Always Ready Locksmith

Horrible service. Please don’t use this locksmith. I called them out of desperation after being told by every other locksmith that they couldn’t come help that day and I sincerely regret this decision to use this company.
My bike lock jammed with the key broken off inside of the lock. My only option was to find someone who could use a grinder to saw it off. They quoted me an estimate of 50 – 80 dollars (already more than what it should cost, but I was desperate). When the «locksmith» arrived, they said it was going to cost $ 120 instead. It took the guy all of five minutes to saw through my u-​lock, but he had a horrible attitude and was very rude. He definitely took advantage of my situation.
When I asked for a receipt he wrote down the information on a blank page of paper which had no company information on it. To get this information, I took a picture of a business information listed on his car. He saw me do this and told me I had to delete it! Very sketchy to say the least.

This is not a Brooklyn based locksmith, beware of them. I suspect that they have other listings on Unilocal too. When I needed a high security lock replaced, they gave me a knock off lock. I only realized this after needing keys — I took the key to 5 different locksmiths and they all told me that it was a made in China knock off lock. To add insult to injury, it is also impossible to get a key made, I had to go to this locksmith for keys @ $ 25 per. Beware, beware, beware.

Terrible experience. The guy was rude, smug and left a huge mess on the floor, which he refused to clean up. Said it’s not his job to clean up after himself. Have you ever seen a contractor do that? For the amount he charged us (for an average job), you can definitely find a better service.

This should probably be flagged. The phone number listed connects to a dispatch-​only outfit, with no street address (and no key-​making service). There is a good locksmith on 2^nd St. in Park Slope, immediately below 7^th Ave. But these are not them (and I’m more than a little suspicious of outfits who won’t give out an address).

Normally I only care about food, but I really liked the guy who was working here, so this will be my first and possibly only review of a locksmith:
A super nice guy in a friendly little neighborhood place made me some keys, and that about covers it. Let him make your keys too!
