Was blown off by the receptionist completely in regards to my insurance. As a medical professional, I understand the complications of insurance all too well. So, to have been blown off and not even have her check my insurance was absurd.
I would not recommend coming here, because you will not be given good service or a chance to speak more than a sentence before your appointment is cancelled.

I have had a negative experience the last few times I’ve been to this Lens Crafters. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been to great ones but this one has repeatedly been a poor experience. First, I made an appointment with one doctor specifically (I’ve liked her in the past) and when I got there I was seen by a non-​experienced doctor. Not unfriendly, but definitely inexperienced and not who I came to see. Second, my wait was over 45 minutes long. I asked the receptionist how long it would be (after a half hour of waiting) and she didn’t do as much to say sorry or thank me for my patience. Next, about the eye glasses side of things, I have gone multiple times just to get the screws on my glasses tightened and when I asked not to have them altered, I was disregarded or met with a comment «no ones face is that crooked», well mine is! ***called the manager and she was very friendly.****Overall, an unpleasant experience today and the past few times so I would not recommend this Lens Crafters.

Staff are very nice. My nose pad became asymmetric because my face got hit when playing volleyball. I went a eyeglass store near Kenmore who is unwilling to help me fix it. Yet, this LensCrafters was willing to fix until you were satisfied and didn’t charge me any fees. I really appreciate them!

Went in here today to get a pair of prescription sunglasses. Vanessa here helped me out and gave me opinions on different frames and she suggested I go with a matte finish. Very pleased with the purchase. Vanessa was super friendly and helpful. If you go to lenscrafters, be sure to see if she can help! (lensecrafters, give her a raise please!)

Had my glasses adjusted here and they did a really good job in a short time. Went from sliding off my Asian nose bridge and giving me a pinching headache to nice and secure and no headache.

When does one ever feel inclined to write a review for their optometrist?
Dr. Buduo went out of her way to help get my prescription right, is generous with her time. In addition to what has been said about her professional skills, she is incredibly kind and caring and makes an effort to help her patients. A gem of an eye doctor!

I strongly recommend this store. Everything went so well from the eye examination to picking up my ready glasses. I had an eye Lasik surgery almost 2 years ago but it never delivered what I was expecting and I’ve been suffering from night glare, blurriness and foggy vision ever since. Dr. Buduo was so nice and she explained my results to me before heading to select my frames, which was great. One of the staff brought me a selection of what he thought would fit me best which I then selected 4 of them. His advice was so valuable and he knew what he was doing for sure. I finished the sale so quickly and in an hour time, my glasses were ready! This whole experience can’t be any better.

The other staff are pretty ok Esp the manager Nabil but the female optician Sherry, really gave me a hard time every time I went there. Also their adjustment skills are not that great. I went there often to have my glasses adjusted Cuz they didn’t seem very good at it. The frame never fitted. Imagine how frustrating was it that I have to go there every week to adjust my frame. And she just had an unfriendly attitude which made me very uncomfortable. She broke my glasses without apologizing. And then she got me another pair thro my insurance. But she never called to find a new frame until I called after a month.
I will still go to lens crafter but not this beacon st store.

The LensCrafters website says: «We use the accurate prescription from your eye exam*, the information gathered by your associate during your store visit, including your AccuFit™ measurements that account for your face shape, as well as the type of lens you need.» If my prescription had been accurate, I’m sure that I would have had a great experience here. The associates listened to my needs, helped me weigh pros and cons of different lenses, and gave me loaners when the frame color and lens type I wanted weren’t directly available.
Unfortunately the prescription wasn’t accurate, so all the emotional support, adjustments, coaxing, double checking that the lenses matched the (wrong) prescription, etc., was for naught but leaving me with debilitating headaches and nausea for a week. The doctor did see me again, but gave me a drastically different prescription only after a lot of assertiveness.
They would make me a new set of lenses with the new prescription at no cost. The frames were also still leaving painful indents on my nose despite many adjustments, and they said I could do one no-​cost swap of those. However, I felt burnt out from spending several hours that week on my semi-​daily trip to try to wrestle clear and pain-​free vision from the glasses I got and was doubtful of the accuracy of the new prescription, so I ended up returning my glasses to start over at some place new.
Although this try was not successful, I will definitely consider using LensCrafters again when I need new glasses in the future — but only if I am sure that I have an accurate prescription from somewhere else. The craftsmanship, clarity of vision from the lenses they use, policies that allow for returns and exchanges, and customer service were fantastic. Big shout outs especially to Ivan, Nabil, Adamis, and Evan for their attentive accompaniment through a painful journey.

I am thrilled with the result of my exam and glasses purchase. The staff is very young but dedicated to good service.

