C and C Dental, Dr. Luhao Chen DDS

I never thought I’d feel compelled to write a review about a dentist but Dr. Chen is amazing and I am thankful I found him (my coworker recommended him as I’m from CT originally and didn’t yet have a dentist in MA). He is the best dentist I have been to– he genuinely seems interested in my health and was teaching me about my teeth through the course of my visit. — and I never thought my teeth could look so good after just a routine cleaning. He has technology my old life-​long dentist did not. Dr. Chen did wonderfully and even though I have two cavities I look forward to going back in the future (maybe after those are filled… But I trust him to take care of it). Because Dr. Chen was so educational and positive now I care more about my teeth too.

I had to switch dentists due to an insurance change but am so glad I found Dr. Chen. His office is located conveniently in Brookline and was very clean and modern. Even the office music was very soothing, like I was in a spa.
I’ve gone to see him twice now, for a routine check-​up/​cleaning and also to repair a tooth/​get a filling. He was very gentle and kind, easy to talk to, and very meticulous with his work. I really dislike going to the dentist but it’s comforting to know that he will take care of me with integrity and kindness. I sent my husband to see him too and my husband reported that he asked about us and remembered some of what I had shared with him. When I left the 2^nd time, he asked me to say hello to my husband for him.
What a guy!

We chose to come to Dr. Chen because he’s close to where we live and he accepts our insurance plan. We also did a little bit of research and found he receives generally good reviews. I decided to write about our experiences with Dr. Chen because we found that he and his practice are really excellent.
First off, when i called to make an appointment for my entire family (2 adults and 2 kids) he answered the phone personally and was super helpful and scheduled us at convenient hours. I’m really struck by this, because most dentists would simply relegate that task to a staff member.
4 cleanings, 1 filling, and 2 baby teeth pulled later, I can say without a doubt that Dr. Chen is a superb dentist! He puts us and our kids at ease. My kids actually enjoy going to the dentist now believe it or not. Super nice guy and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

C&C is a really classy and clean dental office. The interior is very modern and relaxing. All the equipments Dr Chen uses are the super clean. Dr Chen is so nice and answers all questions in details until I satisfied. He is knowledgable and also very gentle when working on my teeth. I height recommend Dr Chen for anyone looking for a great dentist!

Dr Chen is friendly, very thorough, good at explaining his findings and builds good rapport with patients and children. He also has a hygienist who does good teaching on appropriately using dental floss. He interacts well with children. He was able to see my husband within 24 hours when I contacted him for urgent appointment for acute dent pain! I am very impressed by him and enrolled my whole family in his practice.

I’ve very impressed with the quality and care provided by Dr. Chen. I had some fillings that needed to be done and he handled them very well and explained proper care to prevent more without condescension (which I hate from dentists). He even sent an email to see if I was well after the fact! He was very calm, patient, and upbeat. I appreciated being able to get hours after work also.

Dr. Chen was spectacular! I would recommend anyone and everyone to go and see him! The outside of the building seems a little sketchy but once you go up to the 3^rd floor to C and C dental you will see how beautiful the office is! The personnel were all extremely friendly and helpful. Dr. Chen took the time to explain everything he was doing and make sure I understood everything when I was there and when I left. he has state of the art technology and even was able to show me inside my mouth on a TV screen!
I normally HATE going to the dentists and am so happy to have found Dr. Chen!

Dr. Chen is by far the nicest dentist I’ve ever met. The first step I took out of the elevator, he was already sitting at the front desk and greeted me by my name.
The interior is modern and absolutely clean.
The most impressive aspect of Dr. Chen is his level of personal care. I’ve never had a dentist show me xrays of my teeth and explain what cavities/​healthy enamel look like. He also was able to show me with a live camera all the hidden nooks and crannies.
Eliane, his assistant, was really gentle as well. Both are really patient and soft spoken health care professionals. If I were a kid, I’d be 100% comfortable in their presence.
Dr. Chen makes it clear that he loves his patients to make their own decisions regarding their treatment. He doesn’t push his patients to do anything. He is actually the first dentist to not ask me whether I want braces because I don’t have impeccably straight teeth, which I appreciate. He completely understands that everyone’s financial situation is different and lays out the pricing for various fillings at the end of your appointment.
I was really surprised to get a goody bag of tooth paste, brush, chap stick, and floss at the end. Sweet!
Fantastic practice and care.

