Good subs especially the turkey with coleslaw — the Lucky 7. Need to increase the size of the sandwiches and make sure that all offerings are always available. Best hole in the whole meal you can find in Brookline.

I think the term hidden gem was coined specifically for Seven Subs. Tucked down Centre Street in Coolidge Corner and blocked from view by the giant intimate apparel store on the corner, Seven Subs is quietly churning out cheap and delicious subs(grinders, hoagies, whatever you want to call them) from a literal hole in the wall(I’m talking window service, people). The friendly cashier taking orders recommended the Lucky Seven and, let me tell you, the combination of turkey, cole slaw, russian dressing, and melted swiss atop a toasted sub roll made me feel like a lucky man indeed. The 10-inch large may have been a bit small for me(the ingredients weren’t exactly bursting at the seams), but I think most people would be satisfied with the size of the sandwich. Me, I like my sandwiches like I like my men, big and packing major meat.

I love this place. Been going here since it was Manhattan Sandwich shop. They had closed for a while which was a huge blow but thankfully reopened as Seven Subs. I hope they stay forever. I live nowhere near Coolidge Corner but am willing to travel for one of their delicious club sandwiches. Same guy has been there all along, good guy and I have to thank him for his commitment to keeping this place going and continuing to offer the same great sandwiches at the highest level of quality. I love Seven Subs!

I had the Lucky sub. It was pretty good, but thought it would be larger for the cost. Good sandwich but not amazing. I’m curious to try their other selections though. The service was pretty quick. It’s located sort of in a place you wouldn’t really notice on the side street.

I loooove this place! I am from the south and the only thing better is a publix sub. However, these subs come very darn close. The rolls are always fresh and you can tell the meat is fresh and good quality as well. Yes, you order from a window to get your food, but boston is famous for amazing food trucks. No difference. Some of the best food come from the smallest places. People need to forget about the huge chain companies, especially when you can support your local businesses.

Ordered three subs expecting a great meal. What we got were three burnt rolls and subpar meat. I have had better sandwiches at subway, and in saying that I would give subway 1 star as well.

The tuna melts are fantastic. It’s a fun little ‘hole-in-the-wall’ place. Food comes out fresh and hot. The vegetables used in the sandwiches tasted particularly fresh.

I work in the area and frequently eat lunch here and they never disappoint. My favorites are the Lucky 7, Big Red and Chicken Caesar Salad wrap. Great service and great food at a reasonable price! The guys who work here are always friendly.

Seven Subs is located around the corner from Lady Grace at 1364 Beacon St– and it is delightful! My boyfriend and I shared a small ‘Lucky 7′, a small ‘Wilbur’ and a small potato salad. We were both satisfied with this as our lunch. The Wilbur was pretty tasty– but it tasted like a sandwich I would make at home, so I wasn’t blown away. Now, the Lucky 7– Be still my heart! It was so delicious! Saucy and zippy and all things I look for in a sandwich. The bread they used was also fresh and delicious. They were out of macaroni salad, so we opted for the potato, which was shockingly great and tasted like a summer picnic. Creamy, with lots of dill. I have paid double for sub par, mediocre at best, sandwiches at restaurants and bars in Brookline, so I’m pleased to know this place exists! Note: it’s a take out window with a back patio for sitting. Perfect for the summer.

Darn good sandwiches. Tried and loved the Lucky 7. Tried and like the crazy Unforgiven. A small Seven Subs Sandwich compared to a 6-inch Subway Sandwich: It is more expensive and a bit smaller, but the quality of sandwich is far superior. The staff is nice. This is a takeout place, not indoor seating. They do have a couple of table set up around the corner.

Pros: Friendly staff, large menu, one of only a few«sub» shops in the area. Cons: Not high end lunchmeat, a bit sloppy, just had a «low end» sub shop feel to the sandwiches. I love subs and I haven’t been back.

I read the reviews on Unilocal and decided I had to give these subs and sandwiches a try for our next game day. I ordered the large chicken bacon club with guacamole and a meatball sub — both were tasty. However I also thought both were pretty darn small — for over $ 7 each, I was expecting something a little more substantial. The club was regular sandwich size and the meatball sub was on a pretty dinky sub roll. Had we ordered the small sandwiches I’m not sure what we would have gotten — half a sandwich and half a sub roll? Again, the taste was reasonable and the guy at the counter was friendly, but I can’t say I’m going out of my way to go back — I can get a better, and larger, sandwich at another local deli.

