This is my go-to spot for sushi! I’ve never had something that I didn’t absolutely love. The sushi is always fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. My favorite part of the experience is the owners! They always recognize us and are so friendly and welcoming every time we come in. Best rolls in my opinion are Spicy Crispy Maki and Kamiza Maki. Rolls are priced well too. Can’t say enough good things about this place.

Delicious and very accommodating to my gluten free lifestyle. This is a great place for a date but I took my mother who loved it and is very picky about sushi and cleanliness. It got an A for both freshness and it was aesthetically correct.

Love this place. Super cheap and quick. Food is what you pay for, but you’re not going to beat 4 dollar rolls. I always go for the spicy mayo, it’s lovely.

This neighborhood sushi spot is awesome. The rolls are priced well, fresh and delicious. They are able to accommodate gluten allergy with gluten free soy sauce. The sit-down tables are usually empty, which is a huge disappointment for me. I’m hopeful that the take-out side of business is lucrative. The staff are very very friendly, polite and attentive. Recently they’ve added frozen drinks to the menu, which are fresh and delicious as well. High recommend this Washington square sushi stop!

Gross! Maybe it was the timing(1 hour before closing) but my Spider Roll was absolutely disgusting and warm and smelly. Also was 4 small pieces. The Color Mountain Maki was also warm and the rice mushy with only orange Tobiko and not as described. Needless to say, won’t be where I order next time I want sushi.

Fresh sashimi and sushi. I love salmon and cucumber sushi here. By the way, nice chatting with chef.

I love this place! I ordered the sweet potato tempura maki and the pan fried veggie gyoza. The maki was up to par but the gyoza really exceeded expectations and I highly recommend it. I thought the inside was nice and clean and homey and the staff was so polite and welcoming. I will definitely be going back! I’m really glad they’re open til 2am because there aren’t many places open that late.

Just tried the spicy tuna and red sox maki at this place, it’s pretty good and inexpensive for decent Sushi, the chef was nice and friendly too, would recommend this to everyone.

I was craving sushi on a rainy day so I ordered takeout from Kamiza. The sushi quality is pretty low, and I wouldn’t recommend this place for sushi. I got a california maki roll, spicy tuna roll, salmon roll, and unagi roll. Even though I should of known better, I got two saba nigiri pieces as well. First of all, the rice was way too sweet and acidic. The rice had way too much vinegar and was also too mushy. All I could taste in my salmon roll was vinegar — pretty disappointing. The rest of the rolls had the same overpowering vinegar taste, but otherwise tasted close-enough to how they should taste. The cucumber slices were mushy and limp rather than crispy as fresh cucumbers should be. The colors on the fish were overall pretty gray. wish would indicate that they are not as fresh as could be. The saba nigiri. was kind of a mistake. The color was grey-brown instead of more off-white. It was clearly not as fresh as could be. and its texture was pretty tough. yeah… I wouldn’t get the sushi here again. Maybe I’d try their hot food, but not their sushi. It’s pretty apparent that they are not using fresh ingredients or the ingredients have been sitting around for a long time. I wouldn’t say that this place is inedible… but if you don’t think that you have a relatively strong stomach, there might be a small risk of an upset stomach

I feel the need to warn people before they eat here. The health inspector needs to shut this place down. Worst sushi i have ever had in my life. I was so stupid to order delivery, the other places I order from are always so good and fresh so I thought this place would be safe. I learned my lesson. I ordered the bento box and 95% of it was rancid. The yellowtail sashimi was HARD; I only discovered this once i put it in my mouth and spit it out. The california role was made with hard stinky old crab, had to spit that out too,(sorry for the tmi). I ate one tuna roll and then noticed that the tuna was oddly stringy. nothing was crawling, but i know what tuna tendons and gristle look like, and this was very different.(i should have been more observant that night). And now. I have been feeling sick ever since and have to get checked for worms.

Solid sushi. Great prices. Lots of choices. Open late. Delivery available. I don’t really understand why everyone has been giving this place bad reviews. I have never had a problem with the quality of sushi from Kamiza. If you’re ordering sushi at 2am, you should probably understand that it’s not going to be the freshest sushi out there, at any restaurant. But at least they’re open late and willing to deliver sushi to you. Since there aren’t many places open for 2am sushi delivery, I feel like people giving this place bad reviews are just unfairly comparing 2am delivery sushi to the kind of sushi you would get at normal meal hours if you walked in to a restaurant. Also, the people who work at Kamiza are so kind, accommodating, and committed to their customers that I felt obligated to share my positive experiences with the restaurant. I never write reviews, but I felt the need to this time because I almost didn’t give Kamiza a shot due to its bad reviews. Super Fusion(which is two doors down) has much better reviews, but I don’t think it’s justified. Super Fusion is good, but so is Kamiza. Give Kamiza a shot! PS: People who are saying they got food poisoning from here, that is a huge accusation. I hope that didn’t happen to you, but I also really hope you are lying about it or exaggerating. Ever thought that maybe you got a stomachache because you’re eating pounds of sushi at 2am?

