After 5 months of pain due to a herniated disk I was lucky enough to cross path with Dr Kim. First: he took of time to explain the issue and treatment, gave me heads up that few local injection might be needed(It took three), Secondly: I can’t recall when a surgeon spent more than 5 minutes discussing my needs. He did not leave until he made sure he heard the story. He was compassionate, attentive, knowledgeable, respectful to my needs and input. In short a he is a kind man not only an excellent doctor. The only comment is about some of his female staff, the middle age blonde woman at the front desk is just repugnant in her manners. I hope patients do not get turned off by her. There is a young man at the front desk who tries hard to compensates for his colleague’ s rudeness.

I can only echo the praise that Robert Z has for Dr. Kim. I had a herniated disc in my lower back, the pain was literally crippling. I could not even walk. I was referred to Dr. Kim from a wonderful woman at the Beth Israel Pain Center in Brookline. In short, Dr. Kim is very compassionate. Confident without the cockiness. His staff are wonderful as well. Once he told me that I needed surgery, I immediately burst into tears. I’ve heard so many horror stories about spinal surgeries that end badly. Dr. Kim reassured me that my surgery was low risk with a high success rate. He was very straight forward with me about the whole thing. 12 days later I’m in surgery at Beth Israel with Dr. Kim. It is now 3 weeks since I’ve had the surgery and I feel great! I had my follow up visit with Dr. Kim a few days ago and he was genuinely pleased with my progress. This man truly cares. I can not recommend him enough.