After reading the great reviews, I decided to(finally) check out Seven Subs. It was a-ok, but definitely not amazing. I ordered the Lucky 7(smaller than expected, but still enough) and the potato salad(very mayo-heavy). I’d probably normally give Seven Subs a 3 star rating, but the service was really friendly, and I appreciate the smiles.

You’d never know this place was here, if someone didn’t physically bring you there, and yet I’ve never been by here without seeing at least 3 or 4 people waiting for their sub. They don’t make the best sub I’ve ever had, but many times I’ve sat thinking about what I want to eat on a random Saturday afternoon, and I have a really hard time arguing myself out of walking my ass to Sevens. I hate potato salad, but the way people go on about the Unforgiven you’d think it was made with meth or something. Anyone I’ve ever seen eat one, closes their eyes and has the most bizarre expression of sexual fulfillment as they chew. Whatever floats your boat, you mayo-eating weirdos. Anyway, Seven Subs is just a really solid sub shop. It’s what they do and they do it well. Another place you probably want to get your food and bounce, because I’m pretty sure there’s more seating in the parking lot than their patio.

My go-to sandwich shop in Coolidge Corner. I’m a fan of the BLAST(BLT with avocado and sprouts– YUM) sandwich and I love the soft wheat bread they use for it. It’s nice and light when I’m not feeling a full on, heavy sandwich. I’ve had some make your owns, and some of the signature subs, and everything has been really satisfying. I like that they offer 2 sizes for each sandwich, and I might try a salad next time… the sandwiches are just so good that I always forget the salads.

This hole in the wall place serves sandwiches that are fantastic here. My favorite is the BLAST… bacon lettuce, avocado, sprouts, and tomato. That is served with mayo on really grainy bread. I love They boil their hot dogs, which I don’t enjoy. If they did their hot dogs on a grill or griddle then I would try them again but until then I’ll stick to their sandwiches. I think their ‘patio’ could use a bit of work. It abuts a parking lot so it could use some spark to brighten up the patio, or at least shield the cars more.

This is the definition of a hidden gem. You’ll find a window in the side of the building with some great outside seating. Two guys are whipping together sandwiches listening to heavy metal while you wait a minute for one of them to free them selves up to take your order. They take your order, say wait one minute and… well one minute later your sandwich is ready. Its on soft bread, with great sauces and fresh meat. So delicious. A side of potato salad rounds out the meal. The prices, a tad on the high side, are worthwhile for the size of the sandwich and the quality.

I grew up in a city with an unusually large selection of sub sandwich shops(I have no idea why). When I moved to Boston, I was a little worried — the only sub places I could find doubled as pizza places. Subs from pizza places are just never that exciting. They are always bland, and they always just seem like a crappy pizza on a sub roll. Needless to say, the lack of decent sub places made me even more homesick than I already was. Then I discovered Seven Subs. The subs here are exciting, different, and most important, they are delicious! Potato Salad, Roast Beef, and BBQ sauce? Yup, they have it. Turkey with coleslaw? Awesome. You are a less adventurous eater, you say? Never fear — they also have fairly standard subs. Best of all? This place is pretty cheap. Lunch for two is easily under 14 bucks. Outdoor seating only though.

There’s nothing to love about Seven Subs. Small is an understatement; it’s downright claustrophobic. The kitchen IS the space with year-round outdoor seating beside the ordering window and three copies of the menu. Their signature sandwich — the Lucky 7 — is nothing more than a Rachel on a sub roll, and with the complete acceptance of self-promotion, they STOLE my idea of topping subs with side items! Thieves! Yet, you end up loving Seven Subs for these exact reasons. A pitiful love you’d rather didn’t exist, but love nonetheless. Like how they call their pickle policy(«Ask for one, get one. Don’t, don’t») now-famous, and the manner in which they reward late lunchers(one free sandwich after 7 purchased post 2pm, M-F) to keep the flow steady. Unless you’re a pig, you can’t spend more than $ 10 on a meal here and this is the first sub shop that explains, in writing and with egregious detail, the difference between a small and large sandwich. On strong recommendation of a fellow Unilocaler, I tried the $ 6.50 Unforgiven, a toasted roll layered with roast beef, potato salad, melted provolone and BBQ sauce. Halved and wrapped as a square, it was pleasantly packed, not sloppy jalopy Lappy Dripperstein, with a solid combination of flavors that didn’t knock me over, but I stumbled a bit! If you find yourself in Coolidge Corner, owe it to yourself to shake the change out of your pockets and take home a cheap, satisfying lunch from Seven Subs. That is, if you can find it.
