A bit disappointed– buyer beware
I went in to buy a sofa, and decided to purchase the floor model for around $ 2600 from 3500. I paid for delivery and agreed that it was a final sale.
Within a few days, the buttons from the tufting became loose and fell off. I called for advice and they sent a tech to fix it for free. This was great, but only fair as A&G wanted to keep a client, and was conducting good business.
Flash forward 3 months later, more buttons falling off. I travel for work and the couch is lightly used. I called to ask for assistance and they said to take photos and email again.
The next day the customer service contact sent me the info for the tech and said they can’t help as it was a floor sample. Last time they sent a tech for free was a mistake.
I dread thinking about how this sofa will look after a year.

Save your money and go to a more reputable establishment where they stand by the quality of their merchandise.

A&G Merch has kind of a Williams-​Sonoma meets Pottery Barn feel to it.
A lot of home gee-​gaws that you have to have and know you really can’t afford.
But they Look. So. PRETTY.
And so you finger, sit, drool and pretend.
The stools here, the table there… need them. for my west side loft apt.
Wait.
I don’t have a west side apt.
I don’t have a loft.
I don’t even live in New York!
But when I do, I’m coming back to get some stuff from here.
I can’t be a fan yet, cause that is reserved for at least one or two more wanders into the store and that is gonna be hard for me to do as I live a plane trip away.

While their merchandise is obviously cute, the quality and customer service is majorly lacking. I ordered a couch from them which arrived MONTHS late. When it was finally delivered, the delivery people couldn’t get it through the door and took it away. When it was delivered a second time, the delivery was overseen by us and got in the door frame without issue (simply by taking the feet off the couch). A&GMerch then tried to bill me for re-​delivery. Um, no.
Within the first week of having the couch, one of the buttons popped off, two more were quick to follow suit. When i contacted A&GMerch about this issue they were very aware of this problem stating that many of their customers had experienced the same issue. Where was this knowledge when I purchased the couch? They then referred me to a couch doctor to come and repair the button damage… totaling another $ 400.00.
We won’t be going back there.

I got some nesting tables there that were cool. Expensive for what they were, but cool. One star for that. I am a sucker for animal-​themed stuff, and they have that in spades, so another star right there. (I’m not personally buying a $ 75 throw pillow with a silkscreen of a blue whale, but I appreciate the thought,)
Then today I went in to check out the price on an orange shelving unit I had scoped last time I was in there. The man told me it was the floor model/​last unit available. As it was scratched up on the top and sides (from being said floor model), I asked what the discount would be.
He goes to confer with the snotty girl at the cashier about this, and I hear her say «Oh well, we don’t really want to sell it. We’d rather keep it for the store. But I guess she can have it for full price.»
The guy comes back repeating to me how they could «let» me have it for what it is marked. I was already out the door.
Wow – so you are really going to generously allow me to buy the crap you are selling in your store? Thanks, Awesomesauce! Too bad they’re already picked that new pope!

I was a little disappointed coming into this store. I read so many four star reviews, did my research on their website, and to be honest, I found the website WAAAY more useful, more convenient than this actual store. It was too small. And carried a handful of times from each category. Brooklyn is a trek for a Jersey girl like me. If I went to Brooklyn strictly to scope out this shop, I would have been upset.

This is a nice unique furniture store that has its own characters and yet is not stuffy. The price is definitely up there so it is perfect for Williamsburg hipsters and trendy young city dwellers.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I can spend that kind of money. Nonetheless, it is a cool furniture shop for sure.

Being that I’m just now getting comfy with my New York digs, it’s all about making my itty bitty studio apartment into a place that feels like home… and A&G has been one of my go to spots for unique home accents. With all sorts of locally-​focused gems, I feel more like a permanent resident, and not just a chap rolling through town for a brief stint.
Among some of their rare finds that I couldn’t walk away without swooping include a great welcome door mat, a handcrafted nautical rug, and a nifty artist rendering of Brooklyn… and trust there were plenty of other goods I’d have loved to walk away with had my bank account contained more zeros. Wamp, wamp, wamp. Will have to save the shopping spree for a future trip.
It’s easy to just dip into an Ikea to outfit your place in one fell swoop, but where’s the fun in that?

Seems like a pretty good place to buy a couch. Modern, comfortable, and affordable.

