it was barely keeping the problem at bay. I am one hundred percent positive that quitting Dexilant and taking the coral calcium instead cured me of my acid reflux entirely. And it made my nails really strong. Bonus! I do think the prices are a little steep and they don’t always have the wide variety of goods that I’d like to see there, but they do a great job of keeping the shelves stocked with new, high quality products. Because they work with small distributors and vendors, some of your favorite items may disappear or be hard to come by after you’ve already fallen in love with them. But isn’t that just life? Thanks for always being there for me Appletree.

Stumbled upon this place while walking up 3rd Ave. They are well-stocked, friendly, and even have a bulk section. I will be going back for sure.

I think every neighborhood needs a go-to place for organic, cruelty-free, special diet foods, supplements, and Appletree is it for Bay Ridge. It’s great to be able to find these special things locally even if the pricing is EXPENSIVE, and I recommend this store with one caveat: check sell-by and expiration dates carefully! I saw bouillon on the shelves that expired last year.

If you can’t find it any where else — this place has it. I always get what I need — from tea tree oil to incense to almond milk. The staff are helpful and kind and ready to assit. This store is a great find and a great local business in Bay Ridge.

I’ve recently gone raw-vegan for health reasons and have a very difficult time finding the somewhat rare ingredients for a lot of the meals I have been preparing. I also live in Coney Island, Brooklyn, which is not known for it’s vast array of health food stores. :) I stumbled upon Appletree one day while driving up 3rd Ave. I pulled over and stopped in on a whim, and whamo! They had every rare, strange, hard to find ingredient that I needed and had been searching for. Score! I loves this place and go back every week now.