I personally have not seen Dr. Chen for dental work, but I chose to write this review bc my mother saw him today and told me he was the best dentist she has ever seen. She is 73, very discerning, knows what she likes and doesn’t like, and is not computer savvy, so I promised her that I would help her spread the word to all who would listen.
Mom loved his calm and gentle manner. She loved the fact that he listened to her and didn’t rush her during the visit. She loved the fact that he didn’t seem like he was looking for dental problems to fix and he didn’t seem like he was just trying to make money. She felt like she was the only patient he had. She felt cared for and left fully satisfied. He speaks Mandarin and Taiwanese which also made my mom feel like he was the son she never had: D
Mom was worried that Dr. Chen wasn’t getting enough publicity bc it seems like the Brookline/​Allston/​Brighton area is just saturated with dentists. I laughed when I went on the Unilocal site and saw these wonderful reviews bc I thought I would be the first person to review this dentist and give him some proper air time. Clearly I’m the one behind on the times. just happy to lend another thumbs up sign for a quality, caring, and patient dental provider. Being one of the biggest dental phobes on this planet (rather get 10 Pap smears than get 1 dental cleaning) I spend time seeking out compassionate and gentle dentists. Currently locked into a dental plan or else I would make a switch.
One caveat: the Brookline Village office is located on the 3^rd floor. They are currently installing an elevator in the building, but it’s still in the works, so this particular location isn’t good for those who have difficulty climbing stairs. Mom has a heart condition and had some trouble, but I anticipate the elevator should be in place in another couple of months.

Best dentist I have ever seen. I recently needed to get a deep cleaning, and I was very nervous about it, but Dr. Chen was so calming and understanding of my fears.
He was so gentle and mindful of how I was feeling throughout the procedure. His office is very modern and up to date with technology. In the initial visit, he gave me a camera view of my teeth, so I could see what he was seeing, and understand his diagnosis for me. A+

My husband saw Dr. Chen at Allston Dental. I kept hearing how amazing he was. My husband like most people was not a fan of being in a dentist’s chair. After a visit with Dr. Chen that went away. He was booking regular appointments and telling me I should see Dr. Chen as well. Unfortunately when I decided to see Dr. Chen he was no longer at Allston Dental. I then Googled his name and found that he opened an office even closer to our home. I recently went for a cleaning and later some fillings. I was anxious about the filling in particular as it’s been a long time since I’ve had a filling done and I also have an illness where I have neuroendocrine tumors causing my body to have more anxiety as well as other serious issues. Dr. Chen was absolutely wonderful. He was familiar with my illness to even though it’s rare and a lot of doctors wouldn’t be too familiar with it. He put me at ease right away. I barely felt a thing. When I started to panic in the beginning he stopped and gave me a little break and explained everything so clearly. I have some more fillings to get done and I will be doing that in the weeks to come as well. I was supposed to have an appt. last week but unfortunately one of our pets got ill late the night before so he had to be taken to the vet. For anyone who is looking for a calming, competent, honest dentist he is the one you should see. I have seen dentists in Brookline, Allston and Boston and I feel most comfortable with him. He even shows you on a camera the areas that have cavities which other dentists haven’t done with me before. He had a lovely office close enough to the T. His office staff and dental assistant were all very lovely.

Just awesome. Not much more to say… The office is beautiful and the people are great! This is new and better take on dentistry.

Let me start by saying I am afraid of going to the dentist usually. But I am not afraid to go to Dr. Chen. His calm demeanor and his overall niceness instantly put you to ease. He is caring and definitely wants to see you maintain healthy teeth and gums. He is also brilliant without being judgmental with all sorts of good tips on how to keep your mouth area healthy.
I followed Dr Chen to his new practice and I am so glad that I did. This is the kind of dentist that you want to go to year after year and recommend to all your friends and family. He has invested in some of the latest technology to really let him help you. I especially liked the screen that lets me see my x-​rays. Plus his new offices are fantastic and calming with great huge windows that let you see outside (though I am tired of seeing snow, it was still nice to be able to see the outside world in a dentist’s office. Really looking forward to seeing it in Spring).
This location is also really great since it is so close to the T and there is also free parking. Definitely the best dentist with an awesome location. It will be my pleasure to keep going back year after year.

Dr Chen is awesome, very gentle and attentive. I had my wisdow teeth removed and did not feel a thing. and the recovery process was very smooth since he was very gentle with my gums. THANKS DR CHEN you are the BEST.

Dr Chen is the BEST dentist. He is gentle, caring and very professional. I recommend Dr. Chen to all friends and family.

I followed Dr. Chen from Allston Dental to his new practice C&C Dental. He is absolutely the best dentist I have ever met. He examined my teeth very carefully, gave reasonable treatment plan, and executed the plan very well. After the treatment, he sent me follow-​up emails to check if I was comfortable with the teeth. His assistant was very nice as well. They gave me a lot of useful tips to protect teeth. Also, when I ask Dr. Chen some questions, I could always get prompt response either through phone or through email. His new practice has advanced equipment and comfortable environment. I definitely recommend Dr. Chen and his C&C Dental as I am well taken care of there.

I have been a patient of Dr. Chen for the past five years at Allston Dental. He has now moved to C&C Dental, Brookline which means I have to spend 10 more minutes to get to his now office but it’s definitely worth it. I highly recommend Dr. Chen!