A great store full of contemporary and handmade décor and furniture. The selection is always changing, so it never «gets old» to visit. This a great store to go to for unique, sometimes quirky, gift items

I can’t say enough good things about this store. Besides their awesome selection of house good and being amazingly nice, their customer service is the cat’s pajamas. We purchased a floor model couch from them, and the springs broke a few times. Each time they had the repair out here within a week. And the third time it happened, they replaced the couch with a brand new one within 3 days.
Totally awesome store. Go, shop, love.

Moving into a studio apartment and paying New York City rent isn’t easy. Trying to find stores with unique items for less that are brand new, and you’re talking time, efffort, heartbreak, and maybe even heartburn.
Luckly, A and G Merch, although pricey, does have some very unique items that make it okay to feel good about splurging.
I bought a bottle opener to mount in my kitchen (always wanted that) as well as a shelf that looks like a piece of wood. I thought it looked cool, simple, rustic, and had use (especially when your walls in a studio are your biggest advantage. They also have good service, are not overly pushy, and are knowledgeable. A great place to check out and find one of a kind items for housewarming (my own I mean)

A&G Merch has the coolest sofas! The moment you walk in, you will notice all the simple, classy sofas they have. They are all extremely comfortable too.
Some items seemed overpriced (especially the knick knack stuff), but they were all very cute and interesting. I especially loved all the colorful paper-​mache stuff they had on the wall to the right when you walk in. It inspired me to want to make one of my own… soon!
The table/​desk they use for the cashier is so cool! I didn’t even notice it at first because the store is full of cool stuff but their table is really neat.

Perfect little home décor store. I bought my coffee table there and couldn’t be happier with it. Searched far and wide for a cool, unique table for under $ 500 and stumbled upon a really cool one for only $ 298 on their site. A distressed wood top with metal legs. Went in the store to check it out, they had it on display, looked even better in person, and boom, took it home that night. Their price points are great, the pieces are well-​edited. I can’t speak for the quality of the bigger items like couches and dressers and whatnot, but I love my coffee table!

My NYC hostess said she really wanted to visit this home goods store when we were walking around Williamsburg, and I’m really glad she introduced it to me. It’s an eclectic shop with everything from designer couches to fun little novelty beer glasses and coffee mugs. My favorite items included some big old bean bag type pillows that they encourage you to try out, a Mad Men style couch in a turquoise tweedy material, and some invisible wall shelves that I really wish I bought. It’s a great place to find a gift for your cool friend or to add to your hip little Brooklyn apartment. They also have a decent sized area in the back with lots of sale items. Highly recommended if you’re looking for that special something for your home!

Quirky, bespoke bric-​à-​brac store filled with lots of eye-​candy-​worthy goods. Some expensive items but lots of affordable stuff too.
For me, true sign of a place I’d return to is how many items I see I think would make amazing, one-​of-​a-​kind gifts for friends and this place has the stash.
My fav item: wall-​papered hammers

This place is similar to those sketchy west village furniture stores. Cheap dorm stuff, tons of plastic, useless novelties. I saw a simplistic, wooden block priced at $ 700. The only thing that caught my attention were these wood coasters — which can easily be found everywhere.
I was underwhelmed with this place. Other Unilocalers claim this is the best furniture store in Williamsburg. Save yourself the time or go with low expectations.

Great gift/​novelty homegoods shop if you haven’t got too much to spend and want a fun little something, or if you have lots of money to burn and want a giant blue metal locker.
I brought my parents here when they visited recently (on their very first time in the city) and they loved it! I was really concerned with finding good places to bring them where they could shop for little knick-​knacky gifty things that were not crazy expensive but that were fun… things you just can’t find in Ohio! This fit perfectly.
I want the leather boar door jamb, the wood rummikub set (I WILL find someone to gift that to!), the Tord Boontje chandelier that I have always wanted but can now visit here, and all manner of other fun items. This is a great store. In fact, 4 stars for the whole block.

I like the displays and a number of items in the store. Their stock is a bit trendy and mass produced, and less classic designs if that makes sense. The price point is more reasonable that other design shops, but you get what you pay for. Definitely worth a stop in.

a&g merch is a bit of a pick-​me-​up when you’ve just left the future perfect and realize you want everything they make and can afford maybe a single napkin ring.
a&g has rad little home goodies, decorative items, place mats, plates and all other sorts of nifty tricked out domestic trinkets. this is a great place to go for gifts; i bought some things for my boyfriends mom here and she was thrilled.
