Embassy Suites by Minneapolis North

Stayed at this hotel during my work travel and truly enjoyed this quiet and very nice hotel with an exceptional breakfast buffet which Embassy never fails on. Also the room service food was very good. My only complaint for this location is untrained and clueless hotel staff. We left our laundry from Thursday and it was never picked up so we had to find a local cleaners to have our clothes cleaned. One staff tried to fool us by stating our clothes were ready on Monday morning when in fact they tried to wash them at the hotel and give them back to us un-​ironed. I would stay here again but know most things you’ll be on your own unless the great Martin (bell hop) is there who was very helpful.

I stayed there from ⁸⁄₉ to ⁸⁄₁₄. I forgot my steamer in the room. I called them on ⁸⁄₁₇ and they redirected me to the maintenance manager. I left a voice mail but no call back. I called them again on 8/​18, the lady told me that she will give me a call back in few minutes but did not get any! I called them back on 8/​19, the lady told me that she will check the logs to see if they have found anything. She told me that she did not see anything in the logs but insisted that I should check back with the maintenance manager during business hour. I told my story and after that she recommended me to leave a voice mail for the General Manager. I did not get any response the next day either. I called them on ⁸⁄₂₀ and they redirected the call to the voice mail for GM. I called them back again right after and requested to have GM available on the phone. They told me that the GM is not there and will have him call me directly. It has been almost 3 hours and I have not received any call back!

Hands down the worst Embassy suites I have ever stayed in! Poor customer service, run down rooms, poor quality restaurant and the place is a zoo on the weekends. Horrible breakfast and the worst coffee imagine able. Spent 6 weeks in this hotel and I can only tell you to stay somewhere else in the area!

Nice rooms, little dated. Slow internet at times but over all good. Great breakfat in the morning then snacks in the evening time. Good staff no major complaints about my stay.

Rooms are clean. Building is new. Staff is friendly. And the restaurant puts out great food. I would stay here again.

Overall a nice Embassy Suites property although the only foreign delegates you’ll see at this Embassy may be Canadian. haha get it? Embassy, anyway…
I’ve been here a few times and have enjoyed the food coming out of the kitchen for dinner. They’ve mixed it up and have different things on the menu. Rooms are clean and nice. Everything else you come to expect from a Embassy when it comes to the breakfast, reception with the free booze, and great service here.
My only knock on the rooms is they are a bit on the dark side as it relates to lighting. Or at least mine have been. This place is a good option and great value if you’re up in the area.

Best embassy suites service. Hotel has a fresh design compared with older versions. Its the place to be if you’re a mom of three.

Great place! Very clean hotel and staff is very friendly. Price was lower than I expected. Rooms are huge and perfect for a family. Breakfast was pretty decent, above average. Pool area is good size and clean. Location seems a little off the path but worked out well for what we were doing. I will definitely be back.

This is my first time at an Embassy Suites. Location is not exactly ideal to restaurants, shopping, etc. but it did give me a sense of what the suburbs outside of Minneapolis. Construction is probably the biggest headache. The hotel itself is quite nice being nice to large office parks for the business traveler. Most guests were either construction workers or business folks. I was expecting the large atrium opening in the middle but just saw a little fountain in the middle.
Took a quick browse to the pool and exercise room. I expected larger being out in the suburbs but it will do. The exercise room is quite big which was nice to lift weights and run on the treadmill. Breakfast served in the restaurant across the front desk. Buffet exceeded my expectations with omelet made-​to-​order table as well as wide selection of fruits, yogurt, bagels, etc. Business center was nice as well with plenty of printers, copier, etc.
I had a 1 bedroom suite with king bed. It was really spacious and bed was super comfortable. I got a great nice rest that night. There were 2 TVs in the bedroom and living room. I could definitely see this as extended living with the amount of space. My Gold membership got me bonus 500 points and found 2 bottle of water in my fridge which was nice. There was no bathtub but a nice step in glass-​walled shower. Nice coffee selection in room as well as bath amenities. Would think of staying here again if work was nearby.

We stayed here in the end of July 2013. There was a very large family reunioun going on the entire weekend we stayed and thus we were very disappointed because we were unable to use any of the amenities that we paid for. Never got breakfast because the family reunion was so large they took up the entire breakfast area (which was large) for the whole serving times and once done they didn’t feel obligated to move on and staff did nothing about the other guests that were waiting and waiting for seating and ultimately had to leave and go to near by Dennys to actually eat. Same happened for the pool area, hot tubs and they family reunion party goes we LOUD all through the night and staff never attempted to quiet them. Woke up to leave with a huge pile of puke by my brand new vehicle with beer or something sticky ALL OVER the paint. Severely disappointed in Embassy Suites staff for allowing this to happen, they seemingly over booked themselves and it showed in every way. We complained on the way out (again) and really nothing was offered except shrugged shoulders and a fake «oh so sorry». This killed Embassy Suites for me, were now Starwood Memebers and will choose hotels accordingly to them…

The room was nice, staff were helpful and courteous. We stayed here for a friend’s wedding and couldn’t be more pleased with the place. The pool is small… but being indoors is a plus. The workout room is better than most other hotels. There is a free breakfast buffet that takes the cake. Don’t miss out on that.

I stayed at this Embassy Suites for 11 straight days and was worth the time and money. Very nice rooms and the layout of the rooms have been well thought of. Outstanding job to the builder. The manager social was good and they changed up the snacks every couple of days. Breakfast was Cook to order and it was great as well and all the staff members would always give me the greeting of the day. This hotel is worth staying at!!! The only issue was in the lobby the heater was not working that well and it was cold at the reception 6 of the 11 days. Other then that, it was a really good hotel.