Watch the prices carefully. They fast and loose on the numbers. Today is not the first time that my glasses ended up costing about twice as much as the initial quote. Some of that was my fault as I was sold on some additional charges for my glasses. They told my that my lenses were half off. I should have made sure that they didn’t cost $ 495, for progressive reading glasses. I may have been taken for a fool. I will be taking my prescription around to some other dealers to check this out.
Otherwise, everyone was courteous and helpful.

More broke in Portland, Maine!

This is for buying glasses only. Maybe I’m just spoiled from always going to a Mom and Pop type store, but this was an AWFUL experience. In summary, I spent way more than I ever have before and I can’t even wear the glasses.
I mostly just wear my contacts, so I only needed a pair of glasses for early morning or late night so I could let my contacts soak in the solution long enough. I wanted to get the same lens type as my last 3 pairs of glasses, but was literally forced in to getting «nicer», thinner, lenses. Well, I now have a pair of glasses that are twice as heavy as my other ones (translation, awesome nose marks) that make me dizzy when I wear them. I expressed my concerns when they were ordering them that you have to let your eyes adjust to them more than the others, because like I said these are only for occasional wear, but they assured me it was fine. Then I picked them up, and holy moly was I dizzy and nauseas. It’s so bad that every time I put them on I question if they got the prescription right (questioned it when I was there too, but of course they said it was fine). And this is 7 months after getting them that I still haven’t «adjusted». I’ve never had this issue with other glasses (even my first pair) or my contacts, just these glasses.
So, in the end, I now wear my old glasses and threw my fancy new pair in a drawer and try not to think about how much they cost. I get it, they’re salesmen, they have what they want to sell you and going to do their best to force you in to it, even if it’s not a good fit. It’s just so disappointing to know you have to fight against the people who are supposed to be there to help and guide you in order to get what you actually need and fits your lifestyle. I miss that wow feeling when you put on a new pair of glasses and you see so much clearer than before, but hey at least now I have a great pair of glasses for simulating the disorientation of beer goggles.

Customer service is way better now! I’ve been back twice to get a pair of glasses that I ordered off of
adjusted. The first time, they were very hesitant with the adjustments. The second time, they made sure they fit perfectly and weren’t sliding off of my face. The optician was even able to spot the the centers (I’m sure that’s not the right term, but I can’t remember exactly what he called them) were about 10 mm too low, and while this won’t damage my eyes, it would be good to see if coastal would fix them for free.
So, I got great service for free, for a pair of frames I did not buy there, and advice on how to make those glasses better. Also, they were very on top of helping customers in the order that they walked in.

I’ve been going to this Lenscrafters on and off for the past 3 years, for glasses and for eye exams because I get a pretty decent deal through my insurance.
Dr. B is really efficient in that she sees you, tells you what she’s going to do, and sends you on your way. My appts with her have been about 15 – 20 mins max, which is fine because I like efficient, but I would like a little better explanation of why you’re changing me to a more expensive prescription once in a while. It’s fine though, she’s really competent and her front desk assistant is always very thorough and approachable. 3.5 stars for her.
The sales staff at this Lenscrafters used to be pretty good. The first 2 years I went was great! They (Shirley, Robyn?) painstakingly went through their selection of frames to find what I wanted and put in my insurance and helped me find discounts so that with my horrible vision, my complete pair of glasses would cost less.
My most recent visit this year was such a mess. I went into an empty store and a sales associate (SA) greeted me promptly to help find glasses. Off to a good start, great! I told him I wasn’t sure what I wanted yet but looked online and showed him a few of the ones I thought I’d like on my phone. He asked me a few questions and said he’d be back with a few selections; he never came back. 10 minutes later another SA came by and asked if I was being helped. I told her I was, but had not seen him come back, and she told me he had gone on his lunch break. What?! Ok, fine.
This SA was really patient and went through a couple of frames and I finally picked some I liked. Apparently, she was in training because she had to wait around a couple of times to input information into the computer because she wasn’t sure. That was fine, I can understand being slow when you’re new. THEN, the former SA helping me comes back from break and starts teasing her for being new and not knowing things. Friendly work banter… ok…that’s fine. But then it gets weird when they start talking about after work plans while she’s still trying to figure out how to properly input info into the computer. So awkward. Not the worst part.
Here’s where my experience mirrors Veronique L. The frames I wanted were only available in brown, but I wanted the black ones. The store manager then assured me they checked and the Lenscrafters in Copley had them in stock and it would take about 2days for them to get it in the store and fit with lenses instead of waiting 2 weeks to get them from the manufacturer. Awesome, I’ll wait. He told me they would call me in 4 days with a wink and grin (should’ve known from that greasy salesman vibe I was getting from him). Of course, no call. I called them after a week, and explained the situation, and the person on the phone told me that they don’t have them in stock in MA and he’d call me back. He calls me back the next morning to tell me they would be getting them from Minnesota and they’d be ready in a week. WHAT?!? I said fine because I was going out of town and couldn’t deal with it, but that’s not what I was told. Exactly 5 hours later in that evening, another SA calls me and she tells me my glasses are ready to pick up. I asked her if they were the correct color and explained all the other phone calls, and she said, «That’s weird, they’re ready. Not sure why you were told that.» So, I’m guessing if I didn’t check in with them, they wouldn’t have hurried or even checked my order and I would’ve waited forever for my glasses. Not spending $$$ here anymore in exchange for such a frustrating experience. Customer service seems to go out the door once they’ve swiped your credit card.
Communication within the store is obviously not a strong point. SAs were a bit unprofessional and really confused. They should also train people better so they don’t wait around looking for help when dealing with a customer in real-​time.

