Chem-Dry of Minneapolis & St. Paul

I had my carpet cleaned on Friday by these guys and it was like brand new. The techincian was very knowledgeable and friendly. The truck was clean and the technician was very well groomed. They spent extra time working on my heavy traffic areas because we have berber carpet. I would highly recommend this company!

16hours before their appointment time they had with me that I booked almost 2 months ago they call and say they are short handed… Well awesome, I don’t care, this service is already paid for! As I call and complain the person on the phone was rude, told me I couldn’t talk to her like that and said they THINK someone will be out here during my scheduled time! Complete B.S. if you don’t want a full schedule or a lot of clients don’t offer specials especially if you can’t follow through! Can’t wait to see what actually happens tomorrow… All I can say Is I scheduled my day around this damn appointment and my condo move out. DON’T BOOK THEM!!!

Look at my other reviews. I rarely write negative ones. But this place is TERRIBLE.
I got a coupon for ChemDry and decided to use them to clean my condo’s carpet before I sold it. They didn’t have an appointment that worked for a few weeks – just before my house went on the market.
They scheduled the appointment from 9 to 11. As it turns out, they meant that was the arrival time, not the time of the appointment. So I ended up taking the entire morning off of work, because they didn’t arrive until 10:40.
Okay, whatever.
They spent nearly as much time setting up and trying to talk me into buying a more expensive package as actually cleaning my carpet. When they were done, I could still see that «high traffic» areas were darker than the rest, but the technicians said that was normal and that you wouldn’t be able to see it once it dried. (Then they asked me for a tip… since when do you tip people like carpet cleaners?)
You could see it. In fact, I took before and after pictures, and there is almost no difference. They also didn’t remove the only stain in my carpet which I pointed out to them ahead of time.
I reported my incident to ChemDry, explained why I couldn’t wait for them to reclean my carpet, and sent the before and after pictures. I was told that I would get a partial refund (about half of what I spent, including tip). Several weeks passed, and I emailed them to check the status of the refund. No reply. I waited some more and emailed again. This time I got a reply saying I needed to call Sam B, the owner (see the «filtered» rave review he tried to write for his own business below). I called immediately, left a message, and got a return message later in the day saying that he wouldn’t be refunding my money because he wasn’t «just going to take my word for it» that my carpet wasn’t cleaned.
To top it all off, when I told them I would be reporting my experience on review sites, they threatened to sue me.
Companies like ChemDry are what make dealing with service professionals a nightmare. At least most of them don’t ask for a tip and threaten to sue you after giving terrible service.