Polite yes. Quality food. No. Maguro should be red not beige. Eel shouldn’t crunch like it did. Even the ginger tasted… Off. Should have considered somewhere else for midnight delivery sushi. Thanks a lot seamless.

On the one hand, I know that it is a HUGE risk ordering sushi for delivery. Please for the love of God don’t do it! Not only does this place make awful sushi, it is also unhealthy. It gave me food poisoning. One the other hand, there are not that many places that deliver to you late at night. It is understandable that you might want Japanese food delivered to your door. As white as it sounds, I insist that you order the Chicken Teriyaki if you must order from this place because the sushi here is rancid.

I ordered from this place once online and they don’t seem to be a very good value. I spent $ 9.95 on the«Beef Yaki». I received 2 skewers that each had 3 pieces of beef and then the rest was onions and peppers. It tasted great but that is not worth $ 10 unless they are using a high priced cut of beef for the skewers.(I doubt that) I also got the green tea tempura for $ 6. I’ve ordered ice cream tempura before and still had it delivered and still be ice cream. This was just a tempura shell with melted ice cream base in it and it wasn’t even cold anymore. It also seems to be just one small scoop of ice cream. I essentially had fried batter. I’m probably never ordering from here again because you don’t get enough for your value, and like my ice cream tempura and other reviews here show, the food is not well executed each time.

This is the type of place that deserves no stars because the food is terrible, delivery drivers are rude, and they have inadequate customer service. I decided to try them for delivery tonight. Let’s see what went wrong: Firstly, they forgot the miso soup I ordered. When I called the restaurant they were unapologetic and plainly stated we’ll take it off the bill, nothing else. Both of the rolls I received were made with old fish and one of them was completely uneatable. The delivery driver was also way rude. When he got to my apartment he complained about how far away I was from the restaurant, «5 miles!» he proclaimed. Please stop delivering here since you clearly don’t want to be anyway.

SAVEYOURMONEY, please. This place is way overpriced and the delivery service is terrible. I live 15 minutes away, it took them nearly 2 hours to get here. When the guy finally called me and said he was outside, I stood outside for 45MINUTES with no sign of him. The restaurant then called me to ask why I wasn’t outside and that he couldn’t find me. Mind you it was freezing cold and I was standing SMACK in front of the building, there was no way to miss me. The guy wasn’t even on the right side of town! When my food finally got here it was stone cold and disgustingly greasy, my stomach still feels ill from eating it. THESHRIMPWASOFF, let me tell you that. 14 dollars for a possibly deadly, grease laden shrimp roll? Yeah, no thank you. SAVEYOURMONEYPEOPLE.

**BYOB** Lucky for you, there is a liquor store right up the street and if you go alllll the way in the back, you can get singles of Sapporo for a few bucks and enjoy them at your table The dry erase markers are fun, but the selection seemed limited compared to other places. A highlight was the B52, a deep fried roll. We had a decent time and the price was right. Service is a little on the slow end, but family run and everyone was very friendly.

Kamiza was a nice find. It’s clean, friendly, and inviting, as are the staff members we met. We bought a Groupon earlier in the week and were very pleasantly surprised as to how late Kamiza is open(11PM on weekdays, and 2AM on weekends). It made our later-night sojourn even better to know that on a weekend, they’d be open even later. There were about ten tables and also the sushi bar. My favorite feature was the HUGE maneki neko beckoning cat, although the wall art panels were beautiful, too. We ordered regular and lobster miso soup. The lobster miso was a really good call because it really pops! There was egg white in it, in a solid piece, and it was very good. This soup has chili of some kind in it, so it has heat to it. There were real lobster pieces as well as imitation shellfish(imitation crabmeat?) in the soup, and it worked very well. The regular miso is mild and gentle in taste. It could stand to be saltier. This restaurant is one of the few places where you can get straight-up pineapple juice right on the menu. This makes me very happy, as I love pineapple juice. We ordered sake nigiri(which they call king salmon, though I don’t know the difference, or if there is one), a super dragon roll, a honey maki, and a garden maki. The salmon nigiri was soft and delicious, though the salmon was splitting apart all over at the natural lines. Super dragon is shrimp tempura and cucumber inside seaweed and rice maki with avocado and eel on top; this roll came with a cold sauce on it, which I thought would have been nicer if it was warm. The garden maki was the hit of the sushi party, made of sweet potato tempura, cream cheese, and avocado, topped with a savory sauce. The honey maki was another lovely vegetarian roll, made of papaya, cream cheese, avocado, and apple. The cream cheese in these rolls just worked so well with the other ingredients. We will definitely be back to Kamiza. It is a solid, mid-range, local sushi restaurant with very cheerful staff. They’ve got a lot of specials(coupons and specials include 15% off of an online order, or $ 6 off of $ 30 dine-in, or free maki with any takeout/delivery purchase of $ 25), and they have lunch specials and a great number of specialty rolls, so I’m sure there’s plenty for me to choose from in the future.