Solid hotel! Overall had a decent experience.
The good:
— Great service, Miss Dani can be demanding at times, and whatever I asked for, I got. The staff was running to get stuff for me. So nice of them! I’m sure it has nothing to do with my short tight skirt.
— Fitness room and pool: new equipments, water is very clean
— Room: huge, very modern and clean
— Free breakfast: including omelettes cooked-​to-​order
— Free cocktails 5:30 — 7:30p, and snacks
The bad:
— Shuttle driver didn’t know where he was going — circled the blocks 3 times before he found the restaurant where we were being dropped off for dinner
— meeting room temperature control was broken — either too hot or too cold, sometimes I had my ski jacket on and shivering, sometimes I was sweating in a tank top and shorts. No, I’m not menopausing.
The ugly:
— wifi is worse than dial-​up, took me 5min to download 1 picture — guess that’s how they discourage people from watching porn!
— Food: Absolutely disgusting! We had lunch catered several days, I took one bite and tossed the rest. I highly suggest walking across the street to Panera. There are several other restaurants in the same strip mall.

I haven’t stayed at an Embassy Suites in a while and this has to have been the nicest one I’ve ever stayed at. Aside from the staff being ridiculously nice and affable, the room was clean and comfortable and HUGE. There is a happy hour every evening where a few of the local beers and I think it was one sponsored cocktail is free, along with some light munchies.
But the BEST part was — this is the only hotel I’ve ever stayed at where when you get a wakeup call, you go to your door, and waiting just outside (if you request it) is a small tray with a pot of coffee waiting for you. (I know, RIGHT???)
So, why didn’t I give it 5 stars with all this positive feedback? Couple of things:
There were some issues with communication — and not sure whether it was a hotel thing or a staff member thing. For example, the coffee wake up call was great, and I was so excited for it Saturday morning when I had to wake up at 5 to get my flight home — but they broke the news to me that the service was not available on weekends (wish they’d told me that at check-​in). Similarly, when I asked Friday night what time breakfast was served, they told me 6:30 — and it’s actually 7:30am on weekends. I would have called my cab for a different time had I known that. Finally, I requested by didn’t receive a wakeup call Saturday morning; the only reason I wasn’t late was that I was hit with some insomnia the night before and up from 4 anyway.
Those minor bumps aside, I recommend this hotel highly. Has a pool, is family friendly, and has a great staff who really speak with you, no matter who they are or whether you need help or are simply passing by!

Great hotel. The botanical gardens and reflecting pools thruout the center are beautiful and perfectly designed. Its such a surprise. This hotel even has a store in it for any inpromptu travel needs. I highly reccommend. Easy to get to from the airport as a shuttle is available complimentary upon request and only has a 15min wait. Breakfast is included and complete with a chef to prepare what you would like as well as a very full continetal buffet. The rooms are nice and clean and the toiletries pleasant. Its not a 4 star because it doesnt have turn down service but sure felt just as nice.

I don’t know if the hotel is brand new or they just recently updated all the rooms. Either way, if you haven’t stayed at an Embassy Suites before, here’s the breakdown:
— All rooms are 2 room suites, so you have your bedroom and then a living room with a microwave, fridge & sink.
— Free cooked-​to-​order breakfast in the morning
— Free managers’ reception from 5:30 — 7:30: this includes snacks & free alcoholic beverages (even bloody marys!)
The rooms are very clean, spacious and updated. Very comfy beds. All in all, a great deal for the price. The hotel staff are all super friendly and always treat me great! Plus it’s not too far from downtown Minneapolis, so it’s not a super expensive cab ride. Not to mention you don’t have to pay for parking. I highly recommend it!
FYI — The elevators have no smell that I noticed and I stay here on a monthly basis. I’ve never had issues with the WiFi, so perhaps Mike L hit them up at the wrong time. And who uses the hotel phones anymore except to call for room service, so you only need one to work and I’m sure if he had mentioned something to management, they would have brought him a new phone. Sorry to hear he had such a bad experience.

They have an event center that is connected to this Embassy that is mainly used for receptions and weddings. It is really nice. The rooms are really good and they give out drink cards for the hotel «happy hour». Ask about that. It is a great gesture on their part. I would recommend this place.

Not getting 5 stars because the shower stinks. Everything about this hotel is nice and new! Beautiful lobby, bar area, great exterior (it is fairly new) and super nice people. Bed was awesome (hit snooze three times) as was the 2 rook suite. Complete with mini-​fridge, microwave, wet bar, desk and 2 flat screen TV’s. The shower just plain stunk. Small stall with only one little place for your soap and shampoo etc. The shower head was hard to turn to change the setting. It went from a trickle to a pressure washer but sometimes the whole thing turned in your hand. Frustrating but a detail none the less.

Elevators smell like decomposing rodent carcasses.
Manager’s reception features Coors Light — better beer costs $.
Rooms are large and clean but bland.
Gym is small but functional.
Pool is tiny (10 yards long).
Only one phone in my room worked.
Wifi is slow.
Room service was fast and food was decent.
All in all, this hotel had no personality. I have been to plenty of embassy suites and this one falls just short. Not a bad stay, but I would have expected better amenities.

This looks to be a new hotel. Lobby was gorgeous, staff was very friendly. The manager remembers me and greets me every morning. Romeo who works the front desk, remembers me at every check in (and room service pick up lol).
Two flat screens in the suite, one in the living room and the other in the bedroom.
They give UNLIMITED manager reception coupons for alcoholic drinks– wow!