I got a new pair of glasses at LensCrafters in Coolidge Corner today. I never expected my experience with LensCrafters to be so bad. I suspect it’s because they were not making enough money on me to try harder.
It started when they gave me some flimsy excuse why I could not simply replace the lenses in my old frame and had to get a new one. When I asked for the lowest priced lens and frame combo they have, I was quoted an outrageous price. I almost walked out of the store when I noticed a stand advertising a much lower price. They grudgingly agreed to honor this price, but they were not very enthusiastic to make adjustments to the frame for a proper fit.
When I came back to pick up the glasses at the agreed time, I discovered that I have to wait another 40 minutes «because they are backed up» — despite the fact that I was the FIRST customer to walk into the store when it opened in the morning! When I finally got my glasses, they «forgot» to give me the glass case, and when they gave me that, they forgot to give me the cloth that goes inside.
I was planning to write a 3-​star review on Unilocal.But when I got home and took a closer look at my new glasses, I discovered that the lenses are much thicker and heavier than in my other pair of glasses — even though LensCrafters had promised that they would be the same. I am disappointed, I had expected better of LensCrafters.

Finally received my glasses a week after they said they were ready.
Not sure how the address was printed wrong three times. Unhappy that packaging was lackluster. My glasses came in an eyeglass case without a cloth cleaner. The eyeglass case was packaged in another small box. When I picked it up, it was bouncing around in the box, no bubble wrap, no tissue paper, nothing to protect it, especially since it has been in transit for one week!
On top of that, I think someone went through great pains to finish the job. The nose pieces don’t say Prada. The bridge on the new pair seems weaker than the older pair. (I can only make these statements because these new frames are supposed to be the exact same as the old ones.)
I am incredibly disappointed with the service and finished product. Any ideas who I can complain to? Prada frames with no name pieces is not what I ordered.

i’ve been coming here for the past few years for my exam needs, but what spurred writing this review is the great experience i had this past week. I generally meet with Dr. B once a year to work out a new Rx, but this time I met with Dr. Straube (even though i scheduled the appointment with Dr. B – so i guess it was a little unprofessional of them to not notify me of the change). Anyway, its not that I’ve ever had an unpleasant experience with Dr. B, it’s just that I don’t exactly get the warm fuzzies from her – something about her general attitude and demeanor don’t really rub me the right way all the time, but, again, i would never say that visits with her were unpleasant.
Dr. Straube on the other hand is fantastic! She has the kind of attitude that you expect to get from a pediatrician. Very warm, kind, and most importantly patient. I didn’t feel rushed looking through different Rxs (you know when they ask «what’s better 1 or 2?»), and she really took her time making sure I was happy with the contacts I tried on in the end. And of course I love that they give you a free week of lenses to use so that you can be sure you’re getting the right Rx/​lense type. No complaints here!

They will replace nosepads for free even if you didn’t buy your glasses at a LensCrafters. I brought a pair of Ray Bans here and they fixed them up real nice. Unfortunately, they are kind of slow and not so friendly, but, hey, the service is free. Thanks, LC!

I wish I could divide the stars between the first part of my purchase and the end… and it is the end that brought the scoring WAAAAAAYYYY DOWN. Bought my sunglasses from Robyn, who is really nice, chatty, helpful, etc. I was busy later in the day, so I picked them up a few days later. When I went to pick them up (either Tuesday 9^th or Wednesday 10^th), the «older woman» (yes, I said «older woman»… one of those late 50’s women who are pretending to be 20 yrs younger) came to the door and said, VERY RUDELY, that she couldn’t let me in because she was by herself.
Um, OK.
So I stood outside while she let the UPS guy in, and she brought my sunglasses out, telling me if I needed adjustments, I would have to come back. Sure, I would love to walk another 30 mins each way to make your life easier, lady.
Wore the sunglasses for 9 hours this past weekend while out-​of-​town, and cursed that bitch the whole time. They need adjusting so that they don’t sit on my face in a way that looks like I slept on them and woke up looking like the freak of Brookline. I think I will go 2 minutes before closing for a fitting, hope that she is there, and tell her why I am keeping her late.
To sum it up: Robyn was nice, but everything else sucked. I will NOT buy another pair of glasses here!
